Greg Nipp's Guitar Instruction

I’m giving Greg five stars. I think beyond being a great instructor, he is just a nice guy who is knowledgeable and patient. I just had my 60th birthday and have always wanted to play guitar like my heroes. I’ve been taking lessons from Greg now for about a year and no matter how I sound, Greg will be inspiring and interested and want to show me ways to make it better.
And no, Greg didn’t pay me to say any of that 🤣

I have taken guitar lessons from Greg for 3 years now and I have gone from not really knowing anything at all about playing, to being able to play songs and sing with them now! Earlier this year Greg helped me learn a Johnny Cash song that I sang and performed at my wedding! I am very thankful to have had such a good teacher help me accomplish my goals.

Greg Nipp is the man. I took lessons from Greg for 2 years when I was 16 and had never picked up a guitar before. Greg taught me good technique, music theory, songs of my choice, improvisation, and how to practice. Gregs own passion and dedication to his craft left a lasting impression on me and inspired me to never quit. Now I am 25 and I still play guitar, sing, and write my own music. Greg is a wonderful musician, teacher, friend, and role model. I will always be thankful for having such a wonderful instructor during those crucial first years of learning to play. Greg Nipp is the man. Worth the money without a doubt! Go see him!

I took lessons from Greg up until my very last day in Chattanooga before I moved, and every second was worth it. He really is able and ready to teach you whatever you want to learn and go in any direction you want to go. If you already know a lot but want to tighten up, he can help you. If you know nothing, he can help you. If you want to skip the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star drills and learn your favorite song, he can help you, too. I've heard him go from country to metal in one sitting, and I've seen him teach a new pop song to a little girl. He teaches people of all ages and can actually be trusted as a positive influence on children (I know some parents worry that their neighborhood guitar teacher is kind of sketchy - Greg isn't sketchy). He's also very encouraging. I truly think he's the best teacher in Chattanooga and also probably the world.

I took guitar lessons from Greg during my first couple of years playing and I've never made more progress in such a small amount of time before or since. Knowledgeable and attentive and fun. It's just impossible to stump this guy.
He will help you get where you want to go on the guitar and even show you how to hang dry wall. THANKS GREGG!!!

After taking lessons with Greg for only a year I went from knowing basically nothing to having a bunch of fretboard knowledge with various scales and much more technical ability. If anyone is interested I highly recommend taking lessons with Greg.

I've been taking lessons from Greg for a few years now and I've learned so much. His 10 week plan is definitely worth it for anyone looking to get better at guitar and/or bass.

Excellent. Takes the time to tailor the lessons to what areas you need to work on or the areas that you are interested in. Great knowledge of theory and emphasizes the importance of learning the basic music theory to help with the full understanding of to play. Highly recommend.

Excellent guitar teacher!

I had 4 lessons bought for me for my birthday a couple of years ago with Greg. The first lesson, I got some homework & was told to study. The second lesson was “double booked” with a 12 year old boy and his mom so I told them I would come back another time. Did not want this kid to miss his lesson. My next time was also a “double booking” again so I never returned. Very disorganized!! I work all day, rush home to get ready to go to my lesson, I took my time to travel to you to learn and you are so disorganized that you can’t keep your appointments organized. He was not busy, as I’m booked solid, just seemed to careless to me. I will never go back!!
