Went here for the first time, after visiting several other fabric stores, searching for fabric for a window seat. They have a great selection of beautiful fabrics at reasonable prices. One other store wanted me to look through books of boring fabrics ranging in prices well over $100/yard up to $150/yard.
Zimmans has an amazing selection of fabrics
averaging between $30-50/yard. Those are the fabrics I was looking at though there may be fabrics more or less than that. I bumped into one of the sales ladies, Judy, who was helpful in guiding me around. I found a fabric and am having them make the cushion for my window seat. Can’t wait til I get it.
Update: very happy with my cushion that they made. And though I was told it might be 10-12 weeks, it was finished in about 4 weeks!

So this is where I work and I must say it's one of the most interesting jobs I've had. It's a huge old fashioned fabric/furniture store. Building has 4 floors total and all are accessible to customers. Basement has remnants, trims, and hydes, main floor has all the beautiful fabrics, 2nd and 3rd floors have all the furniture. We have over 150,000 selections of fabrics. I do stock so I'm the guy responsible for inventory and delivery I love seeing and feeling all the new fabrics that we get.

Loved this fabric store. So much choice. Staff is friendly and helpful. The choice of fabrics here is amazing. It helped that I found what I was looking for, fabric shopping not being my cup of tea. Can't wait to go back and get inspired to recover, make curtains, reupholster!

Incredible selection of fabrics for window treatments, pillows and upholstery. Great values on high end designer fabrics for the home. Beautiful furniture, lighting and accessories stylishly displayed.

This store is amazing!! It has a gigantic selection of fabrics and very nice & helpful staff. Parking was easy and downtown Lynn has great places for coffee or a meal to make your Zimman's shopping expedition extra fun.

If you're ever in need for material to cover an old couch, or to make new pillows, or whatever the do-it-yourself need, nothing beats the old Zimman's Dept Store in Lynn. Just an amazing collection of fabrics piled ceiling to floor and wall to wall, a maze of sorts that's just total fun to explore. Be sure to find the basement will tons of cut foam, fabric remnants, and their custom fabrication shop. And the two upstairs floors with fine furniture. Worth spending a couple of hours there. Very friendly and helpful staff as well!

Amazing customer service skills. Friendliness varies from very to very, very, very! Always great at listening and asking all the right questions. Never have a prob with our bizarre requests and stock is consistently phenomenal.

Some days are hit or miss when searching for a specific fabric, but this store is consistently the best resource for decorative fabrics and trims in Massachusetts. The upper floors are dedicated to furnishings and rugs and many treasures can be found there. I have been sewing all my adult life and I have been shopping there for 30 years or more. As I look around my home, I spy many of their fabrics and trims. Sometimes, it is a lush velvet silk remnant that I have found to make a pillow, other times it is many yards for bedding and window treatments. Their staff is knowledgeable. I really enjoy working with Stephanie Lavoie. She is a stellar employee; she is professional, helpful and knowledgeable.

Great selection of interior decor fabrics. Excellent craftsmanship. Decent pricing. The older staff are very knowledgeable. Younger staff are very friendly and helpful but not as good at answering questions.

Just had very dated sofa and love seat completely reupholstered. I worked with Pon in showroom and John in workroom. The sofas were transformed into two modern pieces ready for my daughter's NYC apartment. Even helped me set up delivery. They rushed the order and came out amazing. Can't wait to work with them again! Great job!

I have been using Zimmans as my primary source for fabrics for clients for years. I can not say enough about the friendly and knowledgeable assistance that I receive consistently. The convenience of the huge display of high quality fabrics saves me time and money, I seldom have to look elsewhere.
I can t say enough about the professionalism of the entire staff from management to the stock people. I have brought small pieces of fabric to be matched and Billy will know just where to look to see if it is still in stock. Michael, Patty, Stephanie, Pon and Daniel are so helpful and friendly that after having an ankle injury, my
fabrics were even carried to my car. The sales staff from Glenn, Norma, Michelle, and the two Laura’s have years of experience and can answer any question you may have.
I highly recommend Zimmans, it is worth the drive if you are not close to Lynn.

Amazing throw back to a time when customer service was the most important part of the shopping experience! The building is huge and has more quality upolstery fabric, at every price point, than you have ever seen.

I had a chair slip cover done and the quality and fit are exceptional. It looks more like a reupholstery vs slipcover. Superb quality craftsmanship!

I wish cloning were available because I would have Daniel Zimman cloned and installed in every retail outlet I visit.

Somehow, at some point, retail became less about the customer and more about well…not the customer. That was not my experience at Zimman’s.

My husband and I went there on a recommendation from the designer we were working with from Ballard Designs. We arrived late on a Saturday, and while everyone was busy, someone was nice enough to stop and direct us to the section we were interested in.

Virtually before the doors were locked, Daniel Zimman (4th generation Zimman!) approached us to see if there were anything we needed.

From that point on, the experience was wonderful. When there wasn’t enough of the fabric we wanted, he found other samples promptly. He followed up but wasn’t pushy, knew a lot about color and texture so his choices were spot on, and eventually found us a fabric that we loved. A fabric store that has *tons* of choices and a helpful staff. What more could you ask for?

Zimman's has been our go to home furnishings emporium for years. Walking through the store is an experience. There are so many exquisite options and the staff offers professional guidance that will excel your expectations. Furnishing our new condo was a joy thanks to Zimman's.

If you want one of a kind superior quality upholstery material, this is the place for you! I frequent the basement, which has remnants of up to 1 or five or more yards! Quiet place if you need something reupholstered, drinks made, or DIY-ers!
