Newman and the staff here always do a fantastic job with imagining up unique and approachable dishes for their private dining experiences. We recently visited for a friend’s 40th birthday and had about 1/3 of the guests who had been before and 2/3 who this was their first time. There was not a single person who didn’t love the food they were provided and multiple accommodations were made for the group’s dietary needs. Amazing experience time and again!

My wife and I stopped in at one of the HSH Saturday happy hour fast casual events and it was PHENOMENAL!!!! The food, the atmosphere, the people…everything was top notch! Tell me a dining experience where the chef and his staff come out and make sure you’re well taken care?!?!? This is one of those experiences. Do yourself a favor and check them out! You absolutely won’t be disappointed!!!

What an exceptional night. Perfect fall evening in the garden with a special cocktail and appetizer of hush puppies and meatball. A Foody's paradise in Nelson County. Head Chef Newman Miller is an absolute wizard in the kitchen, conjuring elegant and divine dishes with spices and flavor profiles to tantalize the tongue, and Chef Stephen Goodin is an alchemist with breads, perfecting each dough to an art piece before serving. The cocktails are a story in and of themselves (their old-fashioned is one of the best around). Each "Pop-up" event is worth investigating, and never disappoints. Guest chefs even arrive at times to concoct dishes never seen on a conventional menu. Staff is also attentive and friendly, always happy to swap stories and knowledge. Worth the Facebook follow for any visitor/resident of the Bardstown area, you never want to miss out on the magic!

Am writing this as I recover from what was one of the most decadent, delicious and personalized dining experiences I’ve had in years. Newman Smith, Spencer and Harrison made my husband’s birthday celebration one he and our friends will always remember. Some tips for making this an amazing experience: (1) give Newman the reins and let him plan the meal. We had complete confidence, knowing we’d given him a few lesser-desired ingredients and boy did he not disappoint. (2) Whatever you do, hope (pray) he’ll prep an old fashioned. It was one of the best cocktails of the entire trip. (3) Don’t eat all day. Trust me, there’s more food than you can possibly consume - and Every. Single. Thing. was amazing. I’d hope for a special occasion - it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had.

I had an amazing dinner here. I was passing through town on a road trip, and we decided to check the town out. Cute town, great whiskey bars. Harrison-Smith House was prominently featured in a guide to the local Bourbon Festival, so we decided to try it.

I'm not sure what to say--everything was amazing. I started with a cocktail. I am a fanatical Old Fashioned drinker, and this place makes the cocktail RIGHT. No squished up orange slice or bright red cherry--Just Bourbon, bitters, sugar and citrus peel.

Then I had a green salad which had crunchy bits of chicken skin in it. Excellent texture and taste. My main course was a bourbon marinated pork dish, with a cornbread and kale dressing. Phenomenal. We also had a side of cornbread--I posted a picture--which was also really excellent.

I didn't have room for dessert, but I sampled one of their whiskey selections (they have a lot of options!) which I felt was the perfect finish to the meal.

I eat a lot of good food here in NYC, but this was the best meal I have had in a long time. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping in.

We had a Holiday luncheon at the HSH for our High School 50th reunion. We could not have been more pleased or pampered. Chef Newman greeted us and we were made to feel like we were right at home. Meal was outstanding! Planning this event was quite simple with Harrison. Can’t recommend this highly enough.

Two visits in two years and they are both in my Top 10 if not Top 5 best meals I have ever had. I travelled everywhere around this great country and the world and HSH just constantly buzzes my great dining memories. Along with the food, the experience is something beyond special. Thank you HSH team for an incredible experience!

I had the pleasure to dine at Harrison-Smith house last week. The food was incredible. Service was outstanding. We'll be making special trips to Bardstown just to eat here. Well done team!

Simply one of the best meals I've ever had. Great place to end up after a day of hitting the Bourbon Trail.
