Authentic Pan Dulce one of the best bakery in Arizona making Mexican bread. A must visit if you want quality bread and special Pan de Muerto made for Dia de Los Muertos. So much options to choose from made daily.

Best bread in town. The tamales are good. The flour tortillas are the best. I have not tried the menudo it's only available Sat and Sun

Our favorite Phoenix-area Mexican bakery, La Purisma, is located near historic Downtown Glendale. While we don't know the name of everything we purchased during our most recent trip there, everything was excellent. Plus we enjoy ordering - "I'll have one of these and two of 'dem!" Great prices. Nice people! We will continue to make La Purisma a favorite Glendale stop

I heard about this place. It is definitely a must try. There’s usually a line, but that’s ok because there’s too much to choose from. While you wait your turn, it’s time to make some tough decisions: a highly addictive molasses-flavored cochinitos, the giant pink cookies shaped like pigs, or an apple dipped in salty sweet chocolate chamoy sauce? How about some soft, freshly made tortillas, or a dozen green and red chile tamales made with pork, cheese, roasted red pepper, and corn? Not to mention burritos also. The panderia also has a wide selection of pan dulce, plain but delicious sweet buns that are perfect to enjoy with a cup of coffee in the morning...

I have to tell you. I LOVE FOOD, you need to buy some tamales, take them home and grille them. They come out with crunch...fire

If you have a craving for authentic Mexican bread, flour tortillas, gelatins or plain sweet tooth for desert you have come here. There’s all kinds of deserts & fill your palette for any cravings. My to go to is their flour tortillas. They taste just like mom’s home made ones. I was made aware they also sell burritos & tamales. Staff is friendly & will get you in & out smoothly. Although there seems to be a long line every time I go in, the lines run fairly quickly. Prepare to pay with cash so you don’t get the small extra fee for paying with credit card/debit card or the system is down, BUT besides this, I highly recommend La Purisima Bakery.

A must every trip to Phoenix. It’s located in one of my favorite areas Glendale ❤ you can’t find any bakery better then them. I was born and raised on this Mexico born gem. Our favorites are the empanadas (buttery flaky bread) with the best fillings (piña/guava). Not pie filling, real fruit. The second favorites are conchas and cochinitos. The aroma will guide you through beautiful memories of past travels to Mexico. Pace your self and come back often!

The bread pastry’s are the best! I can’t think of one that that will let you down. They are amazing! The burritos are delicious, try the green chili! I believe they also have tamales and menudo on certain days, I haven’t tried them yet but I look forward to it. This visit was during the week and the atmosphere and line was great, hardly no wait. If you come here on the weekend, good luck! The line will likely go around the shop into the parking lot! It is crazy!

The green Chile burrito is fantastic and the tamales are the best I've ever tasted since my grandma's. The pastries are very tasty and the ladies are always so nice. I'll definitely be back!

Authentic pan dulce - conchas and marranitos are my go to. Delicious when they are so fresh. 👊🏼👊🏼 Family owned and operated with two locations- providing an assortment of pan dulce, tamales, burritos, tortillas, masa, menudo and cakes to order for special occasions.

Had an extra day added to our trip to Phoenix so my husband and I made sure we got to La Purisima Bakery before we headed back home.

This place is totally worth the hype!

It was a Tuesday afternoon at around 2:00 p.m. but there was still a line outside. A good indicator for sure.

They were so so many options inside and we had no idea what to go for. I looked up the must try foods at Mexican bakeries and made a short list.

Pumpkin Empanada was lovely! I thought it would have a crispy outside but it was more soft. It went really well with the filling. Filling was not super sweet or anything. Just a really good bake.

Chocolate Concha was so soft and fresh and light! Since it was so big I thought it would have some weight to it but it was actually really soft and light. Like cloud bread?
It stayed fresh even the next morning.
So nice to buy it into and we could have had more for sure.

The Flan was addictive! Some of the best flan my husband and I have ever had. Soft and silky and perfectly sweet. I didn't have it with the whipped cream on the side because I preferred it plain. Husband liked it both ways.

Had to get some of those Mexican Piggy Cookies aka Marranito because this is Christmas season right now.
Sweetness was just right, and subtle gingerbread flavor came through as well. Had this 3 days later and it was still soft and really good. Definitely recommend.

Not enough being said about the delicious flour tortillas! They make them fresh and you get them piping hot off the press. You can also request them already cooled down. Bread is delish and they also offer prepared food.

Such a wide variety of sweet bread. Very soft and delicious. There's always a big line to get your bread, but is well worth the wait

From the first thing in the morning until closing , everything is fresh.
Even though it is a Spanish bakery, don't let that scare you. They will help you and there won't be a problem. Dozens of breads, cakes, cookies, pastries...
I'm from Chicago and they have some spectacular bakeries.
La Purisma is now tied for 1st on my list. It is by far the best west of the Mississippi.
There is usually a line....sometimes up to 50 people or more, especially on the weekends. The women work very hard to get the line moving.

Honest review from white male who does not speak Spanish.

The weekends are busy and things move quickly so do a bit of preparation and enjoy the pastries. Heard great things about the tortillas but without a kitchen on the trip we had to forgo them but we did enjoy some Chile Verde Burritos and a smorgasbord of sweet pastries.

Awesome bakery recently remodeled and is way bigger bread is always delicious staff always nice very busy place during winter expect to spend some time in line and sometimes to find parking too. Bread is baked daily and tortillas too. Green burritos are good dont care much for the red ones or the tamales cakes are ok a little overpriced. Place is always clean !

They have so many different types of my favorite pan dulce here. Everything is baked fresh and very nicely presented. I've never seen so many types of empanadas. My favorite are the triangle polvorone cookies. They are so soft, buttery and sweet. I can't wait to come back and try some more. I highly recommend trying out this bakery.
