I had a visit from the folks at Code Enforcement initiated by a phone call from a cowardly neighbor. We found our interaction with all in the Code Enforcement unit to be very professional, courteous, and respectful. We responded in kind, and it turned out ours was a non issue. They also provided us with the name and address of the reporting party (as required by law) , although it proved to be fake l.(cowards!). Thanks!!

When you have a problem with people in your neighborhood, code enforcement is a great and PEACEFUL alternative! Thank you for restoring peace to our HOME! God bless you all. Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

If you have an issue that requires someone to investigate after standard work hours, forget about having anything done. This county needs a good dose of intelligence and understanding that they work for the taxpayers, not the other way around. The "good ole boy" culture runs very deep so sonny boy if you think they will enforce anything, think again.

This has the be the dumbest division ever. Got sited for a no permit for a fence that they approved and finalized the permit for. Then get told I have to go to court to figure it out. What a joke! Susie singer is 100% incompetent to even write a citation correctly. She makes way too many mistakes. When they find out they just close the old one and rewrite it to fit. Frank that runs the place will tell you he doesn’t need to show you a violation because he knows what they say. Aaron Poole will threaten to “just put a lien on your property and we’ll sell it” hernando county code enforcement are nothing more than thugs that will do more threatening than actual helping of the citizens..

Group of us went to Roger’s park for a kayaking trip one of our friends went and paid for the parking fee through the machine and we all had a great day. 2 weeks later I receive a ticket in the mail for 50 dollars saying I didn’t pay for parking. I personally didn’t pay for parking but one of the ppl in our group did but apparently becouse it wasn’t in my name I still have to pay the ticket why a joke these ppl are

A waste of Hernando County Government payroll. They do nothing and Hernando County keeps getting worst. People who have grass 4 feet high, multiple junk unregistered cars parked all over their yard, trash everywhere scattered all over their property ( a rats haven!)

And these people do absolutely NOTHING. Spring Hill use to be a Deed Restricted Community whereas you needed to maintain your property. Was told that no longer exists. Is that right.

Fire them all and do away with code enforcement, because enforcement isn't in their chemistry.

I guess if you live in the country in Hernando county. . . you can get away with anything. . . even having a junkyard in front of your home. Cannot file a grievance (without the individual violating county standards is made aware of who is filing the complaint). . . way to go Hernando Code Enforcement. Three years now having to deal with dump/junkyard.

I have reported my neighbor for running a business out of her house and violating every condition of her permit numerous times, yet nothing has been done. She’s making it an unsafe place for the residents that live here and for the children. Please do something before her negligence causes a major tragic incident.

I have lived in Hernando county for over 30 years and have had minimal contact with these folks for issues that were not pertaining to me but to another. Simply put this is the most useless government entity I have seen to date. Outside of Washington DC itself. They are very quick to tell you what they can't do verses what they can. They seem unenthusiastic about any issue and have no people skills, it appears to be a job they have for life the good ol boy system is clearly evident here. I suppose that's what happens when your job is a lock because of the people you know in the county. I see no reason for them to exist as an agency just a waste of tax payers money.
I would love to see them publish an actual annual report of their accomplishments. I am sure it is quite small.

I knew once I saw the 1 star rating that they weren't going to help me with a thing when I called. Called about an issue going on with the neighbor and got a rude guy over the phone that acted like listening to my issue was a waste of his time. He clearly did not know what the code even was and did not care to figure it out to help. I should have already known from other reviews. They're all true. Like another said, best way to go is get a lawyer.

These people are incompetent, backward, hillbillies. Had an HVAC system put in, permit gotten by the company, with an inspection date. It was dated for today. First person I talked to here told me the permit wasn't issued. After I told her it's taped on my front window, and the system is installed, she got confused and transferred me. Second person I spoke with told me the permit was issued but the inspection date wasn't set. I guess I won't be getting an inspection haha. Probably for the best. Hernando County and Brooksville are incompetent. Gov't in general is incompetent. The combination of the two is laughable.

Jackie was a very nice lady and handled everything very professionally. On the other hand the "investigator" by the name of art was very unprofessional yelling at my 77 year old grandmother in front of everyone. Very rude and feeling like he was tough yelling at a senior citizen. I hope he does not talk to other people like this. VERY VERY unprofessional. It broke my heart seeing my grandma get treated like this.

I've been waiting for 6 weeks for abandoned waste/furniture/debris to be removed for 6WEEKS from the neighbor directly next door. I now have rats in my yard as a result. Nothing has been done other than a certified letter. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE NEXT TO THIS!

My Husband and I have been calling for days and nobody picks up or calls us back. Trying to get information on a lien and when I follow the instructions the website has nothing. There is a "lien" on our property but when I check public records its blank! Now we cant sell the property because of this "lien". No help when your trying to follow the rules and pay what they say we owe, so they continue to add Penalties and we now can't sell our property! Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last that answers the phone is useless and very rude
Code enforcement is useless in Hernando county. They could care less just take more tax prayers money and do nothing to help the county

We have called several times to report a code enforcement violation on a home and they have done nothing about it.

This is really affecting the value of our home and our neighbors.

Apparently there job is to answer phones and tell you they aren’t going to do anything, I mean at least pretend you care.
