It’s a step back in time, and place. A European chalet set in an Alps like setting. The rooms are decorated in old world charm. The beds are turned down each night with robes set on top with. Beautiful red rose, chocolate and a booklet of sonnets. The rooms are named after authors, poets or artists. The food is some of the best in state with numerous winning ribbons displayed. It’s very charming with great service, views and comfort. We keep coming back!

I entertained 5 people, 4 from out of town, last Wednesday for the chef's special dinner. From start to finish the evening was perfect. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in Swiss mountain themes, with linen tablecloths and napkins and adorned with fresh flowers. The group chose equally amongst the three entrees all of which were delicious with kudos from everyone. Molly was our server and was attentive, personable, helpful in navigating the menu, and courteous. The wine menu is perfect and complimented the courses well. The wine menu was not found online, however, which would have been helpful. The evening went well and I am anticipating return visits in the near future. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed for the weekend and were not disappointed! The room we stayed in was cozy. I loved the turn-down service, the fluffy robes, the fireplace, the in room snacks, and the Austrian details. The included breakfast was opulent, filling, and delicious. The staff are busy, but attentive. We always felt well cared for. Do not be deterred by their broken website - this place is a gem. They have incredible food, attentive and kind staff, and great accommodations.

Things of note: The ensuite bathroom felt dated, had poor lighting and a less than stellar shower experience. The TV is old, it was a 780p flat screen that included cable but no streaming options. The rooms do not have phones or alarm clocks. While these things would NOT deter us from booking again they did feel out-of-place when everything else was so well thought out.

Love ❤ this charming, quant & and romantic little gem that has a Germanic-Swiss feel. Love being surrounded by the many interesting, unique & antique decorative pieces.

It's my favorite restaurant when skiing in PC. Fantastic wine, cocktail, dinner & dessert menus!

Loved the Irish coffee. ☘

Excellent, attentive & skilled waitstaff!

Lovely setting with beautiful views of the mountains.

Hallways are interesting to meander through to admire the walls of culinary awards, ski medals, native artwork & German-Swiss decor.

Cozy little bar to enjoy a drink.

Hope to stay at their Inn sometime.

Beautiful neighborhood!

Addt'l parking lot with a quick, easy & safe walk to the restaurant.

Definitely recommend & and plan to go back!

If you're looking for a bed and breakfast in a Utah town that definitely looks like it's out of Switzerland, and you want the bed and breakfast to be literature themed and have numerous and varied crossbows on the walls and nicely taxidermied critters here and there, with unbelievable risotto, the Blue Boar Inn is the place for you.

We spent a very nice, relaxing anniversary here in the William Shakespeare room. We had dinner and the sous vide chicken and the fondue and the French onion soup and the braised pork shank were all great. The risotto was glorious. A revelation. Heavenly.

And the breakfast was excellent. Cinnamon brioche French toast, bacon, oatmeal... all delightful.

The service was exemplary as well. The location is gorgeous.

Note that if stairs are a serious challenge for you, this might be a hard place to get around in.

Excellent, world class experience!

We went to the restaurant and and a small tour of the premises. So beautiful, a great mix of Swiss and Bavarian , the rooms are gorgeous, very eclectic. The food was exceptional! My friends had Mahi Mahi, I had the grilled rosemary pork chop. Delicious does not even cover it. I was so impressed. I definitely will take my husband here for our anniversary, all the way from Idaho.

Great cozy place for a meal and gorgeous views. We had a great breakfast and watched the wild turkeys roam across the street. Very reasonably priced for the amount of food, quality, and freshness. Check out the cool shed on the back patio and try to guess which Netflix movie filmed some scenes here! Very fun place to visit.

My wife and I stayed two nights here for an anniversary getaway. The old world charm, the author-themed rooms, the Swiss/German vibes are all fun (for those who love history/Europe/literature, which we do). The food was great, we had three meals here, dinner and two breakfast meals. From appetizers, entrees, desserts, there was nothing we had that we didn't like. I give this place 5 stars because I would come back, and would recommend it as a very unique experience.

I do have one item that I feel needs attention though - maintenance on the property/rooms seem to have fallen by the wayside. Examples: deadbolt receiver to our room that is coming detached, loud water pipes in the wall, [all] windows that are inoperable, and the worst thing.. AC that doesnt work. Our room got up to almost 80 degrees each night and the only recourse was opening the patio door and waiting hours for the room to cool off (mid April). I would suggest a room not upstairs April - Sept because of this. Whats funny is these are the things you'd actually expect if the building were 100s of years old and in Europe.. but its not. The building was built in the 90s and needs some attention if I am going to stay overnight again in that same room. We're easy going people so this didnt ruin our stay, but for what we paid for a room it is value that is missing.

In the end, my wife and I had a wonderful time, and would recommend a stay. Book on the main floor, away from the noise of the restaurant. Exploring small town Midway/Heber, exploring the mountains, going into to Park City, all within 20 min.

We discovered this place while staying at the Homestead for Swiss days. We came for breakfast one morning and brunch the next day. The food was delicious and the service was just as great. We had Molly as our waitress both days and she was so friendly, kind and did a great job serving our food. My husband and I want to come back for our anniversary to stay. This is such a charming cozy spot! Highly recommend!

We stopped here for dinner, but didn’t stay in the hotel (wish we had!). The dinner was fantastic - delicious food, very friendly and efficient staff, and the ambience of the restaurant is charming. Highly recommend!

Booked dinner on a happenstance suggestion from some nice people we met in the coffee shop. Sometimes lightening strikes and a perfect meal happens in the perfect atmosphere. Ordered grilled oysters and wedge salad to start. Amazing! Oysters were grilled to perfect served on the half shell plated on a bed of salt. Wedge salad with blue cheese cherry tomatoes was my first thought when I woke up this morning. Delicious. Main course was braised pork shank and butternut squash ravioli. Perfect on all fronts, taste, aroma and presentation. All of this is set in an amazing old style European country inn. Beautiful, delicious, amazing and we will definitely repeat!

The Blue Boar Inn was so great! Wife and I took a small staycation here and our room was fantastic as well as the complimentary breakfast! We stayed in the William Shakespeare room which came with its own little private balcony, jetted tub, and more. Can’t recommend it enough! Definitely look forward to coming back here!! Also, you really can’t go wrong with anything on their breakfast menu.

My wife and I had a wonderful Valentines getaway here. We hope to return again sometime. The rooms are each named after notable writers and poets, and you can find a few samples of their works in their respective rooms. The inn itself has a cozy European architectural feel inside and outside that’s hard to find in the western U.S. but I must emphasize that the vibe is “cozy” not “old”.
The Tavern is a as good and Utah alcohol laws allow.
The food was spectacular and a highlight of the experience. The walls are decorated with beautiful ornate crossbows, and the scotch egg is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted, and is one of the reasons I plan to return.

Have not stayed in the rooms but the food and service rivals the best food in central Europe. It doesn't matter whether it is soup, cheese fondue, thee filet, or any other items, each selection is made to perfection. We try and find any excuse we can to eat lunch at the Blue Boar or a fine dinner...Love the service from both Erika and Juan.

Stopped in for breakfast on our way to the state park. The atmosphere is very nice and has an old timey high end inn feel. Gives an exclusive classy vibe. We both had the brioche French Toast which was excellent. Prices aren't high compared to everything else in the area(tourist pricing everywhere) and we actually considered it a bargain given the atmosphere. I would definitely recommended if you're looking for a little different atmosphere outside of the usual everyday places. The nice quiet breakfast next to the fireplace was a great start to the day.

The breakfast alone is worth staying here. The Sunday brunch was amazing, and something I would return for even if I wasn't staying at the Inn. The bed was really nice and everything was very clean.

I took one star off for the room (Emerson, 103) because our carpet was really, really worn out. Like it had actual holes in it. Also it was crazy hot in our room because the air conditioning unit in our room wasn't working. We asked about it at the front desk and they said it was working fine, but that they would send more air in with the building air conditioning. It still stayed super warm and only cooled off about halfway through the night. We know this was an issue in just our room because the other couple we were staying there with had a very cool room on the 2nd floor. The air conditioning unit in the room only ever put out slightly cooled air.

The staff was very helpful and friendly.

We did get charged $37 for 4 glasses of milk that we had brought to our rooms. Seemed a little excessive for 4 small glasses. (We had dessert from eating out at a different establishment that evening)

Overall it was a really nice stay and I would definitely stay here again. The location can't be beat. Very quiet and beautiful.

My husband and I had an enchanting stay at the Blue Boar Inn. First off, the staff were all great- front desk ladies were informative and helpful and servers at the restaurant were awesome. The location is wonderful- across the street from Wasatch State Park and close to everything. Our room exceeded our expectations! There was plenty of space, fireplace was very warm, bed was so comfortable (we meant to check what brand mattress they use), tub was large enough for two and everything was very clean. Their attention to detail in decor really brought you to Europe. Also, they leave fruit/cheese/crackers/chocolates in your room each day and perform turn-down service. The soaps/lotions they provided seemed good quality and have nice scents. We looked forward to the included breakfast each day. You get to choose from a standard menu and everything we had was delicious. The chef really knows how to balance flavors- we are harsh food critics and we were deeply satisfied with our breakfasts and dinner there. This is a gem of a BNB! Definitely come here if you’re considering staying in Midway.
