This is the best Italian Deli market I've ever been in. You can get fresh frozen bread dough, fresh ravioli, amazing cheeses and cured meats. The staff are very friendly and make it a point to know their customers. I stop by everytime I'm in town.

My favorite is their Italian sausage, it's a hit at any cookout 😋 make sure you get a Guido sandwich fresh from the Deli counter to eat on your way home 🤤

1st time their bought some dried sausage delicious. Seemed family owned and run very friendly loved the atmosphere even more than the sausage I'm 61 simply put you just don't see that family owned and run atmosphere anymore 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

This is my favorite place for Italian food. I always stock up on pizza dough and all the fixings for great homemade pizza. The cheese tortellini reminds me of my Grandmother's.
And the Guido!! Enough for a family to eat

I haven't been here for probably 10 years or more. Honestly, I forgot it existed, because I started going to another Italian store in Tinley Park; however, I was amazed by how much variety they have here, in such a small space. They have the good, real ricotta cheese there, along with a variety of Italian olives and other cheeses I've never seen before. I will definitely be going back there. This is a humble old-school local grocery store that I would like to support.

The best pizza cheese ever. Made in Joliet, Chellini scamorza is very good. Also, the best Italian sausage.

Whenever I am traveling north from my home in Central Illinois, I hope to make a pilgrimage to the blessed confines of D & D Foods. Even just the sight of the building off south Halsted brings joy as it takes one back to an older era when family owned businesses thrived and wove neighborhoods together. Upon entering inside, the wondrous aroma of salami is evident and sweetly welcoming. The whole north wall is covered with family photos from the decades and underscores the importance of this family owned business by the Damiani family.

They offer a fine array of pastas, red sauces, cheeses and best of all, the iconic "Marconi" Italian bread which offers the pleasure of soft insides and a chewy crust that offers one the kind of resistance that is hoped for and delighted in. The deli is a real gem with all sorts of meats and cheeses to enjoy. You've gotta buy this amazing legendary sandwich known as "The Guido" that sees thick piles of Italian sliced meats and cheeses set inside a Marconi loaf.

Upon checking out, you might even be blessed to have Mrs. Damiani stacking your items in a bag with a kindly smile. Heavens, life is good because of places like the D & D Italian grocery store reminding us of what is best about our country and how family stories flavor our reality. This place is great for lunch meat bread and everything Italian so good! If you’re in the area stop and get a sandwich you won’t be disappointed!

What a nice store, the selections of pastas, olive oil, salami, bread...well, everything was great. Went back and found out they have delicious sandwiches to go.

My brother in law turned me on to this little Italian grocery in the Heights. Reminds me of the little Polish grocery where I grew up. You have to try the Guido sandwich. So good.

D&D's my go to for fresh homemade sausage. Always polite friendly service. It was still around lunch so I ordered the Guido Special. Oh my goodness yummy sandwich made on Marconi bread. Also noticed a table of D&D's T-shirts for sale purchased one of those too. Don't miss out visit them today you won't be sorry. So yummy

This is the best Italian grocery store in the world. The atmosphere is amazing and the entire family is a wonderful dynamic group of people. If you want real authentic Italian dishes, you have to shop at D & D on Halsted in Chicago Heights.
Your spaghetti and lasagna will never be the same. I love this place and you will to.

Awesome spot. I'm third generation and grew up with authentic Italian cooking. Its difficult to find the right stuff that Grandma uses but D&D always has it! Plus delicious meats and cheeses, a lot from Italy. Guido Special is my go to sub.

I was in town on business and reached out to arrange getting some sausage to take home. I reached out and got Greg Damiani one of the family members. Greg froze 10 lbs of sausage for me, drove 2 hrs to deliver to me and took me to the airport to boot. Please do business with these folks. Greg is a true gentleman and first meeting you will have a friend for life. Best experience ever!!
