The Famous Bistro

This was our first visit, and it will not be our last. This downtown restaurant was excellent in many ways. The menu selection and special were all appealing. I had the pasta carbonara with crake cake, and my wife had the bourbon chicken. Both were delicious. The server was on the ball, friendly, and very helpful. The only downside was that the place is small and has tightly spaced tables and seating. Friday night, this place was packed, and the sign out front read, "reservations only."

Great dinning experience: I was in town for a week on business. I ate here 3 days in a row.. the atmosphere is intimate and very friendly. The service is outstanding. When I walked in on day three the waiter from the day before said hello joe to me before I was even seated. With all that being said, it’s hard to say, but the food cooked by the chef there was the absolute best part each day. the food got better and better each day. They have a bar where you could sit and watch him cook dinner. I would pay the price of the dinner, just to watch this chef cook my dinner. My only regret is, I can’t give them six stars!! If I am ever In this part of Kentucky, I’ll be sure to eat dinner there.

We arrived for our reservation and were seated promptly. Our table was ready, including two menus, two appetizer plates, and our silverware all ready at the table for us.

To start, we ordered the Spanakopita Bites: Flakey Phyllo Dough stuffed with Spinach, Greens, Leeks, Scallions, Romano, and Feta. The phyllo was flaky and tender and the layers of filling were savory and delicious. A glass of Chimay accompanied this for me, making it a very nice appetizer. The fresh bread was soft and hot as well.

For my main course, I selected the Filet Mignon and opted for the Au Poivre. The salt and pepper crust was among the best I've had and was a perfect contrast to the buttery tender filet underneath. Accompanying the filet were roasted potatoes, crispy and delicious, as well as the sautéed Brussels sprouts I substituted in place of the asparagus. While the sprouts were perfectly cooked, the accompanying cooking liquid in the bowl was slightly too salty for my taste.

My wife chose the Slow Braised Pork Chop with a Rosemary-Peppercorn Gravy. The chop was thick cut. Abiut two inches to my estimation. Perfrctly cooked and fork tender. The silky gravy was a perfect complement. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were heavy on the garlic, which was appreciated. She substituted haricot verts in place of the brocollini and was very satisfied.

For the dessert, we took a slice of the caramel chocolate brownie a la mode with us to go, as the dinner was too filling to be able to enjoy it before we left.

Atmosphere at the restaurant is cozy, the tables are close together, but they do offer an outside dining experience. The quality and presentation of the food lends itself to their "fine dining casual" theme, however the music was just loud enough to be a distraction and was the only complaint we had about our evening.

Overall, I'm very happy with our experience and we will return for sure.

We ordered take out. It was ready on time and hot b The pork chop was so tender and one of the best I ever had! The moussaka was out of this world. We also ordered the 3 person cheese tray , wonderfully delicious! Slighty more expensive than most, but the quality of the food shows it

This is a wonderful "double restaurant" in town. Lunch is reasonable and very tasty, but at night I'd consider it more fine dining. Reservations are recommended for evening meals.

They have one of the best chefs and crew in the back of the house, and their specials will always pique your interests.

I've never walked away thinking i wasted my money. One of my favorites in town!

The food is delicious and my bf gyro was the best I ever had in my life omg Makayla was our server she was wonderful very nice we asked what she recommends and gave us soup to try she was very wonderful thank you

Loved the cheese plate. Lamb shank was falling off the bone. Creme Brulee was delicious. The Old Fashioned was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Hello from Mobile, AL! This place is so cute! It reminds me of Delphina's in Mobile. The food is excellent. I had the Hungarian Mushroom soup and it was like warm, smooth comfort going into my belly. I need that recipe. Great service and atmosphere.

The bistro has a relaxing environment that’s classy. I really enjoy all the people there. If you haven’t ever been I highly recommend

Flavorful food with LARGE PASTA portions.

Old restaurant on the strip. Kinda dark inside but don't let that scare you off, this place is a gem. The wait staff was AMAZING, super fun, friendly, and professional. Left nothing to be desired. The food was also excellent, the desserts to die for. Definitely worth a stop if you are nearby.

A cozy atmosphere in the downtown scene. The classic Greek-American menu won't disappoint. I recommend you start off with the Artichoke Dip.

The service was well orchestrated. Multiple servers asked if we had been taken care of, the team attitude in customer service was a pleasant surprise.

Side note- space is limited so call ahead for reservations.

It’s always great … for lunch; no matter what you order food is always phenomenal. Today for the first time I went for dinner and one of them was really rude to my niece. I don’t think George would have been happy. Greta.

Love this place! Food was exceptional! Servers very knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients used. We had one in our party with dietary restrictions, and chef accommodated us. Highly recommend the prime rib on Friday's!!

Everything was cooked to perfection. Today's special was a smoked brisket. It was excellent! Reservations are not required but highly recommended.
