I've been a member of this church for many years now. It never stops feeling like home. The people here are wonderful loving people who are more worried about loving you than judging you. I'd always felt ostracized at most every other church I've been to, but this one has never treated me that way. Sunday school starts at 9 AM and the worship service is at 10:15 AM.

Love going to church here, always feels like a big family where everyone knows each other and talks to each other. If someone from the church sees you in public they'll even say Hello. Much better than really big churches, even though it's a small church it feels like a big family.

🤗Wow! If you had ever told me I’d be going to a “Baptist” church…I would have thought you to be crazy!!! Not that I have ANYTHING against any part of the church body…but everyone has a way they learn….way they worship God…etc. What is “Perfect” for one may be complete opposite for another! While one may worship & praise God in silence, on their knees, their head reverently bowed before Christ😌..another may feel like he can’t contain it & worships by raising his hands🤗 &, oh my-even sway a little,or outright shouting praise & dancing before God! David…the one who wrote many of the Psalms, felt such joy & deliverance that he was dancing!!! (Naked!!) 😵(NO…please don’t try that naked part while in any “church” function or service!!). Some may REALLY enjoy & need the “freedom” (?) they have in a charismatic congregation; while another finds it too distracting! All in all we NEED UNITY amongst all who believe in our Lord Jesus Christ & share in “our hope” (which is NOT a pre or mid trib rapture!!!!) of our resurrection/transformation into the Kingdom of God!!! Our hope is in the promised eternal life with Jesus! In this…Unity!!! All other things we can agree to disagree….but the Word of God in any translation is clear that we can’t say we don’t need each other! A lesson recently learned by me: That also includes not amputating myself from gathering with others in Christ! I can’t ever think again of myself not being needed! (Life circumstances can leave one feeling that way!!!)
Moving here to London, AR from California…(again!) I thought when we were settled in that I would be introducing my hubby to the church I used to attend in Russellville almost a decade ago…but God guided us rather to London First Baptist Church.
To repeat what I first stated, “Wow!” I have NEVER been to a “church” where I have been SO WELCOMED…NOT JUDGED…ACCEPTED RIGHT IN…EVEN TREATED AS IF I DO MATTER! Wow! In addition, Brett’s messages have been VERY insightful, knowledgeable and really encouraging for today!!!! He does NOT take scripture out of context! My hubby n I are “seasoned” Christians if around 47 years. We have needed “tough meat to chew on” yet understand that so many are desperate for “milk” still…(see scriptures regular regarding this subject)….Yet we find the messages taught here are very well rounded for all. Granted….for the much tougher learning, I need to listen to God myself n dive into the Word!!!!
I, like SO MANY... have been wounded almost irreparably by another “church”….So much so that despite my own history with my relationship with God, I did not listen to those who warned me I was in a “cult” & had acted on & eventually thought, “If This is what true Christianity is, I don’t want anything to do with it!” I am so thankful though for that relationship that I did have with God… And as He warned me and cautioned me… I did turn my life quickly back around! I came back to Him! And praise God for His grace and mercy! Praise God for sending his son Jesus… And praise Jesus for having given his life for his blood to wash me clean of what I have done what I do and what I will do that I don’t want to do… In the future! I praise God for his compassion and mercy and grace that we two are to impart to others! To reach out to them… Not to Ostercise them from the church body! Literally run after them and help them! Bring them back!
I had really gotten so much out of Pastor Bret messages that I actually sent a link to my mother in Nevada… And to another person here in Arkansas… From a week ago’s message! It was the one about God is doing something different! That was phenomenal! That was simple thought and understanding… However to really apply and understand that God is into doing something new… Not repeating the same things over & over… Don’t look for God to do the same thing because He does things better & new every time!
I absolutely love this group of people here! I pray that God will use this church family to bring unity to our community & the entire church body-Unwavering from the WORD!!
