These guys are truly amazing. My son started in the 5-7 year old class. The patience, kindness, and leadership of the instructors is top notch. First class training. Coach Josh, Drake, Adrian are incredible at what they do.

Not to mention the skill level and experience the coaches bring to the mat.

It’s a blessing to the community to have this caliber of school in a small town.

My daughter and I have been a part of Gracie Owensboro for a little more than four years now. I can’t begin to recommend the services they provide enough. Whether your goal be self defense, better physical fitness, self esteem boost, pursuit of discipline, or all of the above, your goals can be met all in one room. I can be a very particular about who I let my teach/train my kids in anything, so after a short period of time training by myself I knew this would also be the perfect place for my daughter, and I trust them with her as if they were my family.
With all that said don’t hesitate because if you do eventually you will regret doing so.

This place deserves a 12/10 for communication. Their emails are spot on and their ability to connect with families is exemplary! I am so glad we found Gracie and I am proud of the growth I already see in my son. The other day he was being lazy when doing his exercises. Coach Josh knew he could do better and said "when you cheat on your exercises, you're not cheating me, you're cheating yourself". Right before bed that night, my son mentioned what he said and prayed about it. Josh coaches the whole child and I appreciate him for that. Thank you for all you do for our kids.

I've been training at Gracie Owensboro for close to 3 years. A lot of the same people are still there and I have had the pleasure of gaining real friendships. We have a common goal of just trying to be better then we were the day before. My son is 10 and also has the pleasure of training. He enjoys learning to defend himself while making new friends. The academy is growing and it has been good to see in just a few short years the progress that it's made. The coaches are outstanding and are providing world class instruction from world class athletes. I definitely recommend coming in and trying it out. We are all down to earth. What else do you have to do with your time?

My 9yr old has taken 6 weeks worth of classes and is enjoying most of the classes. The instructors do a great job of making the students earn there stripes through actually learning the skill or hold and using them in class sessions. That is one of the biggest values I appreciate about the instructors at Gracie JJ, you actually have to work for advancement, it’s not just handed to the student. My 9yr old is slowly figuring that out, great life lesson. Thanks guys

Purple belt Visiting from Chattanooga. My brother trains at this facility. Came in for open Mat. Clean facility with lots of mat space. Everyone I met was kind and welcoming. Good rolls with people that aren’t trying to hurt you or prove something, yet competitive. Will definitely be coming back next time I visit my brother.

Josh and his team at Gracie Owensboro have been absolutely amazing to my son who does Jiu Jitsu there. The classes have taught him so much not only physically but mentally as well. We have seen so much growth in my sons confidence and desire to push through even when things get hard. Josh genuinely cares about every kid who enters that gym regardless of their skill level and is able to meet them where they are at and help them grow!

I got to train at Gracie for a very short time. I was just getting started when Covid kicked off. The instructors, and students at Gracie were so patient and absolutely awesome to work with. I am hoping to come back in one day and start fresh with my learning!

Gracie is best training there is by far. The instructors at Gracie are the most capable instructors I have ever met for children or adults.

We’ve been coming to Gracie since 2017 and my kids love it!! Even I started the woman’s class! Coach Josh and the rest of the team are phenomenal. It’s always been more like a family than anything else!

Our 3 children attend beginner’s class. I admire the encouragement of discipline, respect, values along with the exercise and technique development. The environment is family-like and kids are all encouraged to be their personal best.

Gracie Owensboro as a whole is a great place to either start or continue your grappling or striking journey. Coach's are very knowledgeable, have a ton of patience, and break down the lessons so anyone can understand them. The members of this gym are also an outstanding diverse group of people. Everyone there is welcoming, and looking to help each other in all aspects. Gracie Owensboro is a cure all for anything going on in your life. Just show up and find out!

Top of the line instructors and welcoming atmosphere. Lots of skillful, experienced, and high character practitioners here. Everyone is always willing to help the newcomers, like myself, get better and that’s what makes me love the environment at the gym.

After years of contemplation I finally found myself at Gracie Owensboro. The concerns for the future were immediately submitted from my mind the second I entered the Academy. The instructors and students took me in without a hitch. The facility is clean and well laid out. The instructors are adamant about teaching their craft. I was hooked. These are now my people.

This place is amazing. Coaches are so good with the kids. They want to know about there lives and help them though any problems that they have off the mats. More than just a sport you become apart of a family that truly cares. If you are looking for a place for yourself or your kids go check them out.

This was my first exposure to any martial arts, and it was very positive! I had a limited experience with Gracie Owensboro due to a pre-existing injury, but once I fully recover I’ll most definitely be going back. The gym has a family like atmosphere and everyone is happy to explain different positions and moves. Practicing Jiu Jitsu is much more difficult than it looks, you’d be surprised how difficult it could be to get a rear naked choke completed on an opponent who knows how to protect it! I’d recommend to check it out for yourself.

Gracie Owensboro is the best gym around! Josh Hayden is a world renowned jiu jitsu practitioner who pours his knowledge into each one of his members in a very family friendly atmosphere. Guys and girls from different age levels, races, and walks of life come together everyday to share in this knowledge and vibe with people that are different than themselves. Everyone from the coaching staff to the members themselves are wonderful and this truly is one big family. Come learn with us!!
