Uncle Biff's California Killer Cookies

I hadn't been inside for more than 20 seconds, and I was greeted with a smile and had a fresh warm chocolate chip cookie in hand as a sample! I had been down the road nearby and craving a cookie, I Google searched and, to my delight, found this just 2 miles away. I bought a half dozen variety... because I just had to try everything! With half a dozen you get a free drink and then they threw in an extra cookie because I had mentioned which ones my kids would enjoy. Some of the best customer service that I've experienced anywhere in a long time! And the cookies were perfect!

I showed up a half hour before they closed and was blown away by the service and care of the staff on site. They explained all the flavors that were available and guided my choices. I chose a half dozen and tried most of the flavors. Each cookie was warm, gooey and delicious. These are your grandma's cookies. If grandma was a wizard in the kitchen :) Uncle Biff's isn't a recommendation, it's a must. Like right now!

Love this place! Best cookies I've had. This place is family owned, not a chain! They always make you feel like you're part of the family with cookies and milk just waiting for you in the kitchen when you show up.

If you're looking for that just fresh, homemade cookie like grandma use to make, you need to come stop by and get a half dozen (which comes with an extra free cookie). This is a wonderful family owned and operated local business that deserves your support. One bite, and you'll be hooked! The Salted Carmel chocolate chip is my favorite. They have a nice selection of fresh and warm cookies, and you can even get a glass of milk. The dough isn't shipped from a factory like the chain spots. They make the dough fresh, in-house with all natural ingredients, and you can tell the difference. Stop by and find out for yourself. This will be your new favorite dessert choice.

Three years ago I drove my this shop and stopped for some cookies just a quick craving. Never did I imagine it would become my FAVORITE place in the world to get cookies! The place is so welcoming and smells delicious, but the service? The friendly staff, the customer service? It’s incomparable to any place I have ever been to. It keeps me coming back, I get all my friends and family cookies from here, birthdays, cravings, it’s all from this place! I recommend this place 100% they are probably the most sincerely kind people you I will ever meet!

We arrived a few minutes before the store opened. Once they opened, we were greeted warmly and asked if this was our first time here. Because it was, we were each given a whole gormet cookie. As we were enjoying the tasty treat, our Uncle Biff's cookie guide told us about the drinks the restaurant provided including regular and chocolate milk. They also have coffee, water, soda and a very delicious fruity flavored iced tea. She showed us all the various cookie selections. They sell cookie dough in 1lb and 2 lb options. She discussed the special deals and pricing and how the groupon worked. She was friendly and informative even talking about the history of the owner and his cookie shop. There was some seating but looked like it was more for stopping in to pick up cookies and go. They have an online catering menu and ordering system for special occasions and needs. We bought a dozen cookies and got 14. The menu includes the ability to gift cookies. They are definitely worth visiting!! These are the best cookies ever! They make them fresh on site. When you get them they are nice and warm. I bought the peanut butter, the semi sweet chocolate chip with pecans and the California Killer Cookie which has white and dark chocolate chips and pecans. They have a different assortment.

An oatmeal chocolate chip cookie that is slap your mama good. Uncle Biff’s California Killer Cookies is the real deal. What a fun find. Seriously, the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie is a joy. The oatmeal screams homemade and the hints of vanilla and cinnamon compliment the chocolate in the best of ways. I also had the Biffer Doodle and they got this snickerdoodle super right. Edges are crispy and give way to a soft cookie that makes you smile. I live behind the Zion Curtain where by law, there is a cookie shop every 500 yards, and Uncle Biff could show these folks a thing or two.

I wandered into Biff’s Cookies for the first time Friday, and I was delightfully greeted by Elika with a huge smile AND was offered a FRESH baked warm and gooey, fresh-out-of-the-oven cookie!
I knew I was having a, “this is what dreams are made of” moment!
Elika introduced me to Biff, the owner of the facility, who was incredibly accommodating, informative and so friendly with comical cookie-banter and jokes! He walked me through all of their cookie knowledge and information, different flavor options and pressed me for my range of preferences.
I left the store in tremendous spirits and 5 cookies to try! Obviously I wanted to gobble them instantly, but I also knew thee were too good to not share. I took them home to my wife, and here’s our shakedown:

California Killer Cookie *Signature*
Taste: great taste, pecans are strong; great quality chocolate detected
Chewiness: soft inside, with crunchy exterior-perfect balance and baking
Ratio of mix-ins: excellent, perfect balance with perfect 3 flavor melding
Quality: cooked perfectly with gooey chewy middle
Rebuy: yes

Coconut white macadamia
Taste: coconut was excellent, added great texture; needs more macadamia nuts; explosion of macadamia and coconut flavors
Chewiness: very chewy with spot-on baking; exterior not too crispy, but middle nice and soft with gooey and chewiness
Ratio of mix-ins: need more macadamia nuts, or omit
Quality: excellent
Rebuy: not usually a macadamia lover but would re-eat

Regular semi-sweet chocolate chip
Taste: spot on, high quality chocolate is detectable
Chewiness: VERY CHEWY—chewier than others
Ratio of mix-ins: perfect ratio
Quality: great
Rebuy: definitely, now one of my favorites!

Golden Oatie chocolate chip
Taste: oats aren’t flavorful -cookie and
Chewiness: very dense and chewy
Ratio of mix-ins: would’ve preferred a regular oatmeal raisin
Quality: oats weren’t represented well in flavor
Rebuy: would not rebuy

Almond toffee
Taste: very similar to regular semi-sweet cookie; the toffee to be stronger
Chewiness: very good, baking is perfect: crisp exterior, chewy middle
Ratio of mix-ins: moderate, the toffee needs higher representation
Quality: lacking distinct taste, tastes too similarly to the regular chocolate chip
Rebuy: would not rebuy

We stopped because of their ratings. We were offered a fresh pb & j cookie…..I thought to myself ewwww…..but you know what, it was OMG Amazing!!! We ordered a dozen and picked out quite a variety, not cheap, but every single cookie was amazing!!! We froze them and they thaw perfectly!! Love that they are wonderfully fresh!! ❤. They even have an old school rewards system!! Fun!

Soft yummy cookies.

We got the white chocolate macadamia and chocolate cookies. They were good. We also got milk and chocolate milk. It was good and cold.

They have a couple different cookies like peanut butter, fudge, salted caramel, raisin and etc.

If you want killer cookies, this is the place!! 2 locations one in Phoenix and the other in San Diego. This is a fun place to take the kids or if you like quirky little date spots, this is one. I had the time to talk with the lady at the counter and she told us the story of how Uncle Biffs came about. He is a local guy who graduated from Brophy in '75 and went off to Pepperdine. 38 years ago they were opened in San Diego after tinkering with grandma's recipes. 3 years ago they opened here in Phoenix. I love the cookies and slammed 4 last night during munchie hour!! They are opened till 7:30 and if you wanna call in an order for the same day, they will take orders til 6:30. Cookies are made fresh daily in the store and really are wonderful. I ended up buying the rest of the cookies in the store, cuz that's how we roll....one or 3 is not enough😂. Thank you ladies for the AWESOME killer cookies and the stories. I will talk to you soon...

This little bakery is always clutch. Whenever I needed a couple dozen cookies for a hosting event or as a gift I know I can get them at Uncle Biff’s. The employees are always super nice and helpful. Cookies are always warm and fresh with that home made feeling. Big shout out to Uncle Biff’s!!!

I have been coming to Uncle Biff's since they opened 4 years ago. They treat every customer like family. You will leave Uncle Biff's feeling better than when you came. The workers are filled with so much joy and their kindness, along with their cookies, keep me coming back. Personally, I think the milk chocolate chunk cookie is the best cookies I've ever tasted!

Just tried Biff's Bits. AMAZING! They even shipped them to me here in Texas. There's a lot of nutrition included for a great trail mix, or just enjoy it as a snack. I took one package to church to share and it was a big hit! I think we may be getting more Uncle Biff's fans in the Lone Star State! Oh, and the cookies really are quite possibly the best in the world!

Love Love Love this place!!! Not only do they have amazing cookies but the service is phenomenal!!!! This place makes you feel like your in grandma’s kitchen it also smells and taste like it! Will forever be a repeat customer!

The customer service is amazing they are so nice and the even give you a free cookie when you come in. I got white chocolate chunk cookie and peanut butter cookie which were both so delicious.

Soo glad I found this place on Groupon! I bought the cookie experience for two for my daughter and myself. We each got to choose 4 to die for cookies, and each got a large glass of cold milk. Yum! Definitely will be back and telling everyone I know about this place. They have a location in California that's been there 30+ years, they've only been in Arizona about a year.
