Best Western Pony Soldier Inn & Suites

This hotel is wonderful. The family suite is amazing! I wish every hotel had one. Everything was clean and well stocked. The breakfast was as expected for a Best Western. There are also some great little cafes nearby. The staff were friendly and they provide ice scrapers for anyone not prepared for the weather.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel, which I booked mainly because it was a good value. It’s an older hotel on old Route 66, but it’s been completely remodeled. Everything worked and the rooms were nice and spacious. The breakfast was surprisingly good. I particularly like the fact that they have a pancake machine rather than the waffle machines, which always have a queue of 5 to 15 year-old kids lined up behind them, so you can never use them. I was greeted very courteously and made to feel like they actually wanted me to stay there. The only drawback is that being on route 66 the trains went by all night long. That something that hotel can’t help it’s just part of where it’s located. In general, though we enjoyed our stay here more than we enjoyed the Hampton at another location the night before.

The staff are friendly.Breakfast is really good.The location is awesome,there’s grocery store &restaurants nearby and just an hour drive from Grand Canyon.
Please update your bathroom fixture.Shower knobs are very loose,we are scared to used it.Shower grouts are molding.

Clean rooms, nice amenities, beautiful big breakfast area. We've been on the road about a week and a half. This is one of the nicest breakfasts that we've had. It is an older hotel but remodeled. If you're a light sleeper the noise of nearby train might bother you. But maybe the fireplace and the breakfast the next morning will make up for it😉

It was fine. The front desk was kind. The location is east Flagstaff so you're close to the Museum which is a really neat bar. I would stay again.

It was the most wonderful hotel. Very close to downtown. People at the front desk were so helpful and kind. The amenities were awesome. Would definitely stay there again.

Bekki is the BEST!!

We were on a car camping road trip and our car broke down!! A day that was truly horrible Bekki turned around for us! She signed us up for rewards and got us a free room upgrade! We had the time of our lives. The minute we got a sip of the coffee in the lobby our worries faded as we were able to go enjoy the hot tub, walk to a GREAT taco place for dinner, and had a nice hot breakfast the next morning.

Bekki took such good care of us, and we will be returning every time we are in flagstaff.

One of my favorite best westerns. The pool and Jacuzzi are always a treat as well as the fake horse upfront.

Quiet, off the main road of Route 66. Didn't have time to explore because we were only staying the night, but it was nice accommodations for the night. Warm in the buildings, solid breakfast choices, and super pet friendly!

Super clean rooms, friendly staff. I live an hour outside of Flagstaff and needed to be in town for medical reasons, the location was perfect.

We were traveling from Southern California to New Mexico and decided to stop in Flagstaff. We were a family of 6 and booked The Family Suite. We were pleasantly surprised on how spacious the room was. There was a separate bedroom from the main room. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable beds, and included all the amenities needed. The continental breakfast was a bonus.

Great clean rooms, comfortable beds. I travel with my own pillow but there are many to choose from which is awesome. Lighting and electronic are updated. I can have my phone plugged in by the bed. Breakfast has something for everyone. I recommend and will stay again.

The hotel was clean and tidy the staff was friendly and helpful the location was awesome. This location is away from the busy downtown Flag. The nearby restaurants were all wonderful.
A nice warm cool and hot tub or a way to wind down at the end of the evening.
The morning of our departure we had a nice full warm breakfast that the hotel served. Omelets, biscuits & gravy, pancakes, oatmeal, fresh fruit, and a variety of tea fresh coffee.
My husband could not sleep without a fan, and Raven at the front desk was nice enough to offer one for the evening.
We dined at a nearby Oregano's Everything was delicious.
Mike and Rhonda's restaurant was amazing as well. You talk about some down home cooking this is the place!
It will be looking to stay here again the next time we travel up in The Valley.

The front desk staff was so good I'm surprised they're still working at a Best Western.

Breakfast is quite good considering this hotel is in the bottom tier of BW hotels (not a plus or premier). The building is old, but the layout of the rooms is excellent. Doors are set back from the main hallway off another small hall, meaning you have no noise from people walking and talking in the hall.

This was our second time staying here. The first time was during the peek of the pandemic so obviously I expected more people to be around and service, friendliness and quality to go down. I was very happy to find out that only more people around was the change. Breakfast was plentiful and the attendant was very helpful. The receptionist were attentive and nice as before. And the cleaning crew did an excellent job just like before.

I'm afraid that if they keep this up and people (like me) keep posting good reviews next time I'm traveling and need to stay in Flagstaff there won't be a room available or the price would be out of my reach.

P.S. Yes, trains are noisy but I'm one of those people that the sky falling won't wake me up. Besides I also find the rhythm of the rolling training very comforting.

Where do I even begin? The front desk staff were friendly and checked us in promptly. They even acknowledged my BW status. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated the note in the room from the owner with their contact information. The pool was perfect for a hotel of this size. I also enjoyed that it was indoor due to some snow. The breakfast was outstanding both mornings and I liked the variety. The omelets and the biscuit gravy had a SW flavor that I want to replicate now that I'm home. Overall a perfect stay for our trip to the Grand Canyon.

Lovely quaint hotel in Flagstaff. The rooms were clean. Huge windows with views of outside. Lovely for when it snows. It snowed a lot the night we stayed. Would definitely stay here again. The free full breakfast was nice.

Clean, quiet, comfy beds, nice showers, staff was friendly, had no issues except the hot tub was broken and it’s next door , sucks in the winter to walk back soaked. The breakfast is next door and it’s the best breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel.
Breakfast was my favorite.
