Wow, what a trip into the past. A real hardware store. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful for your home project or problem. Their door handle on the front door is a hammer!

I go here often. It has a small hardware store feel because the employees are knowledgeable and helpful, but is pretty large for a small hardware store once you realize there are two upstairs sections.

What a jewel! Great staff, good equipment. Won’t have everything you could need given the size of the store, but meets the bulk of your repair needs

Went in looking for a specific barrel nut for my refrigerator door handle. I was not optimistic, but figured it was worth a try before driving half an hour to an appliance repair place that was recommended by the dealer. I walk in with my young son and am immediately greeted by a friendly staff member asking if he can be of assistance. Moments later we’re in the appropriate aisle and he’s meticulously going through the bins to find the correct match. It took a couple of minutes and a lot of trial and error, but he found it (“Ah! This is it. But the bad news is it will cost you 49 cents.”). If it was just me looking, I’m pretty sure I’d have given up, but this man knew what he was doing and was sincerely interested in helping me find what I needed. I’ve often taken my son along with me to big box stores, and this was an opportunity to point out to him the value the good customer service that you get when shopping at a local business. Since that day, I’ve made a point of going to Schauer’s regularly.

A very good selection of tools and items to make your life easier if not at home at your job or work place.

Home town store great service all the time

Very friendly service. People always asking how's they can help! I'm also amazed by how many things I can find here that I would otherwise need to drive to Home Depot for. Of course stock is semi limited but a great selection that updates with the seasons.

I walked down the spacious center aisle to be greeted by a smiling face who was eager to assist me. Not only did he have the product I was looking for, but we shared a few laughs while I was there.
Street parking metered but inexpensive.
I can highly recommend.

Best place for essentials without having to walk miles and miles. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Comparable prices to big box hardware stores, and less for many items. Join the Small Business community and shop local! The store is open - wear a mask and a smile!

Great old-fashioned hardware store with plenty of help standing around to offer any kind of help you might need.

I love this place because you get that personal touch and knowledge you don't get from the big box stores. I have a hard time finding anyone in those big box stores who even know where anything is. And if have a question about something you get a reply of, it's not my department. Schauer's personnel will answer any question, plus they would never sell you something you don't need, or won't work for what you intend it to do. They have integrity, something that it's rare today. For my hardware needs, I always go here first.

Helpful staff, locally owned. Selection is a bit limited compared to a home depot or Lowes but well worth it. I always check here first.

Schauer's is a hardware store. They is not a home center. They sell the same things my father bought at the hardware store.
