Our whole trip to the Cape was planned based off of a portrait of this lighthouse we had randomly bought and hung on our wall. The trek in the dunes, in the beaming sun, wasn't overly pleasant. But if you're prepared for a hike it's a great spot on the tip!

Beautiful lighthouse in the dunes. You can take a hike through the dunes or walk over the beach to see it. About 4 miles round trip from the beach parking lot.

Hiked the beach from the ranger station parking lot and returned via the dune road. All beach sand, so you'll get a nice workout.

Often no one in sight, just the beach, wildlife and dunes. One of the best places for a contemplative walk.

Totally worth the visit! Getting there might be hard but a 3 mile walk is really good!

The lighthouse is the one that is on Cape Cod Chips packing.

Very pretty! Nice hike out there along the beach. We went on Columbus day weekend 2017. We got to see a group of seals chilling on the beach, bon fires, wild birds migrating from the artic and a nice gentleman to tell us about the birds. We decided to take the beach route on the way back also rather than the sand road. Took about an hour to get there (stopping to take pics of the seals) and 45 min to get back after dark. (Take flashlights). The sunset was amazing and well worth the wait!!!! Def recommend visiting.

Visit at the beginning or end of the season for elbow room, or during the peak of summer to be with a few thousand friends. Some folks walk to the lighthouse, but many drive over the pole line road. Permit required!

Park your car at Hatches Harbor Walk, then take a 30 minute walk to a beautiful view of the sunset. In November you will see the sun go down right behind Race Point Lighthouse.

Worth seeing when you are on Cape Cod. You will have to hike over to see this one or view it from Herring Bay Beach. My goal was to check off every lighthouse on the Cape that I had not been able to visit. Great time locating all the lighthouses, learning about their history and then trekking out to see them.

A cute little lighthouse with beautiful surroundings. We hiked here via the Hatches Harbor Trail. The connecting beach is good to check out too.

Very remote and beautiful location. Very few people visit this awesome place. If you're going to walk there, make sure to go in the evening when it is less hot and sunny. You can get there either through the dunes or through the beach, it takes about 3 hours (6 hours round-trip), make sure bring water and snacks. The quality of the beach varies, some places are good for swimming while others are rocky. Unfortunately you can't bring any pets with you.

Shot an indie film here, back in Spring of 2001. At that time, the Lighthouse Keeper still lived there and he was just a throwback, kind, and full of stories.

The beach is breathtaking, if i recall there were whales just off the shoreline as the beach drops off to deep ocean pretty quickly. Worth a visit.

The lighthouse was great but the walk to it can be rather long. You find yourself parking at the ranger/beach before hiking in. If you aren't in at least decent shape it make be tough but it is worth it. The entire walk is all sand. The main house and whistle house are rentable areas so check that out. Parking was $20 when we visited. Make sure to check their schedule as they do let you in the light house for viewing and to provide history on the lighthouse.

We went there off-season and it was a rather long walk (1h give or take) following the beach to get there and then another 40 minutes back through the dunes. By the end, our shoes were filled with sand and we were pretty exhausted, however, it was totally worth it! I‘d also recommend to visit the light house close to sunset as the lighting gets more more beautiful at that time. We‘d advise everyone in the area to go have a look at this beautiful landmark!

Awesome lighthouse, only accessible by off-road vehicle (or a VERY long beach walk).

A great place to hike to and to visit. We received a lovely tour of the lighthouse which was very interesting. There’s not really a price to enter but they do appreciate small donations.

Honestly, so breath taking from the top of the light house. The light keeper was very knowledgeable and kind. You can rent out the living cabins that face the beach. A true step back in time.

Spent the day on the beach with family and friends. Ate good food and enjoyed the sun and the waves. The breeze never let up. Fun!

Nice place to visit. Try entering the lighthouse and going all the way up; You'll have the very best panoramic view of the park.

The ORV trails at Race Point Beach take you within feet of this classic lighthouse. You can see it when you first get on the ORV trail from the parking lot, and it gets closer and closer as you drive out. Makes for some great sunset pics from the beach. Never actually been inside it, we just admire each day as we drive by.
