Smokehouse Restaurant

Lovely service, even though we walked in an hour to close. I had a delicious mushroom swiss burger, Mom had a French dip, and Dad ordered a finger steak basket, all of which were wonderful. Glad to see a place like this exists in La Grande, we'll definitely be back.

What a great place when in La Grande! The staff was very welcoming when coming through door - it was like they'd seen us before and were glad we were back. The waitress was super friendly recommending what to order. We loved that they serve breakfast through the whole time they're open. Food was hot, fresh, and homemade!

We came here for breakfast food was excellent. But I'm writing the review specifically because there are only a handful of places in this country that know how to cook a country fried steak, little known, know what one is. A chicken fry and a country fried steak are two different cooking methods of the same steak. I ordered the country fried steak for lunch it was spectacular. The breading on the steak held to the meat, and it was the perfect amount of breading and seasoning. The cream gravy was creamy and peppery as it should be. Most places have issues keeping the breading to adhere to the meat, so you are left with breading all over your plate and a bare piece of meat. Not here! Best country fried steak I've had in ages. Except for those I cook myself at home...lol. excellent job guys.

The name of the place might make you think of a BBQ or smoked meats; not so. They have good country cooking; but sadly no smoked brisket, pork butt, turkey, sausage or the like. None the less, a good place to eat. Highly recommend.

Good food and excellent service. A lot of options on the menu. I had the Denver omelette. Will definitely return and recommend.

I-84 was closed due to weather conditions and had to kill some time. Always like finding the local spots and this place is awesome. Damn near home made food, very friendly staff and obviously repeat locals they know by name. Doubt you would be disappointed if you stopped bye.

Food was delicious and the service was impeccable.

I got the corn beef hash with sauteed onion and bell peppers in scrambled eggs with rye toast and black coffee!

Stopped by the Smokehouse while out on a drive. The food was excellent! Homemade food for sure! They had chicken fried chicken that was delicious!
The waitress was very attentive and top notch! The food came out really fast!
We will definitely stop here again!

Great service above all, the food wasn't bad either.
All of the restaurants in town were closed for varying reasons, this was the only one open and handled the crowd of people beautifully.

Busiest diner with amazing meats!
Exactly what you'd expect from a bustling diner. Great food, busy service and a consistent line at the door. Our table had scrambles, omelettes and pancakes. No complaints.

Drove over from Baker City because the reviews were so good, hands down great service and fabulous breakfeast find! The food was fresh, hot and good portions for your money ! Will come back here again

It took a while to get our meals, but there’s a reason: good things sometimes take time. Everything was excellent! Best fish and chips we’ve had in a while, awesome burgers, and amazing fries! We definitely plan on making it a regular stop!

My grandma took me here for the first time and it was fabulous! We were greeted by the girls and seated quickly and are order was out before we even finished our salads from there noticeable clean salad bar! We got the chicken fried steak and it was the best I've found around n.e oregon! I was highly impressed!!

Great service and friendly staff. Mandy is a wonderful hostess who likes to make sure you feel at home. Nikki likes to make sure you have everything you need. Chefs are A+. Food was good and reasonable price. Don't miss the cheesecake and choose your topping.

Love the pancakes! Our adult family of 4 have stopped in several times for breakfast! Usually long wait times, but just plan for it!! Will be back!

Awesome, homemade meals. As a retired cook, I can tell that they put Love into every plate. The service was great. Never had to wait at all. The prices are really good. Better than you would expect for a diner style restaurant. My wife and I had our 20th anniversary breakfast. The cooks heard from the waitress about our anniversary. They went ahead and paid for our entire meal (still tipped the waitress because that's just good form). My wife had eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was made to order. I had biscuits and gravy. I could tell that that was completely made in the restaurant.
I go there pretty often now and would recommend The Smokehouse to anybody passing through or near La Grande. If you're looking for a great breakfast or lunch with inexpensive homemade, handmade with love , stop by.

This is a fantastic place to eat. The pulled pork sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. The staff is friendly and the owner is very nice. I highly recommend this place.
