Beautiful landscape garden with kids adventure trails. Ample seating in front of the river flowing.
Walking trails. Light decorations after the twilight.
Being g week days, perhaps food stalls were closed.
Nice place for si gle/ couple or families.

What a great riverfront. We had our Golden Doodle with us on a Sunday in early April. So nice taking a stroll up and down the river.

As beautiful as it gets! One of the finest parks ever visited. Owensboro should be very proud of what they have. The most peaceful place you could ask for. Highly recommend for everyone of all ages.

Fantastic playground! Splash pad, beautiful view of Ohio River and bridge that is lit up at night with multi colors. Lots of seating, restrooms, walking distance to nearby restaurants. Dog on leash friendly. Non smoking. Very well done POW MIA Memorial.

I enjoyed stopping by the park very much. The bridge is beautiful and the entire park was lovely. Very clean and peaceful even with several people there. Will definitely be returning.

Such a fun playground, wonderful walk way along the river, and great benches and places to sit and eat!

We had a blast at the air show. The park is really nice. Kids definitely will enjoy it. And in the summer time they have a splash pad that's one of the nicest I've seen!

It was our first time visiting Smothers Park. This is a place that I will put on my list of places to visit again .I don't have young children but that playground is the most awesome one that I have ever seen .The view of the river and the bridge are amazing from Smothers Park .There are lots of statues and sculptures to admire .Also noted are the restaurants and hotels less than a block away.I was very impressed by this riverfront park .

What an incredible playground park for kids in the 3-12 range. It’s massive first off, with tons of rooms for a lot of kids. It’s got a lot of character too with huge trees you can explore and walk through, rope bridges, climbing walls- and of course complete with a splash pad. All this nestled up to the river with beautiful views of the town and the bridge. Way to go Owensboro!!

Beautiful riverfront park with a huge playground and splash pad. Lots of seating around for parents. Some, but not a ton of shaded area. Concession stand and excellent view of the Ohio River. Huge bug, turtle, frog and other figures hidden throughout the park. Best of all, it’s free!

The downtown riverfront and Smothers park is one of the best parts of Owensboro. The downtown area is clean and well maintained. The playground is huge and great for kids of all ages. The views of the river from downtown are amazing and the large paved walking path along the river is really nice with a lot of benches along the way. If you want an even better view of downtown, get on the top floor of the parking structure. There are a few restaurants along the river but most are within walking distance one block away. Would recommend going to the downtown riverfront and smothers park for a nice stroll along the Ohio river.

Absolutely beautiful, well maintained park. We visited on a Monday evening about 6 pm, and it was not crowded at all- granted it was close to 95* still, but a nice wind blowing.
There is a HUGE play structure, and within it are areas specific for different aged children. The child I was with was 8 so she was in the “Fox” play areas. There were 3 Fox play areas and let me tell you, some of that climbing equipment was challenging for me! I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the play set as did my much younger friend. The ground is cushioned and the equipment was clean and graffiti free.

Walking along the water, there were many, many different types of seating available. From standard plantar wall seating to beautiful metal swings, to really cool metal boxes, plenty of shaded and uncovered seating. We walked just about the whole length of the park and it was all very clean- no litter, no graffiti. Should mention the beautiful splash pad- looked very refreshing on this hot evening. We enjoyed our time at this lovely park and plan on coming back to enjoy the play set and concession stand soon!

I hadn't been in the area for years, and the renovation was astounding. I only viewed the children's play area, but it looked lovely and the ground felt kid-friendly. There were permanent concessions stands and public bathrooms available. The swings set up to view the river were great!

Absolutly perfect place to spend the day with family, day or evening! Perks are the waterfall to the river, the swings set for all ages and more. Nice touch made by the city of Owensboro.

Went to Friday after 5, with my baby girl, we loved it all, the food trucks,the concession stands,the bands playing music,artist singing, djs spinning music , all the beautiful people here was laughing n gathering to enjoy Owensboro,ky riverside, it was an amazing experience!! And Dancing was the best part of it ..well controlled by our finest police officers, just a wonderful place to let loose meet amazing people and just have fun, there's an alcohol part here as well, for those who enjoy a few drinks, will be ID..kids are playing on the park equipment and having fun in the water spray area, it's definitely a a fun place for the whole area, restrooms are available, and plenty sitting places , or bring your own chairs, lots of walking space, thousands were gathered and no crowded places was uncomfortable by no means...parking around the site available, please watch for pedestrians tho..and just have fun like we did !!! Starts on Friday 5 p.m. to 10..ish p.m.

They have done a great job at fixing this place up. Great for kids and just walking. Great place!

Phenomenal free park that is wheelchair accessible. Includes a splash pad area.

Only downside is no surrounding fence making trips with multiple children more challenging. A must see in Owensboro.

Beautiful park. The playground is very unique. And we loved the to swings around in front of the river. Many different ways to relax and just enjoy family time! It's was a Tuesday evening and not many things were open. So I can't say anything to about the businesses around.

We heard that Owensboro invested tens of millions into this waterfront. It shows.

Grat fountains, rocking benches, and sights. Great views.

Also my goodness the playground there is hands down the best playground my wife and I have ever seen. Once we have kids and start taking them on trips we are stopping here.
