Captain's House Inn

We had a lovely stay at Captain's House Inn! We were coming to Chatham for the first time for a wedding and were so pleased that we stayed here as it was close to everything. Taylor and Stephanie went above and beyond to be so friendly and helpful throughout the weekend. The breakfast is delicious and coffee and treats are provided throughout the day. The grounds were beautiful and our room was spacious, clean, and charming. We loved using the bikes and beach chairs/towels for an easy trip to the beach. Can't recommend this place enough!

We stayed just one night at the inn, but we really enjoyed it. The grounds are beautiful, the room was large and well-appointed relative to its Cape Cod digs, and the staff was all very friendly. The breakfast the next day was also delicious and quick and it was nice to have a choice of selections as opposed to a buffet style.

We were able to walk to Chatham Bars for a drink, and into town for shopping and dinner--although this is not the most convenient route as there are not many sidewalks in Chatham. If you were to drive, it is probably only a mile or less from most other destinations in Chatham.

My only negative to report is that we had an issue with getting into our room at night around 9PM (our fault for temporarily losing our key), and we were not able to get ahold of anyone from the Inn to assist. We backtracked our steps and found the key, but had we not been able to this could have been a real problem.

We would certainly stay there again if visiting Chatham.

The Hideaway Suite was definitely "cozy" but still very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was tasty. Really nice property and a good location.

Couldn’t have pictured a better place to stay and celebrate our engagement. Taylor, Stephanie, and the entire staff were more than willing to go above and beyond throughout our entire stay. The location is perfect, the grounds are beautiful, and the food was delicious. Can’t wait to visit again soon.

Beautiful large garden setting for this charming accommodation. We received a warm welcome and excellent hospitality and service from Mike and his colleagues. Especially notable was the generous constant offering of food and drink, and the great breakfast. I would recommend this to anybody visiting the lovely town of Chatham.

I was in Chatham for a long weekend and stayed at the Captains House Inn. The property is beautiful and well maintained by Dan, also the Inn keepers Stephanie and Taylor are incredibly welcoming and they make you feel at home. I would highly recommend this Inn and would definitely stay in the future.

Very charming, clean and exceptionally attentive staff. The room was spacious and well appointed with 2 seating areas, wood stove and library area. Modern bath, closet, Tv, radio. Amazing breakfast, and afternoon tea. Beautiful gardens and many seating areas. Lovely breakfast room.

My husband and I just spent our babymoon here and we couldn’t be more happy. The room was very cozy with a gas fireplace in the corner and extremely comfortable bed, the breakfast was delicious every morning, and the staff was top notch! Everyone was so accommodating, we felt so pampered.

The location also can’t be beat. Just down the road from the center of town, restaurants and shops are just a couple of minutes away. Everything was so convenient!

We’re already sad to be back home. Thank you to Stephanie and team for being so wonderful. We can’t wait to come back one day!

Had the complete afternoon tea. Oh my goodness!!!! THIS IS SO 5 star plus delicious. The mini sandwich samplers and the scones and cakes are superb and comparable to finest you would find anywhere. Have booked to take my mom here for Mother's Day , and will be a repeat customer

We loved this place! Our room was called ‘wild pigeon’. We loved everything about the room. The bed was so comfy. Bathroom was amazing. The love seat was just nice. Breakfast was delicious. I was really impressed with the high tea. The chef made it with heart. Very relaxing and quiet place to spend quality time with your loved one’s. My wife and I fell in love with this place. We’re planning to visit again next time and of course the same room. Would highly recommend anyone to visit Chatham and please stay at Captain’s House Inn. It’s one of a kind. Make this place into a special memory with your special someone.

We have stayed at the Captain’s House Inn many times over the years. It’s a wonderful bed and breakfast with lovely rooms and beautiful gardens. We were especially pleased with our recent visit. The new manager, Stephanie, was welcoming and helpful. She even baked the evening cookies set out for guests in the evening! Wait staff and maids were friendly and professional as usual. Thanks for a great visit, Stephanie! We look foreword to returning to the Captain’s House soon.

My husband and I got married here on 12/18/2011. The inn arranged everything for a small romantic ceremony in their library. They took pictures, provided flowers and a cake. Of course we stayed in one of their beautiful rooms. The service was incredible and when we were surprised with a nice coating of snow that night they were quick to let us capture some pictures. I can’t believe it is coming up on 10 years in December. Captain’s House Inn has delicious breakfasts and an amazing high tea in the afternoons. I highly recommend it and hope to come back for our anniversary.🥂💕

Paige, Michelle and the entire staff were simply fantastic. They were helpful, friendly and went above and beyond our expectations. Our room was beautiful and clean. The breakfasts were amazing and changed daily. My wife and I got married at the Inn as part of the elopement package they offered and I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful ceremony and beautiful location. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy this quaint Inn for our anniversaries. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful memory for me, my wife and my family. I highly recommend!

This is our fourth visit to this wonderful Inn. Our two best friends who were celebrating their 50th anniversary accompanied us for their first time to Cape Cod. This visit was made even better because of the personalities and professionalism of the current Inn management team, Stephanie and Heidi. Their knowledge of the Cape, their helpfulness, and their charming attitudes makes you feel at home instantly.
They answered all questions and provided extra services we asked for. From a welcoming tray of cheeses and Champagne for the anniversary couple, a four-star breakfast cooked daily by a professional chef, to a request by our wives for “high Tea” in the Inn fantastic Sunroom.
The rooms we reserved were perfect in appearance and cleanliness. The Inn itself was freshly painted and the outside grounds were inviting.
The location of the Inn allows you to walk to all attractions in town or the beaches. Driving to other cities on the Cape are easy and short and Stephanie provided needed directions.
Take my word for it, you do not Drive or fly from Tampa Florida numerous times, unless the experiences were / are excellent.

Lovely and cozy. Staff is warm, welcoming and helpful with local restaurants (type, attire, directions, etc.). The room is clean and set up beautifully. Breakfast is great and daily tea time with pastries is delightful. It's off-season so it's fairly quiet, and the grounds are lovely. I would definitely recommend and would certainly return.

Awesome place, a true home away from home! We stayed in the Carriage house and enjoyed every second! The breakfast is delicious and the chef can also cook to order stuff that he has ingredients for even if those dishes are not on the menu. The room was incredibly comfortable and warm, and I really appreciated all the details and complimentary things! One piece of advice I have for the owners is to try to fix the doors that don't close well and to insulate the house further to prevent huge losses of heat in the winter; it will lower their energy costs and be better for the environment. All in all, I think the staff did a great job and we will certainly return!

Absolutely lovely. Stayed in the Lydia Harding suite and the place was huge! - living room, office, large bedroom & two gas fireplaces made this feel like a home away from home.
The staff was incredibly helpful and very friendly.

I really felt everyone went above and beyond to make sure we felt safe with the Covid precautions - without sacrificing any of the personalized luxuries of staying at a BnB.

Breakfast was excellent and I loved the option to dine on our own private balcony !!

Lovely B and B. We stayed in the Eliza Jane suite. The room was very nice,and clean,with all the amenities, snacks and soft drinks were waiting for us in our room. The whirlpool tub was wonderful!The breakfast was delicious,and the staff was very friendly,and they were very careful with Covid 19 protocol.We would stay here again.

We have stayed here once before about 8 years ago and loved it. We have returned for or tenth anniversary because we love the atmosphere, area, staff, food and service. The food each morning is always wonderfully prepared and the staff is immensely courteous and helpful. The rooms are clean and beautiful and each morning you can get coffee and tea brought to your room along with breakfast if you wish. The grounds are also very charming and extremely well kept with trees, flowers, gazebos, and lots of outdoor seating to read and enjoy the weather. The doing and restaurants of Chatham are within walking distance and the town is very charming as well. If you're looking for a quite inn to stay at, with great food and service, I highly recommend you look at this one.

We stayed 3 nights in the Tradewinds room and it was literally perfect. The soaking tub was amazing. We can’t wait to come back! The staff were all SO nice and so professional. We went during the off season and it was quiet and peaceful. The perfect weekend away. The breakfast is phenomenal!
