Wow what a wonderful campground! We stayed in B20, which is the last site on the river. Not much traffic. A few neighbors. Beautiful level site with a nice table, lantern hook and fire pit. Huge dead tree by the river that an eagle visited every day. River access was not easy.

We finally got to experience a boat going through! Was a pretty cool experience to share with our son! Happened to be there just at the right time. We sat there for about an hour or so waiting and almost gave up when the gate finally opened. Not to mention the beautiful sight of the Arkansas River was great!

I have loved this park since my childhood. There are plenty of pavilions/picnic tables, camping, a few playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, hiking/mountine bike trails, diskgolf and river access for fishing, The only thing I miss from my childhood was being able to walk out on the dam above the lock to watch the boats come through.
I bring my granddaughter and we spend much of the day here.

The photos we posted are from the flooding happening now in May 2019. I grew up playing in Old Post Road park, and still enjoy it today.

Haven’t been here in a long time…not since I use to play ball here…softball and basketball. Good to see people still come out and shoot hoops here.

One of our favorite campgrounds! It's very shady and usually very quiet.

One of my favorite disc golf courses. And with the dam in the background, makes for some gorgeous views

Super nice and spacious park. My hubs and I like to have a picnic lunch there on pretty days. It is so peaceful and we'll kept. We love getting to see the water too. A great place to go walking, play disc golf, volleyball among other sports. Plus a nice playground. They also have large covered seating areas for big groups. Our home school group even meets there every year for their Field Day event. A truly awesome park.

Great park that I used to visit as a kid in high school. Very spacious and peaceful. Bringing my daughter here was a great experience. She loved the playground equipment and meeting the other kids. There were not many people there which gave plenty mobility and space to roam around and enjoy the river rolling by. The educational visitors center is only open Monday through Friday but has so much information on the location. This is a great park for riding bikes, frisbee golf, skating, or just going for a walk. The soccer field was having a tournament but it was just far enough away from the actual park that it wasn’t a disturbance.

I love seeing boats go through dams and this is a great place to see them. You can also walk along the banks of the rivers or just sit in your car and listen to music. It's a popular spot and highly recommend a visit.

Love this park. We go for great disc golf course, and love it. There's a great park to for little ones, and if the weather's good (not too windy) you can picnic by the water 😀

We went to our granddaughter's birthday party and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. It was shady with a lot of trees and Pavilion. Across the strait the children were able to play volleyball in plain sight of the adults. And very good place for family get-together.

I'm not sure why this is referred to as a rest stop. It's a pretty vast park and RV site probably built by the Army Corp of engineers. Lots of park/picnic/camping types of things to do there.

I haven't come here for an event but I can tell you it's a good place to have one. There's trees, parks for kids, pavilions, theres a spot to fish, in the spring time there's berries you can pick by the stairs close to the dam. And just kind of a side note for fellow Trainers, there's one pokestop ;) you're welcome lol

Had to repeatedly tell my visiting relative that it was free to use everything she saw there. It's a great place to let kids play on the playground or have a barbeque for two or two hundred.

Walked around after a stressful day and it really helped to just walk and absorb the environment and tune out work and the grind from life.
