Hilton Garden Inn Lake Forest Mettawa

My sisters and I stayed for 3 nights and found the staff incredibly nice, helpful, and professional. We didn't reserve the room in the best way, and the General Manager helped us correct it. He went above and beyond! The rooms were nice and the extra amenities looked great. I wasn't disciplined enough to use the exercise room, but they had the equipment for me to do so. We plan to stay again!

What went well:

From check in to check out “Kurtina/Katrina” the lovely front desk member delivered exceptional customer service from accepting packages and providing notice to greeting me upon return with a smile.

- The entire hotels feels fresh, and modern and has plenty of amenities.

Connor from Corporate Sales and the hotel staff on the premises were fantastic. Greg at the front desk was so friendly and the housekeeping staff were phenomenal. I appreciate everyone who made our experience so positive. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for our wedding week and weekend. Connor upgraded us to the large suite at a discounted rate which was so kind. The room was cozy and super clean. The bathroom was huge which was amazing with a separate big tub from the large shower. The vast majority of our guests stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn as well and had only positive things to say. We really appreciate everyone that works at the HGI in Lake Forest/Mettawa because you have a great operation!

Outstanding hotel in all respects. The food and beverage staff were particularly nice and very prompt. I'll stay here again in the future.

Customer service from the entire team was the best hospitality of any hotel I've stayed at. Rooms were spotlessly clean. AC worked well! (it was a high of 92 degrees & humid) Breakfast can be added when you book the room and it was worth it. Location was close to the highway. The pool was a solid amenity especially early in the morning. I would absolutely stay here again. Thank you everyone for literally being my shelter from the storm.

This location is the best Hilton Garden Inn I’ve ever stayed in. The rooms are spacious and having two two sinks in the bathroom is always appreciated.

I read the reviews before I booked this place and I’d first like to address two of the complaints from earlier reviews. One was that the highway was noisy. Yes it is, they typically are. I knew that when I booked it because I LOOKED at the MAP on my phone. If you’re traveling around here for business, there are no other hotels that aren’t close to the highway. So drive 20 minutes to another hotel or download a free app on your phone that has white noise. Common sense solves a lot of problems. The other complaint was about a wedding?! Seriously, this hotel is in what I would describe as an office park. They kill it with the corporate business patrons and do a phenomenal job. Hotels have certain specialty. Refer back to my common sense statement.
Anyway, I had a lovely experience here. Check in was smooth, food was actually good for a hotel and everyone went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant.
HUGE shout out to the cleaning and maintenance staff. By far one of the cleanest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. And the property is beautiful. Love the day lily’s in the courtyard. 10/10 would stay here again.

The customer service was amazing from start to finish!! From check-in, Greg and Hunter were friendly and so welcoming. We checked in late so we decided to have dinner and drinks at the lobby restaurant. Kim was our bartender and server and she was top-notch! Drinks were great and dinner was delicious! The manager Chrizel even stopped by our table to greet and welcome us. The next morning, we went down for breakfast and Nikki was our server. She was so sweet, pleasant, and charming. Breakfast was again delicious!

As far as aesthetics, the hotel is lovely. Clean and well kept. I will definitely be staying here again!

I want to start by celebrating and acknowledging two specific staff members...Carolina and Nikki! We just stayed here this past weekend as my son was graduating from US Navy boot camp. We had THE BEST service at the bar and restaurant by Carolina...she had such a nice attitude, very helpful, was very efficient...even when she had a HUGE table to wait on. She made my vodka/cran/pineapple juice to perfection too! She was such a ray of sunshine!!! Also, Nikki....she went above and beyond! She waited on us for breakfast and was so helpful, kind and simply perfect! But she saw my family and I outside taking photos of/with my son and she came over and offered to take a group, family photo. Gah!!!! It melted my heart! Everyone here was just amazing and so professional! The rooms were clean, the lobby has great spaces for meeting up and hanging with large groups and the location is so convenient. If I ever make it back to this area, I would DEFINITELY stay here again!!! Y'all made us feel right at home! Thank you!!!!

Were here for a wedding and this was a great location for a wonderful stay. It was quiet, clean and Staff were friendly. Will definitely come back.

I will stay here every time! Access to train into Chicago was an easy, short Uber/Lyft. The hotel is super clean. Great bed for a long time stay. The area is clean, safe, and pretty. Lots of trees. The staff was great. I stayed for 9 day's. Absolutely one of my top 3 hotel's and location. I travel a lot for work.

Absolutely the best, all inclusive place to stay in Lake Forest that will not break the bank. Pool, workout facility and spacious, modern, clean rooms for the win.

We came here for our grandsons bootcamp graduation. The hotel is clean, comfortable, easy access to the base as well as many restaurants in the area. Also, we felt safe here. I would stay again.

I always stay at Hilton properties and found this one to be representative of the brand. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and a welcome respite from a very long road trip.

The area is lovely! The staff is friendly and helpful!!! The food is good at the restaurant and the best desserts!

The accommodations here are always fantastic. The staff is amazingly warm and helpful. The ability to check in using the app, choose a room and have a digital key via smartphone makes the process seamless and smooth.

This is by far the BEST Hilton property we have visited. I worked in front office hospitality for 3 years and we lodge in hotels for my husbands work often so I am usually very picky…honestly I haven’t found a single thing to critique about this property!
Niki and Leo from breakfast are so delightful. My two year old daughter especially loves the extra attention “Miss Niki” shows her in delivering her breakfast with love. Niki also is so friendly to every guest that comes down. I never see anyone leave with a frown. She has a super power of de-escalating grumpy guests.
Israel’s breakfast is on point, he makes everything fresh and as you order so everything turns out perfect every time.
Everyone from the front office has also been so helpful with anything we need help with. Greg has been super helpful to create an efficient check-in and helps us with securing a parking spot to charge our car.
Cleaning staff has been on top of everything, they keep all common areas so clean and fresh. I was super impressed to see that when they mop the floors, they have a second person come by to dry so no slippery floor!
Great job to the hiring management for staffing this hotel. Seriously, this property should be used as an example to other properties that are opening.

The staff was absolutely above and beyond amazing. Their kindness and hospitality really made a difference. Everyone is fantastic! Specially the front desk clerk at check in, and the woman running the Continental breakfast.

This hotel was immaculate my room was clean and the sheets were also clean and smelling fresh. The bathroom had a nice walk in shower with a glass door and the shower was nice and clean. The front lobby entrance looked so polished, sophisticated, and there was a pool and a gym and the staff were kind and polite.
There also was a $50 reservation fees, but I believe it's worth it as well as the price.
