Cactus Flower Café - Navarre

We recently found a great little place in Navarre, Florida - the Cactus Flower Cafe. We've eaten at their other location in Pace before and really liked it. This one in Navarre was a surprise find.

It's a small place like the one in Pace, but it has really tasty food. I had a green enchilada and my wife had a tostada. Both were really good. The best part was watching our one-year-old grandson happily eat his chicken quesadilla.

The only problem was that the food took a long time to come out, about 30 minutes, even though there weren't many people there. But, the food was good and the place was nice, so it was worth the wait.

In short, the Cactus Flower Cafe in Navarre, Florida is a great spot for yummy Mexican food. It's a small place, but the food is big on taste. It took a bit long for the food to come, but I'd still say it's worth a visit.

A little spot in a shopping strip with some FANTASTIC flavored Mexican food! The Pork street tacos were AHMAZING with great sides, a lot of tasty extras that made them hard to put down!! YUM!!! The Homemade Margarita with Wine was surprisingly DELICIOUS! CAN'T wait to return for more choices to try!! Must stop in or order to go!!

Delicious food and great service. This is not your typical Mexican place, the food is inventive and fresh. I had the shrimp tacos, and they were excellent. Husband had the chicken quesadilla, and it was huge and tasty. They only have beer and wine, but they have margaritas made with wine instead of tequila - I know, sounds weird, but I tried it and it was really good! Had two, in fact :) Service was prompt and friendly. Would definitely go again if back in Navarre.

We had both of the enchilada platters. They were decent. I asked if I could have a combo plate, and they said no. So my husband got one, and I got the other. I kept reading reviews that they had more options than the previous owners, and I was disappointed in what they offered. I probably won't go back. Very basic food. They offered one of everything, but don't let you customize at all, and there are other restaurants in the area that do. I still scored them high because it wasn't bad food, I've just personally had better.

We really enjoyed the chicken chimichanga, the cheese dip and sangria. Jake took great care of us!

Came here for lunch late afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! We ordered chips with salsa & queso, chimichanga, & tacos. The margaritas are made a bit different, they do not use tequila, they use wine. Overall enjoyed it!

Had a wonderful and flavorful dinner tonight. I don't remember out waitresses name, but she lived in Frederick, MD for 2 years before living here. She was awesome, went above and beyond and did extra running to make sure our first dinner in town was enjoyable. I got the Cali Steak Salad. It was delish!! My table also had loaded nachos, 2 Steak quesadillas and an order of tacos. All of it was wonderful.

Great tasting food with large portions. The quesadillas are pizza sized - seriously, they use two 10-inch tortillas to make them. My burrito was also big; it was long, but maybe not as stuffed as some I've had, but quite tasty. My wife enjoyed her Tostada but her favorite thing was the Queso Bites (appetizer) which she said she could eat everyday. We also had the guacamole which appeared to be fresh and handmade (chunky not blended) and was another big hit.d

They do serve beer and wine, but the margaritas are "wine based" whatever that means. We passed on the margaritas and opted for locally brewed bottled beer.

We ordered the gooey butter cake for dessert. Very, very big hit with the family.

Although this is absolutely not a vegan/vegetarian restaurant, many of the menu items can be made vegan or vegetarian. The only real complaint I had was that even though I was leaving off the meat and cheese, there was a $3 charge to add fajita veggies, which seemed excessive and really irritated me.

But let me end this on a positive note. We had the best server I've had in a very long time. She was patient with us while my special needs daughter made her lunch choice. When she found out I like spicy food, she brought out spicy salsa they make in the back upon request and added jalapeños to my burrito. She was super friendly and very attentive, making sure our drinks never ran dry.. I wish I could remember her name to give her the recognition here she deserves.

Overall, a 5-star rating and a place I would recommend.

it is not what I am used to as far as normal, Mexican fare, but the food is always delicious, the help is cheerful and accurate, and the tab is reasonable. I have only been twice once having chicken burritos and another time having the corn chowder. I love them both, and I am looking forward to trying everything on their menu :-)
Tamales are a specialty item and they only have them once in a while - hope I get to try them.

The shredded beef tostada was delicious and plentiful! Would have it again. My husband enjoyed their tacos.

Absolutely delicious!!! I had the chimichanga, my Aunt had the quesadilla...which was HUGE! If you leave here hungry, you did something wrong! Love that the queso dip was offered in mild, medium, and hot. We did mild cuz my Aunt doesn't eat a lot of spicy foods and found that we probably could have done a medium.

I’ve got to say, this place was delicious. Customer service was outstanding even on a to-go. My partner ordered three soft tacos, I ordered a chicken chimichanga. The chimichanga is to die for, very cheesy, crunchy outer shell. And each plate came with rice and beans, along with chips and salsa that were well salted. You won’t leave this place hungry!

STAFF ALWAYS TOP NOTCH...OWNER OUT FRONT ALL THE TIME...FOOD TASTE IS TOP NOTCH...CHEAP PRICES FOR WHAT YOU GET...AND THAT IS PLENTY! THIS IS OUR FAVORITE EATING SPOT IN NAVARRE! TOP 3 IN THE PAN HANDLE. ONLY COMPLAINT...CLOSED ON SUNDAY AND MONDAYS! WE EAT OUT 3 TIME A WEEK....THIS IS A MUST HIT FOR US. TRIED MOST OF THE MEXICAN,TEX-MEX ETC...NONE EVEN CLOSE!

We are from Utah, and every time we visit our daughter here in Navarre we have to go to the Cactus Flower. The Corn chowder is sooooo good, and so is the Pork Medallions.

Josh our server is fantastic, he thinks ahead, we always get great service here, but Josh is awesome!!

Super well run restaurant, with amazing tasting food. Everyone who works here is a true restaurant professional. The guacamole is fresh and delicious, the kids said that they liked it better than the queso. That was a first. I had a large stuffed burrito, filled with shredded pork, rice and beans. It was topped with a fabulous house made Ranchero sauce. Very, very good. We also tried the chimichanga, I did not try it myself, but from what I heard, it sounded delicious.

Our server was top notch. At the end of our meal, she asked for a critique. We all agreed that she was amazing! She then told us thank you, that this was her first week. To me, this means that they have a great training program. Which makes sense, after seeing everyone work together.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great tasting CaliMex and exceptional service.

Our go to place when we 1st hit Navarre! Been going for 10 years...never a bad meal! Generous with chips and salsa when u 1st sit down! They use FRESH guacamole not jar or can product ans lots of it! They started serving chicken pazoli soup...outstanding a cup will satisfy your desire for soup a bowl will more then make you very happy! I had the steak quasadia very spicy in spots...but definitely delicious! Rice and beans always top notch! Service is always top notch! In the last year I believe under new owner...Johny Houstons restaurant bought them out! New menu items have been added! This is my wife's favorite eatery in Navarre and always the 1st we go to the next day after driving 1,500 miles from Northern New Hampshire!

Love love love this place! I highly recommend the chimichanga dinner w/shredded chicken, add peppers & onions, with black beans, and get an extra side of queso for it. Get a large spicy queso, medium spicy, for the chips. Their queso is so unique and flavorful! It's not like what you get anywhere else around here. My food arrived hot with a nice plated presentation. The staff are friendly, the service was courteous, and everything was prompt.

I usually have low expectations for Mexican style restaurants because the food is not flavorful or just not good but this restaurant was really good! I ordered the burrito bowl and the flavors were so well mixed and balanced throughout the dish! The interior of the restaurant is well maintained and clean! Prefect for lunch or a nice dinner date! 10/10 recommended and would love to comeback next time we visit!

I've been in Navarre for 2 years now and finally went to Cactus flower Cafe for the first time. I ordered grilled shrimp chimichanga. It was the best chimichanga I've ever had - filled with cheese and the taste was just perfect and so delicious! I can't wait to go back and try to order different food next time.

Craving Mexican? Love this place. Walked in, seated immediately and had chips & salsa on table before I could even ask for a drink! Food came out piping hot in less than 5 minutes! Excellent service and extremely friendly staff!! Highly recommend....
