Dunbar's BBQ & Soul Food

This is a place to stop. Truckers, good food. When I went in yesterday, they had baked chicken, pork chops, ribs, mac & cheese, rice, and green beans. I got the bake chicken with mac & cheese and green beans. I love the chicken. Mac & cheese taste better when it’s hot and also I tasted they use mushroom soup in it. Lot of food for me. I saved it and put it in the fridge. You got to call to find out what they are serving for today. When I’m back in town, I will be back.

Great place of getting good soul food, and they give you a lot you will pay!! But it's worth it, take out only may have a line but don't leave. You won't regret it.

First time trying this place. The building and area are not appealing but I’m glad that didn’t stop me! Please
don’t let it stop you! My food was so good! Didn’t need to add any seasonings! Banana pudding (not pictured) was A HIT for someone who doesn’t like bananas but likes the flavor! It has no bananas in it! Soooo good! Customer service was good! I will be back soon.

When I say this place throws down, I mean they can cook. When I say they can cook, I mean they can play a mean jazz tune. When I say they are jazzy, I mean they dress in sequin jackets and tap dance like no other. When I say they can dance, I mean they fight like Oral Roberts.

BE CAREFUL. They have severely changed their pricing policy. Where an entire dinner was a specific price, now they are charging a la carte. A baked chicken dinner with two sides used to be $12.99. Now it is $12.99 for JUST the chicken, and each side is $3.99, raising your total price to $21.00. Then, they won't give you a receipt, you have to ask for it. the food is not worth the price. This exorbitant price increase has cost them a customer as I will not return. Guess I'll be going back to Jackson's in Sylvester

UPDATE. The day after I posted this review, my nephew went to Dunbars, unaware of what happened to us. He ordered the same baked chicken dinner and was charged the standard price, no a la cart. The owner was there that day and apparently when the cats away, the mice will play. He was provided a receipt no problem, as is their custom, but on our visit we had to ask for one. Still be careful and if it doesn't sound right, get your receipt.

Update to the update. So I decided to try again. This time the owner was there and I was charged the absolute correct price. I feel bad for not visiting in so long because the food is amazing. I ordered four meals: Oxtails, Turkey Wings, Fried chicken, and baked chicken. Sides were rice, rutabaga, Mac and cheese, yams(best ever), and collards. Each box easily contained enough for two complete meals. I'm a customer again and you should be too

This is Dunbar Desserts in the Albany Mall. When I tell you guys that they make the best desserts in town please believe me. This red velvet cake was so good and moist I think you guys should give this place a try!!

The food is legit, but be prepared to possibly have to wait in line to go inside and place your order. The meals are about 15 to 17 dollars a plate, and dessert is 5 dollars, but you get enough food to feed at least 2 to 3 people, so it's worth the money

So the experience here was pretty good. I had the bbq ribs and I must say I was impressed. When we first pulled up parking was interesting as we were unsure of parking in the lot next door stated for that businesses customers only. The grill is going out front with the lovely aroma coming from it. The Dunbar brothers have a real winner here with the cabbage and collard greens. Some of the best I’ve ever eaten. They were also friendly enough to take a photo with us after getting our food. This isn’t a dine in restaurant. Order and go. Hot food assembly line deal here. The cornbread looks like a pancake but is really sweet and good. 😉Enjoy

THIS my favorite restaurant. They have the BEST BBQ AND SOUL FOOD AROUND. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS.

I love Dunbars crab dressing and his collard greens with kale. He cooks very good.

First time going to Dunbar’s. Had a taste for some soul food and this is the place to get it. It was so good and they are so friendly!! The guy that fixed our plates was kind and helpful! They also give you more than enough food for the price. Mine will be lunch and dinner for me. Y’all need to Check them out! Definitely will be going back! Oh and that banana pudding….😙chefs kiss! So good!

The customer service was EXCELLENT! We were greeted as we walked in the door. The young men working were not upset that we came in as they were getting ready to shut down for the day. They were patient as we ordered. The serving sizes were worth the prices. They were very personable and friendly. Corey, the owner, talked to me a while outside. The food was NOT salty, but seasoned. My family was very pleased!!

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food here was great and at an amazing price!!

His ribs are my favorite, if you live in Albany, GA or ever visit please do not deprive yourself. This is worth the visit. They give you nice portions, the food is great, his deserts are the bomb and customer service is excellent. He supports his local community. When thexforboys.org organization was feeding the community every weekend this place cooked all of the food. So he give back and should be patronized

My first time eating at Dunbar soul food, this is the place to eat very good food. The staff is wonderful, and I don't care about the cost, because you get your money worth and a lot more; I will be back every time I come to Albany.

This place is awesome...try something you've never had.... amazing ribs and homemade BBQ sauce

I am up here from Florida working at a job site for the last 4mos. This place is fabulous. Large portions, not expensive. Ribs, greens, mac and cheese were all on point. Some of the best ribs I have had. The Dunbar brothers are not bad to look at either :). Now if only I can figure out how to get this food delivered to Florida when I go back home next week.

Dunbar's BBQ & SoulFood restaurant is a southern down home cooking restaurant just like eating from your granny's table. There food is great & they give you your money worth then some. My mother,father & l ate off of one plate. So go get yourselves some of that good food & great hospitality. ENOUGH SAID!
