Everyone is very helpful and friendly. I would like to shout out to Kevin. He went above and beyond to help us with our snowblower tires. Great team member. This is my go to hardware store.

Last night my toilet broke on the handle. I was dreading the fact that I knew it would be way less expensive to fix it myself, but calling out a plumber is like basically $80 no matter if they do anything or not. So.. off to Dorn's.

I went in and Kevin helped me figure out what I needed, took the time to not only show me what caused the problem in the first place, but each step in fixing it and preventing the problem in the future. He showed me what tools, how to use the tools properly for the job, and reminded me multiple times about the quirk that the handle nut screws the opposite direction as normal.

Came home still dreading it, but pretty confident it was worth $80 to try. I fixed it in less than 5 minutes with ease and I feel great about me, Kevin, the toilet, and the fact that Dorn went way outta the way to help a woman who is NOT handy.

I love helping the small stores in our neighborhoods & I really enjoy coming here. What is surprising is the younger adults that work here and how helpful & knowledgeable they are! My last visit Katie was really helpful in my quest and she knew where everything was. She also had a few other suggestions as well which I appreciated. I have been here many times seeking materials and advice for everything from small repairs to DIY renovations. Everyone I have encountered in this store is friendly and helpful - full of tips, advice, and encouragement.

They've talked me through vague plans, steered me towards affordable alternatives, and on occasion, when they didn't have what I needed, sent me to exactly where I could find it rather than try to pressure me into buying something from them that wasn't quite right.

I wasn't looking for a hardware store in Oregon but I happened to stumble upon one of the great ones that I have ever been to.

While driving on a Sunday in the late afternoon, a caliper bolt worked it's way out and was making noise.

Luckily, I thought, pulling into a a parking lot with an auto parts store was going to be the salvation I was looking for. Unfortunately, this auto parts store was closed on a Sunday afternoon.

But, Dorn True Value Hardware in Oregon was open! THANK YOU!

After a few trips back and forth (guessing at the hex caliper bolt size, turns out to be 8mm) and the staff staying a bit later than closing time, I was able to re-tighten the caliper bolt and be on our way.

It's been a while since I've met good people actually caring about the situation rather than just trying to go home.

I really have no idea what the negative posts are about. For one thing I didn't have people constantly walking up to me and interrupting me when I'm obviously looking around for myself but when I asked for help they were there. Every time I've gone to Dorn they knew exactly where to find what I was looking for and were able to give advice on whatever project I was working on. They were friendly and understanding when I rented some chairs but was a day late in returning them (my fault). As to the people complaining about doing the price check yourself? This isn't an impersonal box store with smiling subservient staff whose knowledge is restricted to what isle to go to and how to swipe a bar code. It's a small town store and they act more like people instead of your servants. I love Dorn!

I came into true value the other day and was greeted very kindly by a worker named Katie, she was very helpful and very respectful!

The store is packed with stuff. It is sometimes a little messy. You pay a little more but they have always had what I needed. And many times they are handing out free popcorn. Pay no attention to the earlier hateful posts. I spent 22 yrs in retail and dealt with whiney little #1@#'s like that all the time. Its a small town hardware store. I'm glad they are there.

Very knowledgeable, helpful employees. I really appreciated Hannah finding the telescoping ceiling fan duster and assisting me in getting the correct lithium battery for a sound bar remote. I would recommend Dorn True Value Hardware in Oregon, WI to everyone!

Seth and Hannah were very helpful, courteous and a pleasure to interact with. It is nice to see that there are still young adults that have respect for the paying customer. I had a great experience and will return in the future.

Just moved to town and needed plumbing parts for kitchen and bathroom. They had exactly what I needed and even gave me a discount when the price on a small plastic part seemed too high. Being able to look through drawers of small parts, and then getting an unexpected discount at the cash register - This is the kind of thing I miss when I go to the big box stores. I'll be stopping here before I make the trip to Madison.

I don’t usually bother to do online reviews, but my husband and I both have found Hannah to be knowledgeable of the store’s inventory, and helpful. She’s the reason I gave 5 stars — otherwise, it would probably be 4.

this is one of the best hardware stores in oregon wi and one of the few gems left in the city, a real hardware store that knows what you need for the things your trying to fix. patient and great customer service

This place has been in town since I was a kid and it has everything. If you can't find something ask Kevin and he'll either find it for you or tell you the best place to get it. I looked over the earlier reviews and I agree some of the staff from a few years ago sucked but the new staff is great! Support your local hardware store!
