Took the kids here while visiting FL. We wanted to try our luck magnet fishing. We didn't find anything other than an old fishing hook, but non the less the kids were excited. We spent some time in the playground area, which was great for playing tag. Before we left, we walked through the Splash pad area. If it was a little hotter, it would have been better, but it didn't stop the kids. Nice little park with plenty of free parking !!

Wonderful kid-friendly park on Tampa Bay and also home to a Taste of Boston, yes, I know, in Tampa. New management in the past year under manager Christina. Generous, tasty food. Have been coming here for years but it is kind of like, "don't tell anyone," but I am. View across the water is hard to see in one photo but it is downtown Tampa five miles away. Great place.

After living in Tampa for a decade, I finally went to this park when I had family visiting. It's a beautiful spot as you head south on Bayshore Blvd. Nice views of the downtown Tampa skyline as you can see in the photo. There's a boat ramp, a fishing pier, a nice sized playground, and a small restaurant. Parking is a bit tough, as the lots were loaded (it was a Saturday evening). Luckily we found street parking.

Beautiful park and pier! We walked to the end of the pier and enjoyed the view and breeze! There were people fishing and they were all very friendly. The playground area was very clean and people were having parties in the pavilions.

There's always something beautiful to see at Ballast Point Pier and Park. The water, the painted skies, the dive-bombing birds, squirrels in the park, friendly hellos, people fishing off the pier, children playing in the playground, enjoying ice cream, or the peaceful view of the Downtown Tampa skyline. There's alot to enjoy.

Beautiful spot, and we saw dolphins! I lived off Bayshore for a year or so and never went. Biggest regret ever. Be prepared that parking is limited.

Very nice park with free parking. It features a splash pad, toddler playground, and big kid playground. Picnic shelters and barbecues, fishing pier, boat ramp, and equestrian center across the street.

Great park with a large pier and playground. There is a public boat ramp to launch a boat at no cost and a restaurant and bait shop on site as well Parking at times can be a challenge but the park has something for almost everyone to enjoy. Also a great place for the sunrise!

The park has a good variety of things fir kids to do (playground, swings, splash pad, and walking trails). I also like that it has a fishing pier and a small restaurant on site. Great for a family day outing.

Bathrooms are not very clean tho, so I'd suggest to go to the restroom before coming.

Came here to fish- arrived early and enjoyed a beautiful day on the pier, practically had the place to ourselves other than occasional folks taking a stroll. Was a great place to cast some lines and enjoy brunch al fresco- also, clean bathrooms right at the foot of the pier. 10/10 will go back, loved it!

Very clean and lovely place. I love fishing here as well because the restaurant also sales bait so if you looking to just take a breather for a few hours and/or get the kid out the house it works

A pier, a restaurant, and a playground/splash pad. What more could you want?

Parking: There is plenty of parking in front of the playground itself, but also on the other side of the nearby rec center. The lot does get full after school on hot days because of the splash pad.

Fencing: Not fully fenced (splash pad is fully fenced, though). However, there is enough immediate fencing to give the illusion that it is to younger children. The road is quite a ways out from the play equipment, so even without a fence, you’d have time to catch them before they made a run for it.

Bathrooms: The bathrooms are located in the building housing the restaurant. The men’s bathrooms are on the back side closest to the play area. The women’s is on the front of the building facing the parking lot. I cannot attest to the men’s, but the women’s does have a changing table and hand dryer. It is big enough for a stroller to enter, but it can be a squeeze getting it into the stalls if needed.

Trash: There are a few trash cans around. While this park is generally clean, we’ve had to pick up trash a few times because the wildlife like to rummage in the rubbish.

Shade: There are shade covers over most of the play equipment; however, it can still be very sunny in the middle of the day (especially at the main swings). The tree coverage is off to the side of the equipment. There are two baby swings near the splash pad that are in tree cover. For reference, the photos were taken around 9:00 am.

Water: Water fountain works and has a convenient water bottle filling station. Located near the back of the restaurant.

Flooring: Rubberized flooring under the larger play equipment; wood chips under the swings and small play structure.

Safety: I’ve never had an issue at this playground. While there are usually people present at picnic tables under pavilions who do not have children, my children have not once been approached by anyone. There are typically fitness groups, cyclists, and people with other interests around as well, so it’s pretty heavily populated.

The pier is close by, but enough out of sight that children wouldn’t start running toward it. Also, that is the side with the most fencing. It’s a great walk if your kids are up to it!

On another note, I’ve never tried the restaurant, but it’s certainly convenient. There is a beautiful wall mural on the far side of the park green space near a banyan (?) tree. Just gorgeous!

I love this park. Great for kids and adults. Relaxing views with a couple of swings near the water. There's a fishing pier also. You can rent pavilions for your party. The only cons I have is the parking is not sufficient for this park. And This park is pretty crowded now especially on weekends. Other than that it's a good park to visit
