We had an amazing night at this campground! Brought our pups and slept next to the lake. Facilities are well kept and maintained, there was some vehicle noise from a nearby road but really not bad later at night going to bed. Plenty of room for more than one vehicle or if you want group camping. There was a park ranger that would patrol every once in a while which gave us some peace of mind there was someone keeping an eye out. The grounds were well kept and they have a boat ramp that we may bring our boat next time to spend some time on the lake. Their website also offered a map of the grounds just in case you want something to look at online before you go to help pick out a spot. Overall we will be back!

We came here right before the heat wave, super cool summer night camping without mosquitos! We picked a walk in waterfront lot, it’s perfect and pretty private with some trees in between. Each water front lot has a small “private beach” which is so convenient for kayak launching! We saw lots of herons and even osprey, beautiful lake! Lots of space to explore!

Our family went on our very first camping trip together abs we all absolutely loved it. The park grounds were very clean and had some beautiful views as well. Lots of fun things for the kids to do, including a small swimming beach. The campsite was pretty basic but still all you need, a fire pit, gravel for the tent and a picnic table, with lots of space. Bathrooms and showers were very clean too, although we wished there were showers in the restrooms near the swimming area. We will definitely be back next year and plan to camp every summer for years to come.

Wonderful park for camping. Entire park is clean and so are the restrooms. Park has lake access, so if your up for a swim go for it. Cant wait to come again after the closure in January for upgrades. Keep up the great work NC Park staff.

Pretty campground with beautiful, shady campsites. Nice and quiet with a nice beach and a hiking trail. Bathrooms/showers were cleaned multiple times a day.

We came down from Ohio to help our adult daughter as she was recovering from brain cancer surgery. The Campground superintendent allowed us to extend our stay due to the circumstances. We were here for 30 days.During this time my mom passed away so we left the trailer and drove back to Ohio for 3 days. The rangers did a drive by to check our trailer while we were gone. They have gone above and beyond what I could have expected.
The campground itself is clean, we were in loop 3. Sites are very large, gravalled, which is awesome if it rains, and secluded. We had a nice firepit and picnic table. A short chain was in the ground, we guessed to tie a dog out. There was also a sturdy Shepherds hook to hang a light. Restrooms were very clean and the showers were hot! Price was 30.00 a day, water and electricity. We did get a senior discount as well.
I would love to come back here again for pleasure.

Great location, clean campsites. We stayed 2 nights in site 131. The site was a little oddly set up for a larger tent being that the table couldn't be moved and the fire pit was centered on the site but we made it work. We were fairly close to the restrooms but not too close. Many sites along the water. Very shade covered area. Bathhouse had 4 showers that were kept clean. We drove to the boat landing and swimming area, they seemed very clean and well cared for. Drove through the other loops in the campground which also seemed nice.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🏖 PERFECT SMALL SPOT FOR FAMILY
👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼Holly Point is the perfect small & quiet family campgrounds! I began going to Holly Point in 2006 & have loved it since day 1! It is MUCH nicer & cleaner than the other options around. I feel safe there as well. I like how the bathrooms are conveniently close by to all the camping grounds, especially if you have small kids. The electric sites are super close to the water, so you don’t have to drive to the water area.
It offers really clean sites, both with or without power hookup, with grills & large sites to have room for playing or other setups you may bring. It is perfect for my little ones, as we have camped there MANY times! We have used pop-up campers on electric sites as well as tents & we have NEVER been disappointed. There are also sites further away from the water that are more isolated, if you just want to pop up a tent or use a vehicle to sleep in. These are very private sites that are non-electric areas closer to the entry. I think these sites may be more likable for those that want privacy or may not have kids on board.
Even day trips are nice as well, as it’s just a few bucks per car. My children love it there! We’ve celebrated birthdays & more. It’s quiet, without a ton of noise & partying that you may find at other locations that tend to be overcrowded.
There has only been 1 time that I know of in the past 15 years (in my experience) that the water was not safe to be in, as they do test the waters for safety which I really appreciate. In comparison to the other Falls Lake sites it has always been cleaner. The sandy area where you go into the water does not feel slimy at the bottom like other locations.
You will feel safer allowing the kids to play at the waters edge or even riding their bikes around the area. *** Entry/Exit gates close at 9:00pm, but there is a small parking area outside the gate in the case you need to leave for something. So my companion would park a car outside the gate in case they needed to leave for work or go grab food or necessities for the children while the gates were still locked. Do this at your own risk, as you can not see the car from your camp site. There is NO getting out once the gates are closed... only downfall, but it also keeps others from coming in when they’re not supposed to. So I guess it’s a fair trade!
(I’ve not been in a couple years now, but I’m definitely ready to go back with my other little ones & keep up on a family tradition that is much loved)

So many great comments, hints and suggestions in previous reviews, but just add how helpful the park staff were in booking our recent stay. Our campsite and stay were perfect!

First time we had seen double sites, and the handicapped sites were well thought out. Campground was clean and well maintained.

A great intro. to NC Parks!🤠

Always love this park and this loop. There is a good amount of space between campers, the sites and bathrooms are always clean, and everyone tends to be happy and courteous. We had no interaction with staff, but our friends did and their experience was positive and professional.

Very nice campground. The sites are large and very wooded so there is lots of shade.
There are a couple swimming beaches for the kids, which have life preservers. You can get sites that are against the lake too - some of those you could let the kids swim from, some are okay to launch kayaks or canoes from, and some have a steep bank so you will need to do some research for what fits your needs.
It does have a boat ramp on the other side of the park, so you can of course partake in that activity too.
Lots of hiking - we didn't get any ticks this last trip (August), but the mosquitoes were pretty aggressive.

Excellent campground! Huge private sites with electric and water. Great if you boat, kayak (like us), paddle board, or just enjoy the outdoors in a great low cost setting.

Just one loop open. Great spots, well maintained and spaced far apart on this loop. This is our 2nd year at Hollypoint prior to Christmas. Site 103. Can see water. Be prepared for a bit of road noise and airport flyway. Also some sort of helicopter training treetop along lakeshore was interesting. Stayed 14 nights.
