The Crown Railroad Café

Love historic places! The Crown is attached to a motel and you could drive right by it. But what a wonderful find. Mike wanted eggs Benny and this is the place to come in Flagstaff. Charming dining-room with a model train that goes all the way around. Mike loved his eggs Benedict. And. “Those” potatoes were delicious. Teah was super friendly, and gave great service.

There's very few restaurants open in the town of Flagstaff, near where we were staying, past 8pm. We picked The Crown Railroad Cafe because it was open till 9.

We were skeptical at first, being a Saturday night and walking into the almost empty restaurant, but the good reviews gave us hope.

Turns out the reviews are spot on! The lunch counter gives it a nostalgic, old time diner feel, with a vintage electric train running around the top perimeter of the restaurant.

I ordered the southern bbq sandwich which was delicious! Awesome fries, too.

One of my friends had the cheese burger, the other ordered the french dip. Everyone was beyond happy with their choices.

The waitress was happy to see us, even though we arrived near closing time.

Trust the reviews! The place doesn't look like much upon first glance, but its a winner!

Cool place to eat before adventuring out for the day. We stayed in Flagstaff and ate here before heading to the GC. Great atmosphere and staff. The kids loved watching the real trains go by every few minutes and the train set running around the restaurant ceiling.

This was a wonderful experience. Our waitress was awesome. All of the food was very good.

If you're some picky mainstreamer this is probably not for you. But if you're looking for classic Americana this is the place for you. I would eat here every morning if I lived here.

This is a must stop, service is above 5 starts and the food is outstanding. We only come in town a few times a year, and I am always happy to support the local community and small businesses. If there is a wait, just know it's worth the wait.

I stopped in here this morning to nab myself a breakfast: eggs and bacon. And this spot did not disappoint. It’s a quintessential Route 66 diner, with a railroad theme. It’s got a train track running around the interior with a moving train cruising the tracks. It’s also the meeting place for many local people from Flagstaff hour from a very friendly and are open to conversation.

If you’re in town, give this place a shot. It’ll satisfy your hunger and give you a place to feel warm at heart.

We checked out The Crown Railroad Cafe' in flagstaff Az. The Business is old fashioned, But,the food is hardy and delicious,that I like 😉👍, Now days you get sm.amout for big Price. This place has cute toy train goes round the restuarant,above your head. The waitress Mindi is nice,sociable. I'm definitely returning. I reconed y'all come check this place out.

Be aware of the biscuits and gravy! There huge!!!!!! This place is great! The breakfast potatoes are good pancakes yup, and The 2 servers Anita and Alyssa were a great duo. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen service like that thank you.

Stopped here in my travels and it's like stepping in a time capsule. Quaint diner with a train running overhead throughout the restuarant. Each booth had a plaque from what I gathered to be different train companies. Food was plenty and delicious! The staff were so friendly and helpful to this traveler.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Fantastic friendly staff from greating at the door to hostess seating. Casual local feel as if your eating at a friend's house. Wide variety of menu, heafty portions for cheap prices especially considering its SOOO FRESH! Even the ranch dressing is made in house & the fruit was delicious and clean as was the salad. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as a former culinary student, this place has it going on! Totally set up for children, including little train rides as well as the choo choo circling above. Great steak, shrimp and that fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy is to die for! Thanks, you guys are authentically wonderful!

Where can you go and have 66 different varieties of omelettes, freshly baked biscuits with good creamy gravy and more? Toy train running around tracks. Route 66 memorabilia. The cafe is a throwback to the ‘60s and sits on Route 66. Good service, good prices and good food. Best place for breakfast in Flagstaff, in my opinion.

If you’re running through town, like us, you stop at this restaurant, not just for the food. You come for the atmosphere, the warmth, and the memories for the kids!

A very charming restaurant to eat at in Flagstaff that has good home cooked style food. I ordered the Chef salad. My spouse ordered the hot turkey plate while my daughter had the meat ravioli. Coffee was hot. Clean restrooms. Fast and friendly service. Good size portions. My daughter loves the ravioli here.

We had a great dinner at this local cafe! They have a huge menu where our picky kids could find something and everything we had was great from the huge pancakes, to the chicken fried steak, the sauerkraut dog, and the cubano sandwich.

My friends and I came here to play D&D and were treated quite well by the waiter, despite having a large party in the middle of a dinner rush. We were able to stay til a half hour before they closed. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars for atmosphere was because the bathroom stalls are a little on the small side for a larger sized person.

Excellent food and service! Enjoyed the train alot, inside the restaurant. Great atmosphere. Motel is now a homeless shelter! Wonderful!!

A must see collection of railroads plus and operating one for the amusement of visitors. The service was neat, attentive, courteous. The meal was great. Really enjoyed the experience here. It’s railroad themed restaurant on Route 66 that is across from the real railroad that compliments the sightseeing with comfort food meal.

You will not leave this place hungry! Went there just because one of the gkids is really into trains. The food was delicious & plenty to eat. Ate breakfast & dinner there. All 4 of us ordered something different both times. Everyone said their food was very good.

Service was extremely fast and attentive (refills were provided before the current glass was half done).
Food is delicious, and portions are generous.
Atmosphere is quaint, and there is a model train running along a ceiling track... super fun for train fans.
