Empress Chili

I love Cincinnati style chili. There are a lot of chili parlors close to my house. I choose to drive 30 minutes to the only remaining Empress Chili. I think most of the chili parlors taste similar. As does this one. The portion on my four-way was a bit larger here though. The prices are definitely better here than it's competitors. So, what you get for your money is definitely more here. The staff was wonderful. You absolutely need to drive here to try this food. 8/1/2023 we ate there again. Just wow. The portions were humongous. This is some of the best tasting food I've ever had. I absolutely love this place.

This is my favorite restaurant in the world. I come here every year on my birthday. Their Chili Pizza is my favorite item, but you can order anything… and it’ll be good. What I’m also impressed with… is the staff. Always polite, always friendly, and more than anything… they make the experience truly terrific! ❤ 5/5

Legend. Nothing else needs to be said. Empress started the entire Cincinnati chili genre and they're still the best cheese coney there is. Empress #1 and then the pretenders. Raised on it, raising my kids on it. Love Empress!

Empress Chili never disappoints. Great, homemade flavor and atmosphere that you never get at the other chili chains. Now that I know it's there (none near me unfortunately) I'll definitely be back!

Empress Chili, the original Cincinnati chili. The chili pizza is one of a kind and phenomenal. Include a Barq's Red Cream soda to round out your experience.

I just having lunch with the owner and his daughter of Empress Chili and we have discussed several things about the brand and the quality of Empress Chili and I am here to tell you there is none other if you have never tried them you don't know what you're missing. And their prices are very reasonable! Everybody Talks Of Skyline and gold star Chili. But so many don't realize that the skyline brothers that started their brand got their start at Empress Chili years ago. So blessings too the Martin family and thank you so much for keeping such a true Cincinnati traditional life even through the covid scare. My husband and I ate at Empress Chili in Alexandria last night and loved it!!!
A new lady waited on us and her manager was right there helping her!

Our 4ways and cheese coneys were delicious! We were both pleasantly surprised by the amount of spaghetti & chili was in our 4 ways. It was a very generous serving 😍

I don't eat chilli but wanted to join my friends for lunch here. So I ordered a Chicken Salad sandwich and I really liked it a lot, for both the texture and the taste. It seems they make the chicken salad every morning fresh. This is my first time there and I will definitely go back again. My friends ordered the chilli and they all liked it. This place is a hidden gem and the staff is very friendly.

Empress has the best ham and beef double deckers. The meats are piled so high I cannot get my mouth around the sandwich. Glad to see they are open for dine-in service again. Hoping they will soon be able to extend their service to include dinner hours again.

It's different from other Cincinnati-style chilis. My first impression was that the flavors were muted, but as I ate I realized that the spice balance was different. It reminds me more of what I expect out of how you'd season moussaka. I really enjoyed it.

Good food, so much better than skyline!

My favorite Cincinnati style chili parlor. Best flavor and generous portion and price no other chain can touch. The Original and still the best. Wish there were more locations.

Everything was excellent. Best Cincinnati chili out there. The only downside was the long drive, but they are not to blame for that.

Nice, welcoming, clean dining room. Walk up counter to order, real dishes and silverware. Self serve drinks. The chili is too greasy for my taste, but love the chicken salad plate--two scoops of chicken salad, tomatoe slices, hard boiled egg, pickles and baby carrots on a bed of shredded lettuce for about $7.00

The food and service are always fantastic. The staff is always friendly. I love the coneys and their chicken salad plate. Our whole family loves it there!

Steve (the owner) is a genuine, kind-hearted man with a heart for the community, his customers, and his team members. And that care and love can be found in his restaurant.
