A great, old- fashion book shop.
They sell used books.
Place is really old. The floors creak as you walk through the place. It is made up of a bunch of rooms with the books stacked from the floor to the ceiling.
Their books cover a wide variety of subjects so there is something for everyone.
If you love books, you will love this place.

What an absolute gem of an experience. Obviously we took the Edward Gorey House tour first and a stop at Parnassus Books was a must afterwards. Not only do they have what seems like miles of low-cost remainders outside for purchase but the interiors are a bibliophiles dream. We went on a sleepy Sunday which was a perfect time for meandering the stacks for hours. Honestly could have spent all day there.

So much to see and browse here. Sue was very helpful and knowledgeable as to what was available and where to locate it. Many many old and rare books and collections. If they don't have it, they will find it for you. Definitely worth a stop if you live on or headed to the Cape.

Great bookstore not many "mom & pop" type stores anymore. Many vintage & downright antique books along side current best sellers.
I love to visit & I always find a treasure for my collection.

The staff knew exactly where to locate the subjects that interested us. We picked up a few hardcovers including a Tom Clancy in excellent condition.

My new favorite spot. Can't wait to go back.

One of my all-time favorite bookstores. A beautiful antiquarian space crammed floor to ceiling with a world of books. Wonderful staff and reasonable prices. Love the outdoor books too. Just push money through the slot in the front door if they aren't open.

Please please go here! Parnassus Book Services is my favorite book shop on Planet Earth. It's a tradition for my dad and I to spend several hours here and and we have been making the journey up 6A for many many years. It's just so warm, so inviting, the allure of books old and new (or new to us) is so exciting. Floor to ceiling books! There's so much to say about my favorite place, but I'm just so grateful Parnassus is still open. We need more places like this in the world. Thanks for all my treasures over the years!!

It's so much fun to browse in a used bookstore. seeing those old friends in books you've read before, maybe those you read as a child. interesting finds. The clerk was very friendly and very helpful. If you like a used bookstore this is great! A+

Unexpected gem of a book store. Would recommend getting a ladder for books on 6th shelf and higher. Found really unusual books and the experience is well, worth the trip!

This is one of the treasures of New England bookselling, now on its second and third generation of ownership. I always find something of extraordinary value & interest. Sara has done a great job of cleaning up, sorting, and making more accessible.

I was driving by with my boyfriend who I was showing around as I grew up on the cape . I always saw this store and never checked it out! That was a mistake! I came in and fell in love with the place . Truly a place you could get lost in. I didn’t have a lot of time but I did have enough to pick up some books and have a nice conversation with the woman who happened to live on Oahu in the years past (that’s where I moved to). Lovely experience all around.

My family has been frequenting this bookstore for generations. It's truly the place to go if you want to find yourself in the stacks. Here you can find so many local publications, a bountiful collection of Edward Gorey's works, first editions, and very cool antique books.

It's a great place to spend a rainy afternoon on the Cape. If you are a book-lover, you have to give Parnassus a visit. Walking through this store is pure magic.

If you have a thing for old books. I mean a thing for old books. Like just like being near them. Maybe only one off the shelf and opening it up and glancing at the pages. You know that kind of thing. This is the place for you.

If you love books, you really must visit this charming store. I bought a volume of Poe's work published in the 1800s at a very reasonable price. They have something for everyone. New and old books, with a fabulous old building, make this shop a real treat.

Peaceful and quiet and every time I am in the book store I find 5 books all the time.

Great bookshop to browse in, all kinds of subjects, pearls just waiting to be discovered. There are whole sections on whaling as well as many maritime books.
