Sam Jones BBQ

First timer, but will be a regular from now on!
My daughter highly recommended this place for our carry-out Sunday Dinner , and when I tell you...Sam Jones is a must try...just do it and thank me later!
We ordered the smokehouse baked potatoes, one with the pork and the other with chicken...plus a side of Greens.
Fantastic flavors popping everywhere!

Sam Jones is always delicious. The quality of food is great. It is expensive but considering how much time, effort and technique it takes to smoke/cook meat and how good it is I'm willing to pay. I got the turkey sandwich. It has alot of meat so it is well worth the price. My husband loves the smoked wings. The smokehouse baked potatoes are huge and filling.

In Greenville, there are eastern BBQ options. B's, Parkers, Sam Jones....... B's been on magazine and TV and very famous. Sam Jones is more comfortable in their seating and have more varieties.
Get their samplers. so you can try bits of everything. I am not a BBQ experts but everything is good. If you think some items are lacking, there are multiple bbq sauce option to increase the flavors.

This was the 1st time trying Sam Jones and I will make sure it’s not my last. There food was delicious. I decided to get the barque plate with my choice of corn bread which was sweet potato. Two sides sweet cole slaw and Mac and cheese. The mac and cheese wasn’t real hot more like room temperature . I really cldnt understand that bec it opens at 11 and we were there at 11:15 , right after church. But over all it was still good. The food was not over season and there was vinegar and barbecue sauce on the table if you needed to add it to your plate. My husband had the 3 meat trio , turkey, half chicken and barbecue…OMG !!! That turkey that Turkey that turkey was the best. It was tender, tasty and tantalizing… I wanted to take my husband’s plate.. this place is so underrated. Now on the bad side. Y’all please do something with your floors. I almost fell twice . Like I literally almost fell. The floor was greasy. It’s as if oil was spilled on it and they just cleaned it with cold soap water.. it was horrible. So please do something with your floors before you all have a law suit.

Very good place to get whole hog BBQ, grilled chicken, and turkey cooked over wood. Meat has just the right amount of smokey flavor and not overpowering. Very good sides and selection of breads to go with your meal. I liked the sweet potato muffin.

This was my third time eating here, and I was finally able to take a picture of my food before I ate all of it 😂.
I always get the 1lb rib platter. The ribs are smoked to perfection.The collards and black-eyed peas are delicious! My only complaint is the cornbread. It is very dry and lacks flavor overall. I opt for the sweet potato muffin, which tastes much better.

Great food the Ribs was amazing. I also ate the pork barbecue and some pork skins. They were always amazing. Definitely recommend because I'm definitely going back.

This is my favorite restaurant in Eastern NC! I drive an hour just to eat here. The food is awesome (I always get the pulled chicken sandwich with fries, collard greens and a sweet tea-which is amazing) they have a really good sauce and the vinegar sauce goes great on fries. They also have beer on tap and bottles. The employees are always nice and the place is so clean. The atmosphere is awesome inside (lights aren’t bright and it’s got well spaced out seating) and there’s also outdoor seating. I’ve never been disappointed coming here. Next time I’m in Raleigh I will try out the Raleigh location

Our first visit here was for take out and it was a definite winner. Aside from being a bit cold (probably our fault for doing take out), the chopped pork was the best I've had in NC - so tender, moist and flavorful. Sides (slaw and mac & cheese) were decent and the sweet potato roll was tasty. The banana pudding was the finishing touch - and a fine one it was. Sam's is definitely bookmarked for our next visit to the area.

First timer here. Heard Sam Jones BBQ is the best BBQ in town and they didn’t let us down. Excellent BBQ and we loved it. We had to pick up the food due to Covid and we were able to pick up within 15 minutes after submitting our order to their website. Chicken and Ribs were amazing and their sides.. wow. We ordered slaw, baked beans, potato salad, and mac & cheese and every side was so good. We loved mac & cheese the most. 5 star food & experience and we will be back for good BBQ.

By far the best BBQ I've had. Price is great especially for the amount of food you get. Service is super friendly. They come around often to check on you. Food came out fast and fresh. Nick was especially awesome. I never thought to order the turkey at a BBQ place, but I definitely will next time.

Sam Jones sets the bar for good whole hog bbq, and that bar is high. Never had a bad meal here (and we eat here a lot). Bbq and smoked turkey are very good. Ribs are sometimes hit or miss, not bad, just better than other times occasionally. I will say I am not a fan of the corn bread, so I usually get the toast. Service is good, food comes out fairly quick. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This BBQ was outstanding! I was here on business and this was a very welcome stop. Everything was delicious, the wait staff was very friendly & attentive, and it had great atmosphere. If you are ever around the Greenville, NC area this is a must stop.

Sam Jones catered my daughter's wedding last weekend! They did a phenomenal job! Everyone raved over how delicious the barbeque, mac and cheese, baked beans, chicken and smoked turkey tasted! The servers were very nice and setup went very smoothly! Highly recommend for any special event!!

Fantastic as always. We had a large group unannounced, and they were very accomidating. They were busy when we arrived, but that didn't slow them down any. Hat's off to the Winterville crew! Outstanding!!!

I've eaten a lot of NC restaurant BBQ and this ranks up with the best. Even my wife who is not much of a meat eater and a NC transplant was impressed with it. I really loved the sauce. But the cornbread was great! I know it's closer to a cracker than traditional southern cornbread, but it had a great taste. A nice break from the usual. The mac and cheese was just ok, but I came for the BBQ which did not disappoint.

Awesome food and quick service. We ate outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and delicious food. The ribs were out of this world!

This was our first time at Sam Jones BBQ but it won't be the last. Great atmosphere, delicious food and wonderful service. Most definitely order the skins and pimento cheese plate. It was GREAT!
