I absolutely LOVE this place! When you go eco-friendly, you got more natural. The less dyes and fragrances and harmful chemicals for the world AND your body -the better! I recently discovered my partner is very sensitive to cleaning products (both chemicals and instruments), laundry detergents, shaving needs (razors and cream), and many other things. Alexis is a true angel letting us test out products and give us great advice. I more than highly recommend this store. Check out their wooden scrub brushes: they are a lifesaver! And, you’re paying for excellent quality, not a brand name. I am so glad they have a brick-and-mortar location with a special area for vendors (the holiday vendors were superb). A must if you’re a good Chicagoan!

Since we have started going here, we have reduced our use of single use plastics by a lot! There are a number of great products that are way better than what you find in a conventional store with lots of packaging. The Myni multi-surface wash, the laundry detergent (unscented), toothpaste tabs, dental floss, dishsoap, foaming hand soap, dried mango, grains (rice, etc) and spices are some of our regular purchases. We love discovering new products and return regularly to stock up on our favorites. Saving jars from jam or tomato sauce has been easy to do. Highly recommend!!

Stopped in to try the laundry detergent. Got a jar at the store but you can bring in your own. Large selection of spices and dried fruits too. Gotta remember to save my jars to donate or use for future purchases.

I can't explain how happy I am that I found this place. Not only do they have great, eco friendly stuff, BUT they also have products where you can bring your own container and fill them up. This isn't uncommon for nuts and grains, but they have this option for shampoos, detergent, soap, lotion, etc. I LOVE it and this is where I'll be buying all my stuff from from now on

I've been searching for an eco-friendly / zero-waste store for ages and finally found one in the city! You can bring in your own jars to fill up with pantry items, soaps, etc. They also have a good variety of other products including coffees, toiletries, cleaning products, ... I've found the prices are higher than a conventional grocery store, but typically worth it for most items for the sake of being more environmentally friendly imo.

I can save money here since spices are so expensive and you often rarely need certain ones for a recipe. I also found a unique item here for cleaning your hair brush. It’s a small tool.

LOVE this place. All sorts of awesome products and the staff is super friendly. Plus! They recently expanded the space so you can fill most of your own food yourself which makes for a more approachable/fun shopping experience. Highly recommend!

This small business is great! In addition to the great products they sell, I keep learning more and more about what they are doing to help the environment, and I couldn’t be more impressed. You can drop off Amazon mailers, used tooth brushes and razor blades, and they will give them to companies that will reuse them or recycle them. Please patronize Eco Flamingo!

I got a bamboo toothbrush and a bamboo brush for dishes in 2021. They lasted much longer than anything plastic would have.

We come here every few weeks for our dry goods (rice, sugar, spices, beans, etc), and are never disappointed! Buying in bulk here has saved us money and time, and the staff are so friendly and fast when filling up our 15+ jars. This shop has a really excellent selection if you are looking to expand your zero waste living into personal care or cleaning supplies (the kiddo has really loved the toothpaste options), and we usually come home with a new product to try. Highly recommend stopping in with some jars if you are in the area!

Really beautiful shop with lovely employees. I got a TON of stuff for $50 - organic wild rice, organic sushi rice, dried apple slices, veggie chips, brown sugar, a linen reusable bag, popcorn kernels, and granola. It’s so nice to shop with no plastic or waste. Get the exact amount you want in your own reusable container. They have makeup, laundry soap, coffee, tea, flours, and so much more. They even have toothpaste tablets in bulk, so when mine run out, I’ll just bring the empty glass container and fill up. I live on the far NW side but don’t mind driving to be able to buy staples (and non-staples — like snacks) with no plastic. My days of unrecyclable plastic grocery garbage are over. The bonus is it is incredibly affordable! PLEASE say no to plastic and support this lovely store and its mission!

I've been coming here for a few months and it is truly the best bulk/zero waste supply store I've been to - not only in the area, but across multiple states. There is a variety of options for most products, all of which have proven to be high quality and cost effective in my experience. I visit regularly for refills on cleaning/bath/food products and always leave with something new to try as well. The staff are not only very informed (they've given lots of helpful tips and recommendations), but they are kind too, and they always answer my endless questions patiently. Love it here!

My sibling took me to this shop for my birthday. From the moment I stepped in, the vibes were amazing. Jackie was helping another customer at the front and I could tell she really cares about the environment and the shop itself. She let me take my time exploring, and when it came time to check out, she was so helpful! She was friendly, patiently answered all my questions, and thoroughly explained how to use my new items. She gave my group and me lots of info about sustainability activism in the area. I haven't used my silicon baking tray yet, but I absolutely adore my new safety razor, tongue scraper, and dish scrubber. I highly recommend this shop and hope to visit again soon!

Great new shop! They have so many amazing items. Super friendly people, too! They have plenty of bulk dried food, refillable soaps/laundry detergent, tea, zero waste supplies, and more! Plus they have a suggestion board, so if they’re missing something you want to see, they’re open to considering it. This is sure to become my new most frequented store.

Today we purchased dish soap, bath soak, and tea! We’ll be coming back for dried goods soon! (In their compostable bags).

SUCH a wonderful shop!! I’m so excited that the Chicago-land area finally has a dedicated zero-waste shop! I was super excited when I found out that they had bulk chocolate chips since I hadn’t been able to make chocolate chip cookies in a while since most chocolate chip cookies come packaged in plastic. So, I’m super excited that I’ve found a place that has such a wide bulk selection! I got to meet one of the owners and one of their employees and they were both so nice. I would highly recommend this shop! So great and so needed!

This shop is a wonderful zero-waste shop in Chicago. They have an excellent selection of bulk spices, teas and dry goods which they will package in your own jars for you. They also have bulk body products, cleaning supplies and a variety of beautiful textiles and other goods to support a low-waste lifestyle. The owners are both lovely, friendly people who are very knowledgable about every product that they sell. I cannot recommend this store highly enough, it is reasonably-priced and simply beautiful.
