Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Washington Square

Stayed one night with two kids and spouse in a one bedroom suite on the second floor. It was a Friday night, and we didn’t have any issues with the elevators that I saw complaints of in other reviews. The rooms were old but well maintained. I liked the spacious layout and the extra sink outside the bathroom. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap were provided in big refillable pumps, and were pleasant enough. The breakfast and evening reception was appreciated and of good quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The main issue I had was with the sofa bed. It was one of the old ones where you can feel the coils through the mattress and the bed creaks every time you turn over. I couldn’t in good conscience let my kids sleep on it. The curtain in the living area also wasn’t great at blocking out the outside light since there was a gap. That said, the main bedroom area was perfect. Dark and cool room with an extremely comfortable bed (the 15 minutes I snatched in the morning after a night on the sofa bed was heavenly!)

I’d visit again as long as I don’t depend on the sofa bed. Proximity to Target and some fast food joints made it perfect to get the kids what they needed for the night.

Spent 1 night there during the worst winter storm in recent Portland history. I live about a mile away and was one of thousands without heat or power in sub freezing temperatures.
This hotel really stepped up for the many last minute guests who arrived until they were full. Check in was all hands and efficient. The restaurant when it opened was immediately full with a 2 hour wait for a table which continued thru the night. Happy hour was packed. Throughout, the staff just kept working hard and maintaining a positive attitude.
I ordered ‘to go’ and while my burger took 1 1/2 hours to get, they called my room when it was ready. It was delicious and worth the wait!
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
I have traveled extensively and I am rarely impressed by a hotel. The staff here is to be commended for the service they provided to their hometown guests!!

This is a fantastic place to stay. Friendly and attentive staff with very clean rooms. Full breakfast buffet as well as custom-made items upon request. Breakfast was hot and delicious, with many options available. Rooms were quiet. There is a mall of sorts close by.

I love staying at this Embassy suites. Great location, great amenities and excellent service from all the staff! Special nods to Gia, Preston and Rachel at the front desk for being so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Chris at the in hotel Cascadia restaurant was also super cool and the food delish

We were 15 minutes from everything. Close to Lewis and Clark College. The rings are the typical Embassy Suites rooms, so spacious. The breakfast is the typical type for this chain, so excellent omelettes and sides are included in the morning. 25 minutes to the airport. All around convenient place to stay.

Oh my gosh . It was the most amazing beautiful experience!!!! The guest service is great . I work in a small hotel on the coast off high way 101. I can't wait to go back and do everything I can to help my hotel shine with guest pleasure LIKE THIS .... THANK SO MUCH

We would stay here again. Significant upgrade from hotel we stayed at on Cannon Beach the night before. Our dog was uncharacteristically comfortable in our room. The bed was very comfortable. Hotel staff were all very sweet and welcoming. Room itself was adequate for 3-star hotel. Complimentary breakfast and evening reception (cocktail event) far exceeded expectations.

Unfortunate temporary maintenance issue with boiler providing hot water, however, the issue was resolved the next morning. It’s worth recognizing that despite the sudden lack of hot water, we would still stay here again. I recommend guests bring a firestick, chromecast, or Roku, if you want to stream a service on the tv. Traditional streaming service login, as well as cell phone screen mirroring, is understandably not an option with the hotel tv firmware. Thankfully we were able to easily find some good family friendly movies to watch in the evening.

I have been going to embassy suites in tigard since i was a boy, and i have an honest review, if you have the time. I recently visited and got to take my children to my favorite hotel growing up where i experienced the best breakfast/afternoon snack, new years eve balloon drop, family friendly dance parties, movie theatre rooms where i watched classics, the pool and hot tub, friendly staff and competently handling sudden issues. I was intrigued to see how my kids responses would be and it was superb! The renovations are amazing, the staff has leveled up on guests satisfaction and quick to rectify anything that isnt meeting its mark. The beds were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms well maintained, we had an issue with the AC and it was fixed in less than an hour. Location is further away from the homeless which is getting worse in Portland.
Then the breakfast. Youre not going to find a better spread at these prices. Options. Lots of options. And im vegetarian.
It was such a treat to take my children where i have gone dozens of times. (Although i do miss that mini arcade) I will always go back to Embassy suites.

Room was good and had fantastic service. Only serious con is the location a ways away from Portland proper. Great hotel for the price

The only setback is the elevator service. Three observed, but only two seen operable. Lots of guests and rooms for the only two. Checkin was easy & quick with Preston and he also suggested many ideas and places while I’m in town couple days.

The rooms are nice and well maintained but somewhat dated. The bed was much softer than I liked, but that could be just what you are looking for.The front desk is awkwardly hidden behind a piller, which made checking in a little weird but I must say the service was excellent and the entire staff quite friendly and professional. The food and drinks were great, too. I don't like the location much as it is not easy getting in and out what with Portland traffic and all. All that said, I do recommend staying here. It was peaceful and pleasant and friendly and secure feeling.

Awesome crew, rooms are very nice, restaurant and room service food is great! There are a few things you can walk to and Washington Square mall is right next door and target is also walkable, good freeway access.

This is where I come to stay whenever I have to work in Portland. I love the staff and I got to meet some really cool managers like Richard. The rooms are quality and we’re right next to a mall when you stay there. I love this place too, because the breakfast is free and really really good. It’s a Buffay style. And they also have a happy hour in the late afternoon. It has really good snacks and all the drinks you want.

It's a great place to stay one night or three weeks. I've done both. It's central to almost everything. There is construction happening all around it, and at times, the noise can seep in. Bit the breakfast bar makes custom omelette options, they make pizzas for $10, they have guest bars with a reception at 5:30 with healthy snacks, and their Dining room serves Rib Eye Steak to your taste. Try their blackened salmon over Ceasars salad. And their Turkey Panini is great.

Great and enjoyable stay, Great location, close to many attractions!

We got a 2 queen suite on the 8th floor of expedia last minute. Very comfortable room with great beds. We all slept well. The pool was perfect for tiring out the kids. Our only complaint is for such a big hotel, there was only one working elevator. The free breakfast is also very good. Great value for the money and free parking. Not too far from downtown without the worry of your car getting broken into.

Excellent service at the front desk. Very helpful and patient. There is a nice gym if you want to get a workout in! Breakfast was included with your room and was very good! Omelets to order and buffet style breakfast makes the day start off easy. Drinks in the afternoon are also included from 5-7 for happy hour. Well appointed and chic decor. Spotless from top to bottom

The staff was amazing! Particularly the front desk and the wait staff in the restaurant. They were very nice and answered all my questions, super quick check in process, and very nice rooms with great amenities. Best hotel I've stayed at so far.
