Very cute hotel. My room had a nice view of the mountains. Bartender was friendly and a pleasure to talk with. Location is very convenient to walk around town.

This is a super cute & quaint hotel. It's quite my husband & I slept well. The town is small. There are no new hotels in the area so this is a definite recommendation if you're in the area.

A must stay if you are ever in the La Grande area and need accommodations. What a gem! My husband and I, plus teen daughter stayed in an upstairs room that was actually two rooms with a shared bathroom - one with a king bed and the other with a queen. The beds were so comfortable. Everything was very clean and uncluttered, with all the basic amenties needed. We had drinks and relaxed in the downstairs restaurant. The drinks (were great as was the atmoshere) before heading out to dinner. Which was a mistake, as we should have just eaten at The Laurel. Small menu, but from what we saw of the appetizers and dinners as we were sipping our drinks, it looked soooooo much tastier than we ended up with. It was quiet despite being on a main road. The other rooms looked to all be booked, but we never heard or saw anyone. There’s a shared balcony upstairs with seating and view of the street activity. Entrance after hours is by secure code to the building itself plus a separate code to the room. We felt very safe coming and going. We enjoyed coffee and a delicious breakfast sandwich in the morning at The Local right across the street. The historic hotel is within walking distance of shops and other restaurants. If our plans call for us to be back in the area, we would definitely stay here again over a regular hotel. And, we'll eat at the restaurant!

This place was simply a joy for us to stay at! Mikayla welcomed us with a complimentary glass of wine. She was a joy to visit with. It is quaint and beautiful, IT'S IMMACULATE and updates were done so tastefully! The night's sleep was wonderful cozied up in luxurious linens. The location is within walking distance of several brew pubs and an ice cream shoppe is located directly across the street.

We loved this place and wished we could have stayed more than just one night. We would highly recommend to anyone who wants to feel pampered surrounded by a "day's gone by" quaint atmosphere.

My stay here was absolutely fabulous! This was my second work trip to La Grande and if I'm ever back I will absolutely stay here again. Much better than the other hotel options in town.

The bed was extremely comfortable! The location cannot be beat - you can walk to all the fun places! The shower worked super well. I loved the provided noise machine for sleeping - I never had any issues with it being too noisy to sleep. It was a bit difficult to maintain a cool enough temperature for myself for sleeping but I was also there during a very warm spell! I do not hold that against them at all. Check in and check out were a breeze - it does feel a bit odd going into a restaurant to get to your room but you're in the right place! On top of all of that the complimentary wine in the afternoons was greatly appreciated. I also highly recommend checking out the local across the street (owned by the same people) - they have great breakfast options and a wonderful patio to sit at.

We loved this cute spot and the breakfast is amazing! Only issue we had was the heater in our room was very difficult to turn on (radiator), almost as is if it was stuck but we were warm enough all night during a snow storm so it wasn't a big deal. We would definitely stay here again and have breakfast here!

Can only speak to The Laurel restaurant. Delicious drinks & food. Great service & very nice people. We took our daughter there for their birthday & had a very pleasant time. Highly recommended.

This review is for the dining room only. We called ahead to take advantage of their carry-out dinner service. The staff were so welcoming despite it being pretty busy when we arrived. We enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar while they got our food packaged to go with great attention to detail. Dinner was delicious - hope to stay in the hotel next time we pass through.

We stayed here with 2 other couples on our way to the Oregon coast. The hotel is oozing with character and charm. The room was adorable, the bed was comfortable with high quality linens. The floors were squeaky, which was fine for us , but would have probably stressed me out if our kids were with us. But, it just added to the charm. And if you stay here, you MUST eat breakfast here. Everything we ordered was delicious! My husband and I ate every last bite of our oatmeal and the lemon curd is to die for! Would definitely recommend this to our friends and stay again.

Merlin and his wife took an eyesore out of La Grande and turned it into one of the most glorious restaurants. Me and my wife went to the other day and had breakfast and it was very delightful sitting out front on the porch and the prices are absolutely reasonable for everything going on in the United States with the inflation you can actually sit down and have a marvelous meal without breaking the pocketbook. Congratulations Merlin on an awesome restaurant.

This place is just the best!! We stayed here for 2 nights, the rooms are so adorable, homey, and super cozy! The owners are so sweet and their hearts for the community is amazing. Now the food… is incredible!! Do not hesitate to make a dinner reservation because everything is incredibly delicious! Breakfast was yummy too! I’m so grateful for this experience!

My wife and I had a wonderful two nights here last week. This small former boarding house has been redone in a way that contrasts the original frontier architecture with sophisticated design touches.

We felt quickly at home. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. It may even have rubbed off - I found myself feeling concern that we not leave anything that might inconvenience the next guests. I am not an abuser of hotel rooms, particularly, but I can't say I've felt that way that before.

The inviting open, very comfortable downstairs bar / dining area / living room has a beautifully curated library of about 100 volumes that exemplified how much care and attention has been invested here. It had everything from the Bible to modern French novels.

The food here was marvelous. The first night I had a ribeye steak with the chef's King Joseph sauce that was really succulent. My wife had seared halibut that was equally good. My wife ran into Merlyn Baker, the aptly named chef, having a glass of wine after dinner and he was able to recommend some good local wines to bring home. Breakfasts were good as well. The attentive and friendly service deserves mention as well.

In short, we highly recommend The Landing. The only negative thing to mention is that the railroad is a block behind the hotel, and trains run at night, so bring earplugs.

The hotel was so quaint and inviting with its touch of rustic and modern décor. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Love that you can have a relaxing evening sitting out on the balcony of the second floor with a glass of wine from the bar downstairs. The restaurant is amazing! Delicious homemade scones for breakfast and oh, those crab cakes for dinner were excellent!!! I definitely will stay there again....

Absolutely love this hotel, it’s the cutest. The room was so cozy and homey. The bathroom was super cute and clean the only thing that I found was a couple hairs that weren’t mine on the shower walls. We had a great stay we also had breakfast the next morning it was so delicious! We had missed dinner due to it was too late to order so we went up to our room, when we left to pick up our takeout the gentleman server apologized and felt bad he didn’t know we were guests. Everyone was so kind we will most definitely be back for a stay at this hotel again sometime in the future.

So amazing... the owner/chef is very nice and hospitable, and his food made me double check that I was in fact still in a small OR town and not a fancy coast city as I inhaled my seafood fettichini Alfredo. The beds were so comfy it was hard to leave them. The private second story balcony with dining/seating is a wonderful bonus for guests. Definitely have it saved and bookmarked for all future trips!!

Had dinner here with @Drinksatthelaurel and it was delicious and fun. They even got the hubs to try and to like an almond cake. Everything was delicious. Gorgeous little place.

After two flight cancelations we opted to drive from Seattle to Salt Lake City. The Landing was a fantastic oasis. We were served a late dinner at closing. The room was warm and comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. Look forward to returning under more pleasant circumstances.

Beautiful rooms and service. We had the entire place for our family wedding and our experience was amazing. The rooms were truly classy in both style and quality. Made our visit with family a memory of exquisite comfort and delicious food! You must enjoy this experience.

Such a cute place! Stayed here since it was a little over halfway on our drive from Pocatello to Portland. Super easy to get to from the freeway. We were really looking forward to eating dinner there and getting a drink but plans changed and we ended up getting after the kitchen was closed. There's a very cute balcony that we'll be using next time we have a chance to stay here. The breakfast was wonderful! Highly recommend the pesto panini.

This was an absolutely lovely stay. The building has been beautifully renovated while maintaining the charm of an older home. The family who owns it is very kind and attentive. We stayed in the King suite #1. The room was cozy, clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable, easily the best we slept on during our trip. We ordered breakfast at the bar (the Alaskan Salmon bagel, huckleberry scone with Devonshire, country breakfast, and espresso) and it was sooo good. Scrumptious. I wish we could have stayed longer to try their dinner menu. If we pass through La Grande again, we will make sure to stop by for a bite to eat at the very least. If you get the opportunity to stay for a night or two in La Grande, I highly recommend the Landing.
