Great local hardware store, great selection of fittings, nuts/bolts, washers, etc., for the local homes built in the late 40s / 50s and more. Even found hardware for kids school projects! Worth sometimes saving yourself the trip to the big box store. Customer since 2002.

Helpful and knowledgeable...I believe you can get a wide range of items here. The check out person lead me to the product I was looking for and followed up if there was anything else needed

A very well stocked and organized gem this place is. Very friendly and had everything I needed and more! It is definitely the best (Non-Commercial) Self-Owned Hardware store I've ever been to.

This is a great hardware store. I walked in for the first time today looking for a specific plumbing/appliance item. After having no luck at either Home Depot and a local plumbing supply store, I decided to try here. I am very glad I did. The man running the store was so helpful, and he put together something that ended up being perfect. I returned a few hours later for an additional project, and he was just as helpful the second time. I will keep going back. The store has just about anything a homeowner could need, and the man working today had a wealth of knowledge (something large home improvement chains, like Home Depot/Lowe's/etc, lack).

The store has everything you could ever possibly need!! I'm am amazed how much he can fit into that small store and it's well organized and he knows exactly where everything is. I go here all the time and I can't think of a single time I've gone in there and not been able to get what I need.

This store is great. It's old-school. It's local. It's a neighborhood fixture. It's got hard to find stuff in it. The owner is a good guy as most of the local residents will attest. He has answers, opinions and likes guns. No problem. I have never experienced anything but courteous behavior and satisfied customers while in his business. Thanks for keeping it local.

Now a moment to address the negative reviews.

You will notice all of the negative reviews are complaints about the owners political affiliation, or gruff nature. I lean far left, but personally I don't care who he supports or if he fakes a smile every time I walk in.

If I cared about these things I would go to Home Depot and be greeted by a saccharine smile and a teenager giving me incorrect information on how to complete my latest project.

The guy runs an excellent hardware store. If that is not enough for you I suggest you reevaluate what it is you are looking for.

I had a great experience. This place is a jewel in the Anderson area. I was in a bind and thought I would drop in and see if they could help me find a certain kind of nut and bolt. Steve was super knowledgeable and probably saved me a ton of time trying to find what I needed. I recommend this hardware store to anyone who wants in depth knowledge and great customer service. Great prices too!

True there is some political material around as others have stated but the owner is very helpful. I just visited again where he took time to explain what I needed to do in a project. When I realized I didn't have cash he let me take the material home and told me I could pay later. Very positive experience start to finish.

Friendly and much more helpful than the big box stores, they were able to answer all of my questions. I go here for all of my hardware needs. Buy local!

Don't believe the 1 star reviews since the middle of 2016. The owner put up several Trump campaign signs and this is just the usual liberal nonsense of trying to silence opinions they don't agree with. It's funny how liberals are all about free speech until someone has the audacity to disagree with them.

Best hardware store around! Sure, politics come into play sometimes but you have to have a sense of humor! It's his business and he can run it how he pleases! If you aren't a snowflake, this is the place to shop! The owner is very knowledgeable when it comes to every item he sells and projects you are working on. If you get offended by the political commentary then I recommend purchasing a hand warmer to use on your butthurt bottom. They are usually located on the front counter or to the left next to the cleaning supplies.

This is the type store that our grandparents were used to. When you walk in the door there’s someone there to point you in the right direction. I have known the owner since we were kids, he has done what thousands have failed to do in keeping a small business going in the age of big box stores. The owner is great. Small shop but amazed he has everything. Prices are on point for the convenience. He knows the houses in the neighborhood and stocks the unique items for homes built in the area.

I'm new to the area and Salem Hardware is great! No matter what project your working on chances are Salem Hardware will have what you need.

Have been in a couple of times when someone came in looking for a specific item such as a brand specific hinge for a fence that they didn't carry and the owner Steve didn't hesitate to help them find a local business who would have it.

The store stocks many of those odds and ends you can't find at the big box store. Socket head cap screws in all sizes, switches and lamp cords, bronze bushings, even fahnstock clips.... If you know hardware you will love this place!

Great store, they have bulk hardware and they have know how. Owner has a great disposition, but if you want to come in and argue politics with him, then you get what you deserve.

Great service! They did not have the exact part I needed however, they did give me some solutions to what I needed. I suggest you stop here first before going to the big hardware stores.

This is THE best hardware store in Cincinnati. They always have exactly what I need for any project and couldnt be more helpful or insightful when doing a project. Keep up the great work!

I do not work at Salem Hardware but I was in the store today when Tim Burns was there. I was talking with the customer he was referring to in effort to help out. If you ever need help, say something at the store. Why run away and complain online?
