The TaVern at 156 Restaurant & Bar

We went to The TaVern at 156 Restaurant & Bar on Sunday! After seeing people's rave reviews on the North Shore Eats Facebook page and from my parents I knew I had to give it a try! I got the Spicy Tavern Burger: Pepperjack stuffed patty, between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with cheddar cheese and chipotle crema and let me just say 😱😍😛 If you finish it you get a free t-shirt! I did not finish it but wow it was delicious! Also got roasted brussel sprouts as my side and they were cooked perfectly with a delicious balsamic reduction! My friend got the Steak Tips: 1 lb Root Beer BBQ marinated steak tips and the brussel sprouts and spinach as her sides. She loved the whole meal! Highly recommend this place for delicious food and the staff was super friendly! They opened during COVID so show them some love!

Worth every penny. Got appetizers, drinks, and a few entrees to split with friends. Obsessed with the farmers salad with salmon!!! The portions are ridiculously huge. Definitely coming back with a great group. Ended the meal with the gluten free brownie sundae- AMAZING!!!

Food tasted great, service was good and the food was priced right.

Food was exceptionally good. This compares to any Upscale restaurant in Boston. Melt in your mouth Steak tips were best I’ve ever had! Chicken fingers were fantastic! Atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. Anyone that lives in this area is lucky to have this place. I came down from NH hearing that this was a place to not miss. Well done to the chef and owners! We will be back.

The food here is awesome! Everyone at my table ordered something different (steak tips, burgers, southern comfort) along with apps, and nobody was disappointed. The sangria and ice cream cookie sandwich dessert were fabulous too. We came in on a Saturday night, and the place was clean and everyone was properly distanced. I definitely recommend eating here!

Best burger ever! I started off with fried pickles and shrimp tacos which were perfect! I had the 156 Burger and topped it off with a peach passion. Both were amazing!! The owner was so nice, he checked up on us during our meal. I ended my experience with a Ganache Brownie sundae!! Amazing food, great atmosphere and amazing service! 10/10 for vibes!!

What a great experience! Had takeout last night, had expectations of pub food but it was so much more! Woman who took my call was so kind and not rushed. Food was excellent, burger, chicken waffle sandwich, tenders all excellent, potato dippers were delicious and different. Really can't say enough good things We're so glad we have this tavern in our neighborhood!

Great place that recently opened. Went in to eat tonight with a party of 6. Food came out quick and every person loved what they got! The apps were just as good especially the cheese steak rolls! Great beer on tap! As well as a variety of great mixed drink specials. The staff was all super friendly! Will be back for sure!

First time at The TaVern and we were not disappointed. Everything was delicious and prepared perfectly. We started with the steak and cheese egg rolls. They were excellent. For dinner we had the steak tips with the sauteed spinach and the potato dippers, and the scallops with brussel sprouts. Delicious! The have a full bar with a great beer selection. Melissa our server was very friendly and attentive. We will be back!

Owner is a class act down to earth guy really enjoyed talking with him. He cares about his customers and employees. Food is really great loved everything couldn't get enough if I'm ever in the area again that's the first place I'm going. made my wife and I feel very welcome never had such a great experience at a restaurant before they went above and beyond. he explained the menu and cared to find out about his customers. if you want excellent service this is the place I recommend 10 out of 5 stars you wont be disappointed

So good that I’ve ordered from here 2 out of the 3 days they’ve been open!! The tangy chili wings have the perfect little kick and the root beer bbq wings are delicious as well! Prices are reasonable, portions are just right and the quality is great! The staff is wonderful too. Can’t wait until they open for indoor dining. Highly recommend!

Great meal tonight! The shrimp tacos were the best I ever had and my husband loved his steak tips. Desserts were excellent as was the service. Nice inside, clean and following Covid guidelines closely.

Great meal. Steak and cheese roll were delicious. Didn't care for the mustard on plate.
Ruben sandwich was excellent. The french fries are weird. Lol more air than fry. Even my 6 year old commented on them. They are crunchy though.
BFC chicken and waffles delicious and way too much of a portion. Mac and cheese and brussel sprouts were tasty. Definitely recommend a visit here. Staff was accommodating and very nice. We went before the dinner rush. Plenty of leftovers. Took pictures when we started eating.

We had a great dinner for two. Started with fried pickles which were outstanding! Steak tips and scallops with sides were perfect. Service was exceptional. Beers were really cold😎

The wings were one of the best I ever had. Had the Reuben sandwich and was a New York style cooked to perfection. I was very comfortable eating inside with the cleanliness and social distancing. Highly recommend!

Great meal, Lori ranked Kalespinach salad a top 5 all time + she knows salads. Wine very good at reasonable price. Nice atmosphere

Great food and great service this is the best restaurant in the north shore hands down. The manager Morty was amazing great customer service and the meals are perfect and came in a timely manner. Definitely recommend this place!
