EL LAGO MEXICAN RESTAURANT ( Branson west Mo)

Amazing Food! When you enter an authentic Hispanic Restaurant such as El Lago, Spanish Music should be playing which it was. Great atmosphere with TVs in much of the seating view. Had a Late Lunch with a friend and ordered a seafood type dish. Some of the best flavor and Value for what I got. The chips also come complimentary with an amazing homemade salsa. Defiantly will be back! Also they do have a sister store in Branson, but can not compare to the speedy service and taste of the Branson west location.

This is our newest Now ! favorite Mexican restaurant in the entire area, chips, homemade awesome appetizers. Awesome portions on the main entrées are huge. They are not stingy whatsoever and taste great, highly recommended!

The food was really good there. I admit, I was a little biased going in. Being from Houston, I was very hungry and not expecting much. My enchiladas were delicious. The michelada was superb. Expertly made. The service was really well. I'd definitely recommend this place.

We live in Topeka KS. and were in Branson, MO. celebrating our 25th anniversary. We went to El Lago Mexican restaurant on 9/16/23, a Saturday night around 5 p.m., and the service was extremely fast, curtious, and accurate. The food was excellent!! We had the white queso, guacamole, salsa, and hot fresh chips. I had the steak fajita chimichanga, and it was delicious. Full of steak and veggies and covered in white queso. My husband had a big steak burrito and a tamale. Both were good and served with rice and beans. Portion sizes were good and filling. Also, their frozen strawberry margaritas were absolutely fantastic and had a good amount of tequilla. Plus, you could take them to go, and we definitely did. If I had any criticism, it would be that the tamale wasn't what you would expect. We really enjoyed our experience, and when we come back next year, we will definitely be eating at El Lago.

We've gone to Branson for many years. Each time we go by El Lago we comment we should try it but haven't until last weekend. Boy have we been missing out! Food and service was great. Salsa and queso were awesome as were the chips. We'll definitely not pass by next time!

Everything from being seated quickly, to our server being attentive, the food large portions and tasted delicious. We started with the cheese dip and salsa. The salsa tasted very fresh and the cheese dip had a nice flavor. Definitely plan to keep this a must go place when visiting Branson. Their margaritas were great as well

Best Mexican food I have had outside of California or Arizona. This is authentic food with that super savory and flavorful taste you crave from little taco trucks down in southern arizona or California. No matter what time you order your food is always out within minutes and the customer service here is phenomenal. The chips and salsa here are addicting and every single dish we have tried has always exceeded our expectations. Every time I’m in Branson I stop here and get some food and a large bag of chips and salsa because it’s just that good of food!! Highly highly recommend if you’re looking for a great Mexican restaurant with authentic food!!

I've never had a bad meal here! The staff is very fast. Salsa/chips delicious and included. Amazing, huge menu. GREAT lunch specials. Check the daily specials also; they're super tasty and a great deal!
Tons of seats, great for groups too.

The only drawback is the very cramped bathroom, which doesn't effect my enjoyment of a great meal!

Food is always excellent. Last time, I had the fish tacos. Service is quick and if you ask, they will bring you hotter salsa for the chips. Always a good experience!!

We stopped here on our way into Branson and were very impressed with the level of and speed of service, quality of food and reasonable prices. I had Carne Asada and my daughter had tamales (see pictures). We will definitely visit again!

Food was great. Service outstanding. The server could speak faster than my ears could listen, but somehow he managed to understand everything I said and my order came out perfect. Highly recommended. We'll be bank when we return to Branson West.

I give the margaritas 5 + food 3 as well as the food. And staff. They used to be very bland but have most definitely improved. Lots of new menu items including what I had which was three many chimichangas

I cannot say enough about how delicious, fast, and impressive this place is. They were super busy and we had a table in no time. The prices are great, the food is delicious, authentic (not tex-mex), and you get plenty of it. As soon as you sit down you can't help but be impressed by how hard everyone is working and how good they are at their jobs. I had a margarita off their large drink menu and it was great (the tequila was all there for sure!) They have 99 cent tacos on Tuesday and they are not dinky tacos, they are full size soft or crunchy tacos. My wife ordered 3 and could only eat 2. The fried ice cream is also a great way to wrap up your meal. 10/10 do recommend. I can't see us coming back to Branson and not stopping here.

The food and service were amazing! We ate the beef chimichanga from the ala-cart section of the menu. It was the perfect portion size and seasoned great.

The atmosphere was okay. We were seated at the back of the restaurant on the left side and it was quite loud.

Otherwise, no complaints. We hope to eat there again the next time we are in Branson.

Great food and service. Some items are available in half order size which I really appreciated. Our food was delivered very quickly. I had enchiladas smothered with cheese sauce with lettuce and tomatoes added. So good!

Quick trip to Branson and just came upon this restaurant. We literally order and within 10 minutes our food was sitting on the table. Hot and ready to eat. It has been along while that I have been to a restaurant that the food comes out quick. Keep up the good service👍

Having just moved to the area from KC, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find many genuinely authentic Mexican restaurants- and maybe I won't be able to... but at least I found one.

El Lago is legit. Seriously great food that's authentic, beautifully prepared, and priced perfectly (the pretentious, overblown prices found in American-ized Mexican restaurants are nowhere to be found).

First test of any Mexican restaurant worth their margarita salt - the chips and salsa -- light chips, perfectly done and a really solid table salsa. Ask for the hot and mix with the og for the best possible experience.

I had the Yucatan burrito entree on my first visit and it made me weak in the knees. It may seem an odd pairing - a burrito with a side of grilled onions? But once you combine the sweetish, creamy burrito sauce, the savory burrito innards, and one of those carmelized onions -- holy mother of pearl, get ready to transcend your banal, flavorless existence outside El Lago's four walls forever. It may well ruin you for anything else in this life. One bite and an unbeliever will see the light and leave speaking in tongues.

The staff was polite, fast, and even while running a million miles a minute to keep up with a packed dining room, attentive and accurate. Solid staff and amazing food. What more could you people possibly want out of a hole-in-the-wall paradise of culinary delights?

Daily specials and cheap, strong margaritas? Well wouldn't you know it, they've got those too. What's the catch? Once I find it I'll let you know, but for now El Lago towers so far above any other offerings in the area that they could all turn out to be homocidal maniacs and I'd still convince people to separate the artists from the art and support them without hesitation.

Oh! I guess I should mention - I really enjoyed my visit and I think El Lago makes good food. Five stars

Amazing food! Came in on a drink special night. Rice and beans are soo good! My kids ate great too! Got our margaritas to go too! We are out of Towners but highly recommend and will be back if we get the chance!
