We really enjoyed our meal! The employees were so nice. I had a lamb dish, Amy had Chicken Sugaar. They were both delicious. The appetizer was super yummy too.

These small, local businesses have some of the best food in NKY. Stop in. Try some!

I need to go back for the banana butter milk shake myself!

We came here for lunch at around 1pm and there was no one there to take our order.
After some waiting, help finally arrived and they definitely made up for the delay. The food was delicious, the service was good, and the lady at the counter gave us free spiced tea as we were leaving (the tea was also delicious).
Heads up, the food here is Somalian, and the prevailing language here is not English. It's not for everyone, but if you're in the mood for authentic African fare then this is the place!

Every cuisine taste better when it’s made with love and joy. Hanilul Kitchen delivers all of that with bold East African Somali flavors!

Chef and owner Hannah greeted me with a charming and inviting smile! Her restaurant appears to be an unassuming African market from the outside, but inside you discover a stylish boutique with intricate wood trim, gold accents, and stylish decor.

Formally known as Rahma, it has been reinvented as Hanilul Kitchen, simple and delicious Somali comfort food.

For starters order the Sambusa! It’s like an empanada stuffed with delicious spicy ground beef. For the main dish you have to try the Suuqar with chicken or beef. The chicken has a similar sweet flavor profile to Indian masala. Definitely order some Mandazi sweet bread to sop up the flavor of rice and Suuqar! It tastes like a sweet naan bread.

For an after dinner drink try the Shaad Adays spiced tea with milk(it’s like Chai) paired with Mandazi.

This is an AMAZING place. Prices are so low compared to the quality and amount of food you get. The staff is so friendly! This is a starting business and we had no idea when we walked in that it had only been opened for 4 weeks. This place is phenomenal. I can't wait to continue to support these ladies and eat their delicious food! Thanks so much for amazing service

Absolutely amazing restaurant with the most calm and beautiful atmosphere, Senegalese and Ethiopian food to die for, and the nicest workers I have met in a long while. The only issue for them is that they're a bit hard to see from the street, but once you find them you will be hooked!

Everything we had was excellent. Sambusa app, chicken and beef suqaar with rice and flatbread. The watermelon and mango juices were amazing as well. The owner was very friendly and took great care of us. As many other have said he gave us free spiced tea at the end of our meal which was also excellent. Just fyi There is a slight language barrier but we got everything we asked for with no issues.

This place is a hidden gem . The food was amazing .had the sambusa appetizers and the goat for dinner some of the best I've ever ate. The food is from Africa the Somalia country. Was wonderful. The woman who served us was very gracious and told us all about the foods and region it came from . Was a very enjoyable meal. They opened in October and are a small place .next to an African market on Dixie hwy .from outside you might think it's not there but it is and is so worth it. It was very affordable too. Absolutely loved this place

I traveled real far to find this food. When they changed the name it really scared me that the place moved to a bigger city.
There's nothing else like this stuff, really unknown place. It's crazy more people don't come here.
Come with some friends and get a group dish for 25 bucks and really go in.

Made with care, you can eat it as a group. The best mix of flavors out there.

Best goat I've ever had.

This food is extraordinary! The Somalian rice is very tasty along with the goat and chicken saqeer. I recommend getting the flat bread with your dinner. It’s very light with a hint of sweetness. I spent over 25 years in the food business and look for special treats in my travels. This is one of them! It’s highly recommended!!! Deserves all 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was on the fence about whether to eat here while visiting for work but decided to go for it. The food was incredible. I had the chicken saqaar and had no idea what to expect. The service was great and very friendly. If you are in the fence like I was, give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

Went on a Friday night and we were the only people there. The food was very good and it cost about $40 for 2 adults, 2 kids (who admittedly barely eat), 4 drinks and a samosa. Not an extensive menu but good for a unique meal. We'll likely go back without the kids.

Really nice place to eat. It seems like they recently changed management, and name. I'd never been there before, so I can't compare, but they now have a nice concise menu(always a sign of a good restaurant), and a really cozy atmosphere. I ordered the goat with rice, and it was delicious. They also gave us some tea on the house, which was some of the best tea I've ever had. Really nice owner. Highly recommend.

Nice restaurant with pretty decor inside. Very friendly staff and phenomenal food! The food is so flavorful and don’t forget to order the Somali tea, wow! We had the Somali rice with fish and the Somali rice with goat. Both were incredible. For an app we had the sambusas which are like a triangle egg roll fill with savory meat. We are definitely going back!
