Affordable Hybrid Repair of Tampa Bay

I reached out to Paul at Hybrid Repair after realizing that most mechanics in the area didn't have the software necessary to work on my 2012 Toyota Prius after the brake actuator broke. My only other option was the Toyota dealership, but they wanted to charge me $200 an hour. Paul took care of the problem for me for almost half the price and was always available to chat and communicate on the phone when I needed to reach out and ask questions. If you have a hybrid and need work, I highly recommend this company.

I may have taken years to find the first two but the last, the mechanic, only took a phone call - Paul.

I received the “triangle of death” at the beginning of the new year & I instantly panicked. Frantically called around for quotes while simultaneously stressing over my bank account. I told my partner I don’t care if we drive to the 7 mile marker in The Keys (coming from Jacksonville) - I’m not and cannot give Toyota 5k.

A few Google’s and SHAZAAM! I find Paul! Paul corresponded with me consistently over the course of 2 weeks and we scheduled me in to bring my 2013 Toyota Prius.

Paul and his father serviced, installed the new battery and even topped off the fluids I was lacking within record time!

His lovely wife, Tiffany, entertained me and my partner while the guys got the job done and she was even multitasking and putting in work on her moms car while keeping us laughing!

I had mentioned a few things I’ve procrastinated over due to cost and hard times (one being my ac), Paul jumped right in and even fixed my ac issue (which was out for two years). I love my car and have for almost 8 years now… Paul had me humming back to Jacksonville with ac and a new battery within an hour thirty for a beyond reasonable and feasible amount! Just incredible.

I’m actually looking forward to seeing them all again! And now that Paul has made me aware of certain codes I didn’t know about - I’m sure I’ll be seeing them sooner than later. :)

2010 Prius 340k replace battery warning came on Paul came out after hours to look at car connected his computer and the diagnostic seems to have cleared my codes and the car starts and runs normal no new battery or cells needed woo hoo

Best prices, service, and warranty. Paul maintained excellent communication constantly via phone and text. His father drove to my workplace (more than 300 miles each way) and repaired my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. He was quick, friendly, and personable. PLUS, I wasn't inconvenienced at all. It is awesome to feel like I am driving a new car again!

Thank you. I went to a Toyota dealer and my hybrid battery was going to cost $3600. I called Affordable Hybrid Repair of Tampa Bay and I was quoted less than half that price with a five year warranty. Thank goodness, I almost traded my car in due to dealer price for a hybrid battery. They came to my home replaced and I was up and running the same day. It has been 2 months and my car is running perfectly. Thank you! I highly recommend these guys if you need a hybrid battery! Don't hesitate to call Affordable Hybrid Repair. 3 times now that this wonderful family owned business has saved us from the desperation of dealership abuses. They drive to us (Fort Pierce) all the way from Tampa; they are pleasant to deal with, they charge between a third and a half of the Toyota dealer price and they actually know what they are doing better than everybody else! Quality, competence and devotion to the right cause; we are so thankful that we found them... We wish them a long and healthy life!

I literally cannot say enough positive things about this family repair shop. I have been to them twice for two repairs that almost forced me into a different vehicle. Once about seven months ago for my hybrid battery that they were able to replace for much cheaper than Toyota was and it came with a five year warranty and then recently with my master cylinder and brake booster pump which also came with a warranty as well. It is so incredibly refreshing to know that there are still honest mechanics out there that are willing to go above and beyond to bring you the best service that they can. Everything from the incredibly quick response time from Paul at any time of day to emails, texts or calls, their flexibility, quick turn around, warranty, prices at 1/3 of dealership prices and the fact that they don't try to get you to do any unnecessary repairs that the dealership tries conning you into. I could not recommend their shop enough and will definitely recommend them to anyone and will be back for any future repairs.

I have not had the opportunity to go into Affordable Hybrid repair but I’m leaving this review as a thanks to them. I called in to find out how much a diagnostic would cost since I was struggling with diagnosing my sisters Honda Civic Hybrid. Paul actually took some time out of his busy day to give me some pointers over the phone. He actually helped me diagnose the 12v battery was failing just from what I had found in my testing. He was nice enough to help me over the phone and saved me some money so the least I could do is leave him a great review. I know where to take my Hybrid from now on! Thanks!

Second time coming here for our 2007 Prius. The first time they replaced the hybrid battery system. $1500 with 5yr warranty, almost 2/3 less than the dealer!!!

This time it was the ABS Actuator. Another big job, for another $1200, but this was 2 years after the battery replacement and still more than half off what the dealership wanted. He fixed the driver locking mechanism too while he had it. Ya it cost a bit more but now we have a 13yr old Prius that runs like brand new!!!

These guys were a lifesaver! After receiving the triangle of death "Check Hybrid System" message, Toyota diagnosed as the hybrid battery going bad and quoted $3800 to replace. Hybrid Repair came to my house the next day, replaced the battery in an hour for $1500, and were on their way. Car is running great and battery has a 5 year warranty, but hopefully I won't have to test them on that. If you need a new hybrid battery, go with these guys!

HIGHLY recommend!!! It's refreshing to deal with an HONEST mechanic. Paul and his father are incredibly knowledgeable as well as ethical. I'd had Toyota of Tampa (on Fletcher) say I needed a list of items replaced (& try to sell me a used car while I was waiting). I knew some of it was bogus since I'd just replaced them, but Paul was able to verify and save me hundreds. This is THE mechanic to go to!

My Girlfriend just got her battery replaced on her 2112 Toyota Prius . They came to her home and did the work in her driveway. 2 months -Now. Half the price of the Toyota Dealer replacement. And she paid for the 5 year warranty..
no problems- so far . Will update at end of this summer.

Affordable pricing and knowledgeable mechanics. Paul was absolutely amazing! Very knowledgeable, helped me avoid two lemons. Even though his mechanic couldn't make it out to perfom a pre-purchase inspection on a used Prius for me, he had a car issue of his own that day. I love my 3rd Generation Prius, and perform maintenance on it constantly. It is important that it remains perfect because I am a rideshare driver and use this tool everyday. In September 2018 some lights appeared on my dashboard that I had never seen before. I took it to the mechanic that does my normal maintenance, he looked at it and advised he couldn’t figure it out and suggested I take it to the Toyota dealership. My worst fear just came true. I took it to them, they scanned it, and charged me $69.00 plus tax. I took their receipt for $2200.00 and started searching the Internet for Florida hybrid mechanics. I lucked out big time and found this company with my favorite word in their company name “affordable” I called at 9pm ET and Paul answerd! I advised him of the situation, he had me up and running in 4 days, and with no lights on my dash for close to half the price Toyota wanted to charge me. I love this company, and will now be a lifetime customer!
