Recently visited to get new license plates after moving back to Iowa. The interior still had COVID precautions, including restrictions on when to enter the office and barriers between the employees and the public (I like that those are still there). Although I had gone to this location mistakenly (was supposed to go to a different office) they helped me transfer my title and get new plates. I was done within 10 minutes. Scott county is a great place to live, these guys really helped me out!

Clean place with nice people working here. I hate it when there's a long wait but normally I get threw quickly. The numberes are confusing but it don't matter what number you have its first come first serve.

MY LICENSE STICKER DID NOT HAVE ANY GLUE EXCEPT ON THE UPPER LEFT CORNER. Call the treasurer, they tell you to call DVL. You call them and they put you on hold with a recorded message to call the treasurer. $433 I paid for this.

Crazy you can’t even turn your phones on when you’re open…

I called the general store to see what was needed to convert a mobile home title to a junking certificate.

The phone call was transferred to the courthouse after I had called several times receiving the recording.

I was told that they are really busy at the general store and usually CAN'T answer the phone, the lady answered my question and I immediately left for the general store that's less than five minutes from my house.

I WAS LITERALLY THE ONLY CUSTOMER IN THE BUILDING AT 1PM.

I have NUMEROUS complaints about the ineptitude of the employees and when attempting to redress these issues I'm told that I should just deal with it.

The absolute worst part is that the same employees that are the root of these issues bounce between the general store and the courthouse so you can't just choose to go to one or the other.

While waiting almost 45 minutes for the nine customers ahead of me to complete their business, I witnessed the employees not offering solutions, but instead making things as difficult as possible for customers. It wasn't just one employee, it was all of them. It was so bad, I think maybe it's a game for them and intentional. If not, they are the most uneducated set of employees I have seen, and the sad part is I have seen many of them there in previous years. How can you be in a job for years and still not know the job?

One example (generalized for privacy): A customer says, this is what I would like to happen, the employee says no that's not possible. The customer keeps pushing, and then the answer changes to....You can't do that unless you fill out an application. The customer replies, 'Ok, I will fill out the application', the employee responds, 'well you can't do that until you do this other thing'. The customer says...ok, well how do I do that other thing? This back and forth went on for 30 minutes for what could of been a 5 minute interaction had the employee just offered the solution in the first place. It seemed to much trouble to jump through the hoops though, so I guess the initial no and all the subsequent foot dragging was an easier answer. The funniest part about this example, is at the end, the employee was explaining what would happen, and it was damn near word for word exactly what the customer asked for in the first place.

I witnessed the same thing with at least 5 of the other people in front of me, and by the time my number was called, I was not at all confident I would make it through without an issue.

All I needed to do was renew my tags and update my address since I have moved. I gave my new "New Liberty, IA" address, only to be told that New Liberty is not in Scott County. I ended up leaving after arguing for 5 minutes that New Liberty is definitely in Scott County. Luckily, the employee didn't return my receipt for the previous year that I had handed her, so I called a few neighbors before going back in to retrieve it. Of course they all said what I already knew to be true, New Liberty is in Scott County.

I sat and waited for the employee that I dealt with to finish up with her current customer, and then darted over to her counter before she could call the next number. I told her I called a few neighbors to confirm that New Liberty is in Scott County. This interaction pissed me off even more, she said a total of three sentences during the entire 5 minute interaction:
1st: Hold on (As she walked away to ask someone else)
2nd: What's your address again?
3rd: That will be $55

What about "Sorry, my mistake'? Haha, yeah right! How the heck do you not know what cities/towns are in Scott County....it's your damn job to know!

Found out Wells Fargo never released the lien on a truck paid off 28 days after it was purchased. And we had traded it in for a larger engine. Wow, couldn't believe it.
