Great selection of German food! Service was fast and friendly! Wait staff are very informative and helpful with understanding the cuisine. Great selection of German beers as well. Plenty of seating, great atmosphere! Highly recommend giving them a try!

THIS PLACE HAD LIFE CHANGING FOOD FLAVOR! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT AND CAN'T TALK ABOUT HOW GOOD THE COOKS ARE ENOUGH!

Food:
Absolutely phenomenal and amazing. I'm a Black American and have never had German based food before due to where I live in Texas. Wifey and I wanted to try something new and even I say we were ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY!!! I had the stroganoff with red cabbage and the noodles and I can't remember the name of hers. Both dishes on their first taste no matter what the item was on the plate blew our taste buds out the water. We would literally drive all the way from Texas just to eat here again to confirm that the food is that good. If you haven't eaten here, I'd fully in good faith recommend it.

Atmosphere:
Nice. They had an older woman playing the life out of an accordion (that's a good thing, means she sounded good). It is also a nice underground spot.

Price
Moderately priced. It's not the cheapest but not too expensive. That's why it's more $$ priced. You absolutely get great portion sizes for what you order and it is filling. So the price matches what you get in my opinion, and that's a good thing.

Adult Beverages
Great tasting, great pours, and roughly $11 per.

Customer service
It was cool. Nothing to exactly write home about but they had good recommendations. I wasn't amazed with anything our waiter did, but he was nice and did his job.

Mindset discount
Yes - roughly 10%

Bottom Line
If you're from out of town or even live here and never tried this place, you have to try it. It's worth the money.

Excellent food, service from Amber and decor complete with a beautiful painting of the Nueschwanstein castle on the stage where they had live music (the saxophonist that was playing the night we went was very amateur, but still nice for ambience). Veal Schnitzel and Spätzle were delicious as well as the Apple Strudel This place was recommended to me by a local and we are so glad we went!

This is a great hidden place! The service was superior, and the staff friendly and accommodating (sorry for screwing up the reservation schedule!). The food was great, and our server at the bar was extremely helpful when it came to recommending drinks and food. The beef stroganoff was excellent! All around a great place to eat!

What an amazing place!

The food; the atmosphere; the staff....all terrific.

We weren't planning on stopping in; however, after a terrible experience next door at a neighboring restaurant (I won't mention names, but The Commodores wouldn't have approved either), we decided to give it a shot and finish dinner up there. Enough about that though.

Service was very quick for a Saturday night. The giant German pretzel with beer cheese and mustard was top notch.

I had the German bone-in shank with red cabbage and mashed potatoes. The pork was fall off the bone tender and the sauce was amazing. The potatoes and gravy were primo. The cabbage was great as well.

So glad we decided to stop here. Will visit again. And really wish we had tried desert.

Absolutely LOVED Steinhaus Keller! My husband's family migrated from Germany to America, and it was our first dinner at a truly authentic German restaurant, and it was absolutely wonderful! We had the great Bavarian Pretzel with sausage, cheese, fruit, and nuts along with a side of red cabbage and hot German potato salad. We took a slice of German Chocolate Cake and Lemon Cheesecake to go, and they were amazing! Cassie was our waitress and gave us outstanding service, and we had a wonderful time talking to her too😊 We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Hot Springs!

This place is great. The food is outstanding, the server was on point, the stuffed mushrooms appetizer was the favorite at our table. They also have live music (a violinist).

Wonderful restaurant with a fun atmosphere and great service. The cuisine was all delicious and a much needed reprieve from the hoards of American and Italian restaurants. I would recommend anyone to stop in and have a great meal. The cheese schnitzel, sauerkraut cakes and meatballs were absolutely stellar along with a great selection of mustards. The bartender was great at picking delicious beers to pair with dinner.

One of the more authentic German restaurants we have been to in the United States! The spaghetti Eis was just perfect 🤩

Visit to Hot Springs and found this German gem hidden. Waiter was knowledgeable and answered our questions about the menu. Enjoyed some drinks and then got plenty of food that we were quite full upon leaving.

Amazing experience! Arrived a little after 3pm and sat in the bier garden. Our server was great despite being very busy. Everything he recommended was amazing. Beer. Appetizers. Meals were all 5/5. So good we went back for a second time on our last day of vacation.

We had the best waitress! Staff was friendly and accomodating considering we had no reservation on a Friday evening. Food was excellent and choice of wines and beers, was more than expected!

Never go on a holiday if you want to experience the feel of being in Germany. The place gets packed and too busy for the staff. To give you their best, I have been a few times before and will definitely be going back. The food is delicious, and the violinist is amazing. When in Hot Springs, this is a must visit .

I absolutely loved this little hole in the wall. My boyfriend and I have never tried German cuisine before. The portions were huge and very filling. I couldn’t imagine drinking with this meal, but I saw others with shoe mugs and it looked awesome. The food was delicious and we will definitely be back!

This place is amazing. We are on vacation and it was so good we came a second time. The wursts were awesome, the beers are great and the atmosphere is top notch. Our server Kevin was great and if we lived in town, we'd come all the time.

Started with the Sauerkraut cakes. They were served with a sour cream sauce on the side. Good light mix of beef and pork with the spices and sauerkraut. I got the Sauerbrauten. It was in a deep, rich sauce. So tender and full of flavor. My dining partner got the Schnitzel with peppers and cayenne/paprika spice. It was thicker that most schnitzel, but very good. And spicy! We both got the German potato salad (nice tartness) and red cabbage (so good!). We finished with a decadent slice of Black Forest cake. Definitely large enough to share.

German food at its best, and I have been to Germany.
The roulade was exceptional, the kraut cakes are to die for, and the German chocolate cake couldn't have been better.
Also brats and schnitzel, spaetzel, and a nice beer selection.
Contrary to the hater who complained about t-shirts and shorts everyone of the staff was dressed nice and ultra attentive to our needs.
The sunken grotto felt very European and we leisurely enjoyed our dinner in the open air.
One of the favorites with the locals, and we can see why.
Not even that expensive for what it is!

We were looking for a food experience in the historic part of Hot Springs, and this delivered!

Located in a quaint historic building, we felt transported. There is even an outdoor biergarten, though we didn't sit out there because of the weather. Note that the restaurant is below street level, so either an elevator ride or a flight of stairs is required to get there. It's a little tucked away, but there is signage directing you to the front door.

The food and service were great. We ordered the smorgasbord, so we could try a bit of everything. It was all delicious, but the sauerkraut cakes were the standout item!

For mains, we order the Night Hours pork and the Chicken Paprikash. Didn't manage pictures of those...

The beer selection is extensive, with something to suit all tastes, including the "flavored water" section at the back of the beer menu with domestic offerings like Coors Light. And the waitstaff were knowledgeable, and were able to make recommendations when we just described the flavor profile we wanted.

There were only two of us, so we knew we ordered too much food, and we divided our mains in half at the start of the meal, with a plan to take home leftovers and order dessert. We ended up taking dessert to go - apple strudel and German('s) Chocolate Cake. We ate them back at our hotel, hours later.

A great meal, and a great experience. We have zero regrets!

Will definitely go back the next time we spend time in Hot Springs!
