My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Lamb and Lion Inn. Lauren, the owner, was a terrific resource for local hiking trails and great restaurants including the Buttercup Cafe in Barnstable Village which was just a mile walk. The Inn was quaint and meticulous--we will definitely stay there again.

First time at Cape Cod.
Very welcoming; relaxing; quiet. It felt like we were at home. Room was very cozy. Bathroom amenities were great. Smell very clean. Hot showers very relaxing. Pool was refreshing and hot tub very relaxing. Enjoy the smell of the fire pit at night.
Recommending to friends and family We will be back!

We had to book a midweek two night stay with two teenagers and a dog - so so happy that we found the Lamb and Lion. The inn is charming and quiet, a perfect Cape vibe. We stayed in the Lamb’s Retreat and it worked perfectly for our two teenage boys who need their own space and sleep spaces after a family day. We were able to walk - with our dog - to the beach and through the extensive trails across the street. Lauren is the perfect host and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. My only regret in writing this outstanding review is now everyone will know about it and it will get hard to book. :)

We've been staying at the Lamb and Lion Inn for multiple years now and can't imagine staying anywhere else on the Cape. It's become tradition at this point. We love the location (mid-Cape), the overwhelming kindness and hospitality of the staff, and the unique New England charm of all the rooms. Our dog Isaac absolutely loves his stays here (the yard is so large and he loves running around). If bringing your pup along with you to be a part of your memories, then look no further than the Lamb and Lion Inn. It's so important to us to have him along with us on these trips, and I can't thank the Lamb & Lion Inn enough for giving us the ability to do so!

We had a wonderful stay at the Lamb & Lion! A place that is as charming, clean, cozy, quiet, relaxing, and welcoming as one could wish for. This was our third trip to the Cape and by far the best, not least due to being so happy with our lodging. Our room was really nicely decorated and felt very much like a home. We lacked for nothing and particularly enjoyed being able to borrow the inn's beach chairs, towels, and umbrella for the duration of our stay. The location was perfect for our trip as we wanted to explore multiple areas of Cape Cod. We also loved the local guidebook that we found in our room - very thorough, well thought out, and useful - it saved us a ton of time and research because we absolutely every place that was recommended in there (be it a restaurant, beach, or historic landmark). The host, Lauren, was very kind and helpful throughout our stay!

We got married at the Lamb and Lion Inn on Jan 1, 2016. It was a beautiful day and we were able to have the ceremony out on the deck. We come back every year (with our pups) for our anniversary. We love the area, and the Inn is just beautiful. I can't even describe how wonderful the Innkeepers Pride room is. It is spacious, and there is a jacuzzi tub, small kitchen, and a wood burning fireplace. The owner is wonderful to work at, and we always feel special when we stay here!

Fantastic place to stay! We LOVED staying in the 1740 Barn - just the perfect amount of space for us! Location was AWESOME for dinner in Sandwich, exploring the Cape Cod National Seashore, a whale watch on the Dolphin Fleet in Provincetown, and everything in between. Lauren was SO helpful when we had a problem receiving an overnight package - thank you so much, Lauren! I HIGHLY recommend the Lamb & Lion Inn for your travels on the Cape.

I loved staying at the lamb and lion. The staff was so pleasant. If we need any extras. They were right there to refill are stuff.
(coffee, towls, toilet paper, ect). Places to go was 10 mins away, if that. The pool was clean and warm. I would definitely stay here again!

I had the privilege of living on Cape Cod for 20 years. So, now when I go back to visit, I need the perfect quintessential Cape Cod experience and the Lamb and Lion is just that. Tom and Ali are the perfect hosts. The rooms are very comfortable, linens are exceptional. The bathtub is a dream. Our room had a kitchenette that allowed me to buy fish locally and cook on the grill. Our private deck was ideal as we travel with our dog. The backyard was reminiscent of my old home with rabbits visiting daily. It is a delightfully quiet spot with great hiking spots nearby. The beach and village shops are also just a short walk. Thank You Tom and Ali for another great stay. We are seasoned travelers, all over the world, but you two are at the top of the list for great hospitality! I cannot thank you enough.

We loved the Lamb and Lion!! Thank you, Lauren, for being so kind and accommodating (and pet-friendly!). We stayed in the Inn Keeper's suite which was neat and clean. It even felt like we had rented an entire condo for all the room we had. We also enjoyed hearing the train whistle as the Cape Cod Railroad service chugged by (at appropriate hours of the day, by the way!).
As a runner, I absolutely was thrilled with the two sets of trails that were right outside my door (Aunt Hatchie Lane which connects to miles of other trails ... and the Mass Audobon's Great Marsh site).
On our last night we rode a few minutes into Barnstable Village and ate on the wharf at Mattakeese's ...what a sunset!
We only spent two nights with Lauren, but had we known how great she's made the L&L we would've planned better and spent a few more.

I cannot say enough about this place! It was my first time staying at an Inn. Didn't really know what to expect. The place is so cute and rich with historical charm. Despite being older I have never stayed in such a clean place. Nicki takes care of the rooms and her friendliness is unmatched as well as her eye for details. We had an awesome chat on our way out today. The owner was also sweet and so accommodating. I cannot recommend this place enough for many reasons such as amenities, location, friendliness, etc. I will be coming back soon. Thank you again very much!

I loved this spot! Very comfortable, clean, friendly place. I loved the setup, and the fact I could bring out little dog.
I totally enjoyed the hot tub and will return when I’m in the area again.

My partner and I spent a night here as a getaway for my 30th birthday, and we were able to bring our dog! We loved it. The room was comfortable and quiet, and we really felt like our dog was welcome- there were sheets and towels set out specifically for dog use. We'd love to go back in a warmer season when the pool and hot tub would be open, but it is a beautiful place to spend some time :)

This is such a great place for your Cape Cod getaway. First off, the inn is wonderful. Our room was perfect and the kitchenette was great for our 6 night stay. Then there is the pool and outdoor fireplace. After exploring Cape Cod during the day and taking in the sights, we took full advantage of the heated pool in the evenings along with relaxing by the fire. It was great! Always the perfect way to end our day
But what makes this place really stand out is the hosts, Ali and Tommy. From the day we arrived they were doing everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. They helped us with tickets for whale watching, the ferry to Nantucket, and with dinner reservations at a great local restaurant. We literally had to just mention what we were interested in doing and they were ready to help us make it happen. Plus, they both know the area so well. The recommendations they gave us for different sights to see and places to eat helped make our visit remarkable. We ate at the best little restaurants and bakeries, and we never would have found them using an internet search or social media recommendations. Ali and Tommy always knew exactly where to direct us whether it was for food, free parking at tourist spots, or little known beaches and scenic locations. And definitely ask them about their self-driving tours!
We highly recommend the Lamb and Lion Inn, and hope to go back to stay with them again soon!

We had a fantastic experience at the Lamb and Lion Inn! It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway. This is a very unique kind of place. The location is perfect, very close to several beaches, restaurants, and other sites. The staff (Eileen, Allison, and Tom) were extraordinarily helpful with directions, things to do, resources at their inn, etc. In general, they were also just pleasant and fun people to be around. The room we had was very comfortable, and spacious, complete with a small kitchenette and refrigerator. The central salt-water pool was wonderfully relaxing and private; the perfect getaway if you want to relax but not deal with beaches and sand. They also have an outdoor fireplace for when it gets chilly. Each morning, the staff provide for a delicious breakfast. I particularly enjoyed the homemade yogurt and granola!

Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality! We hope to be back soon!

The Lamb and Lion Inn, run effectively by Tommy and his crew, is a great place for your vacation at the Cape. We stayed in the larger, independent unit (with kitchen). The unit is amply decorated. It is a bit of crawling at times, but that just adds to the fun and will help make you feel away from home. I'd also like to highlight the trailhead across the street that provides access to the Old Jail Lane Conservation. You can find about 10-12 miles there for a walk, walk-the-dog, hike and/or run. It is also a nice road to the Barnstable town for a good cuppa at Nirvana or groceries at the market. We had a splendid stay and we appreciate their mellow attitude towards guests with dogs (they LOVE'm)

Great location across from walking trails and very close to a few nice places to eat. Pet friendly was huge for us so we could bring the dog. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The beds were extremely comfortable, more comfortable than our own beds at home. Homemade breakfast in the morning was delicious. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it as a great place to stay on the Cape.

Eileen was the nicest women I have met while staying somewhere! We were only there for a very short, last minute, trip with 5 of us and it was everything we needed! The Barn where we stayed was very charming clean. The loft style was definitely unique and in my opinion is great for family trips just as much as it was great for our small friends trip! I'm a big fan of old style/colonial houses and this place has kept a lot of it's original charm.

The birds that surround this place are amazing, you'll wake up to the sound of so many different songs. If you're interested in bird watching or just like to hear them then this place will be a dream to you lol everything surrounding the property is green and very peaceful. When you walk on to the private porch of the barn it feels like you have your own private sanctuary, you immediately will smell the flowers and there's sooo many trees and plants it's absolutely beautiful. If you didn't know already, this place will help show you why New England/The Cape is the most beautiful and peaceful place to live!

Again, thank you Eileen for your helpful tips on where to eat and go and thank you for your wonderful service. Our stay was too short to be able to try out the different amenities they offer like yoga, pool, hot tub, book room, etc, but I definitely look forward to trying them out on my next stay!

Lastly, if you're someone who genuinely wants a place to stay where you can truly relax with good company but also be close to beaches and off-site activities, then this is definitely the place for you!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Lamb and Lion Inn. We were attracted to the Inn by reviews stating it was the most pet friendly Inn anywhere. It did not disappoint. The location was perfect on Rt 6A near many local stores and restaurants. Tom greeted us and was a great host. He made us feel at home, the Inn was very warm and comfortable. The room was nice and quiet with plenty of room for us and our 2 dogs. We had a wonderful stay and recommend the Lamb and Lion Inn to anyone with or without your pets. We're already looking forward to our next stay.

Thank you, Ali and Tommy! We had (yet another) wonderful time at your beautiful Inn!! The rooms were super DUPER clean, and we really appreciated your being so welcoming to our furry little guy. You not only allowed him everywhere with us, you even included a "dog towel" for his sandy little paws 8 ) ! He (almost) had a better time than we did! We loved visiting the dog friendly beaches and dog friendly restaurants (as per your recommendation). We even went to a ghost tour with our little guy--we give you FIVE PLUS stars for a wonderful family getaway and our dog, "Jack" gives you a two paws way up! We HIGHLY recommend the Lamb and Lion Inn to anyone looking for a family friendly place to relax, have fun, and include the furry family members. Can't wait to go back! Hope to see you soon!
