Our server was most apologetic if it took her more than 2 seconds to bring us anything. She was lovely. I accidentally got served a baked potato when I ordered a sweet potato, so she said I could have both! Result! The sweet potato took mere moments to be brought to me. The steak was amazing (just the smallest cut was too much) and the extra shrimp were grilled to
Absolute perfection ! Driving away … I wish I’d had a dessert to go!

Jaeci was one of the best servers I've ever had, she was so attentive and informative and treated us like fsmily. My friend had been there but I never had. We both got the senior plates. $8.00 and she chose sliced brisket and I got the chopped. Not only was is great BBQ but everything we got was. Loved the Jalapeño cornbread and the beans, my friend loved the new potatos and the peach cobbler. The atmosphere was awesome. You have the choice of sitting on the side where you are served or the side that's more cafeteria style. Can't wait until the next time I'm in Abilene.

The food was delicious and plentiful. We had to take most of it home. The ambiance was nice and the waitress very efficient and friendly.

Although this is a BBQ place but they really have one of the best ribeye steak in Texas. The steak is flavorful and juicy without putting any sauces. You order the steak by inches instead of ounces here. Really recommend order the 2'' steak and share it with another person. My friends order 3/4' and 1 1/3' steak but mine got the perfect medium. The fried onion and okra is also good. Really recommend this place if you come by abilene.

Great BBQ and chicken fried steak! We arrived close to closing, so they were out of some things. I consider that a good sign that their food is fresh and made to order, not something they can pull out of the freezer and warm up. They dumped the gravy before I finished my CFS, but the flavor was good enough to eat without it.

Great place to eat, my steak was awesome! My wife had the brisket and turkey, she said it was very good. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. The young lady that took our order was very nice and checked on us and kept the tea glasses full.
I will be back again!

Dude this place was awesome! Joe graced me with his sweet touch, and I am grateful for every item of food that was put in front of me. Brooke delivered these gifts from god with the footwork of a veteran ballerina. I had so much fun in the Joe Allens and so did our party. 10/10 for atmosphere, food was so delicious! Chef Mike did well.

We stopped in to grab quick bite to eat for lunch at Joe Allen’s as we were passing through town. The waitresses were all very personable and attentive. We ordered a hamburger along with cornbread and beans, and didn’t wait long at all for it to be brought to our table.

We thoroughly enjoined the great tasting hamburger, and the beans and cornbread was equally good as well. Great food, great service, at a very reasonable price.

My first visit was after he catered a function for the 96sps on Dyess back in 1984/5. I have moved on since then, I've lived in quite a number of places around the world. Eaten foods around the world but I still long for Joe Allens.

I am always on the lookout for good Southern home cooking. We stopped here at a coworker's suggestion on a business trip, and I'm SO glad we did! It was a weekday at 4pm, and within minutes of being seated, the place filled up. It's always a good sign when locals are trying to beat the dinner rush - that usually means the food brings in a crowd.
I'm not a huge fan of BBQ, but the other selections available were varied and all looked delicious. I went with the hamburger steak with new potatoes and cabbage, and it was one of the best meals I've eaten in the last few years - absolutely impeccable!
The homemade breads and jalapeño cornbread were also AMAZING.
I've just found my go-to dinner spot when work takes me anywhere near Abilene! Spectacular food with friendly and efficient service.

I have eaten here for years whenever I'm in the area. Their food is really good, and I love their BBQ, homemade bread and jalapeño cornbread. You know it's got to be good to stay in business 43 years!

Corn bread and coleslaw is definitely worth adding to your Thanksgiving menu. Great flavors, fresh texture and great prices!!! They do it best...so I don't have too!😁

This is my favorite place to eat steak. The only thing that would make this place better would be to have a grilled veggie option. I would like to see theim add real bacon bits and maybe bell peppers or cucumbers to the salad.

I was traveling from Odessa to Fort Worth and had a taste for bbq. I googled best bbq in Abilene and Joe Allen’s came up.

I was not disappointed! Hands down some of the absolute best bbq I have ever had. The brisket was moist and delicious with a very tasty sauce to dip in!

Trust me when I say these folks know what they are doing. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Considering Joe Allen’s is a short jog off I20 I plan to make this a regular stop…

We love to go to Joe Allens! The calf fries are great! Authentic! The best homemade ranch! Softest bread and yummy 3/4 inch ribeye

A very large portion of food for what you pay here. I tried the bbq combo plate with brisket, sausage, ribs, potato salad, and cole slaw. They give you corn bread and slices of fresh bread before the meal, too. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, as well. They were pretty busy, but I still didn't have to wait long for anything. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Old cowboy Texas. The food is all about cowboy eating. Unfortunately the jalapeno sausage had been previously sliced and had time to dry out. Other than that, it was pretty much pure tex-acana.

Decided to try out this out of my way BBQ restaurant, man was that the best decision ever! I got the smallest ribeye and came out of there so stuffed! Maybe one day I'll come and try the 2 inch ribeye! One of the best steaks I've ever had. I will be coming here anytime I'm in Abilene! The cornbread and bread were both fantastic!!! Great food and a great value for your $.
