This is an absolutely FABULOUS school. This school is improving and working towards being one of the top rated schools in the county! This staff is hardworking and beyond dedicated to the children that attend! Moving from a D rated school to a B rated school in the 2015-2016 school year, is evidence that the teachers and staff have worked diligently to improve the education, communication and parent involvement activities. Just yesterday teachers, staff and administration visited student homes delivering school materials and backpacks to welcome them to the new school year. We love our Belleair Family!!!

Belleair Elementary has a wonderful caring set of teachers and support staff. Given the demographics of the area around the school, it is a wonderful school that challenges its current population.

Overall the school is better then it was several years ago..but not as good as when I attended in the early 90s.
Thankfully, my daughter was enrolled in PreK classes with ESE for speech. The speech therapists here, as well as the two teachers she has had, were phenomenal! She made huge strides in a short amount of time.
However, not all teachers are worth this praise. And don't get me started on some of the office administration. The Principal herself has always been very kind and outgoing. Cindy, in the front office, is a breath of fresh air! Other woman in the office is not. Very judgy, rude to parents and students, talks down to children and a lot of the children are afraid or do not like her. And almost all of the parents I know who's children attend here feel the same. Not very outgoing or empathetic at all.
The P.E. teacher, Lunch ladies are all very sweet.
Fellow parents and some students however are very unkind and rude. I guess it goes with the area but I have seen fights in the parking lot & way too many police vehicles there for an ELEMENTARY school.
If you have little ones- PreK teachers Wilkinson & Wanicki are amazing! They deserve a raise and more appreciation for their hard work!

Behavior issues, rude staff, downright horrible interactions witnessed between staff and children - these are just some of the issues we faced with our son attending the 3 year old vpk program here. From what I can tell Mrs. Wanicki does her best to create a nurturing environment...but many parents just use these programs as glorified daycare with little concern of how their child's behavior will affect a classroom. We just had too many incidents with our son getting hurt, being bullied (not only by other kids), or coming home with one more "boo boo" to feel comfortable that this was a safe environment when not in his "home room".

Beyond that, it seems that our son was acting out a lot due to boredom or lack of attention which caused issues for him in the class and at home. A week or so out of school and many of the behavior issues are gone, couple that with a different program with more resources and attention for each child and we're dealing with a different kid all together.

Take the extra time, find a place that nurtures your child on their level.

The administration of this school have no idea what they are doing. The principle seems to have her own agenda and makes up her own rules during the school year. I think she tends to have a prejudice and biased demeanor towards Caucasians. I am so happy my
family members no longer have to attend this school. It is sad that this school has outstanding teachers that the administration runs them down without any appreciation and reward system. Pinellas School Board should fire the principle and assistant principle and start over. I would not recommend this school to anyone. Go with school choice before being stuck with them.

This school has numerous issues:
-Non commutative. Issues with responding to emails/notes for help.
-An elementary school needs to do a much better job of informing parents of how the student is doing.
-The website has not been fully functional for months and again not communicated.
-The school is not teaching keyboarding/computer literacy but is requiring students to take tests online. (the have limited computer lab time..point and click..not keyboarding or literacy)
-The office is unprofessional, unhelpful, and discourteous.
-Current teacher is fond of saying not my problem to students and other pearls of wisdom.
-Errors found in handouts/homework and it took emails to the board to deal with.
-When I've requested assistance from teacher it has been ignored.
-Homework sent home with no instructions..this is elementary..students often won't remember how to do new math.
-Crossing Guard issues at entrance/exit..it is a gym teacher who is finishing up class so often not there right away and sometimes stepping into the road to direct the traffic snarl in front of the school that leads to a crossing area being un or undermanned.

I hope your experience is/will be better. Good luck.

So ghetto :( not the friendly environment I was hoping for my innocent little man. The principal and others in the office were rude and after looking at my sons MAINE state birth certificate she asked me if Maine was in Florida.. Embarrassing, Hopefully finding private school
