I recently had stent placement at u of m west 2122 health drive grand rapids. Am very pleased with everyone, they were kind explained everything and genially cared about their patients. The review from one person unhappy about care whose boyfriend got is appalling. Calling u of m staff rude and uncaring and this country rotten was unwarranted and I always say if you don't like this country get out.

Care:
I want to thank the entire staff specifically the surgeons team and every single nurse and aid in the Progressive Care Unit. Namely Anna who was beyond amazing. Her bedside manner is second to none and I can not say enough about her. I hope this post reaches the appropriate people and is shared with them as its impossible for me to thank everyone, and they deserve the recognition . you made my girlfriends surgery and recovery as smooth and simple as possible. She herself works in the medical field as a CNA/PCT and was blown away at how well you guys do your job going above and beyond.

Food:
How can you go wrong with Subway and a Cafe in your hospital enough said!

Atmosphere:

This is one of the cleanest and most organized well kept facilities I have ever seen. This truly is a place of healing and its quiet relaxing and comfortable. They offer guest lounges for those waiting there with their loved ones, free coffee and if you need anything you just have to ask, Keep up the amazing work Metro!

Everytime I'm here (I have gastro diseases) they take care of me very well.

I had to procedures with Dr Riley on 5-21-21 and it was a very good experience. I really like Dr Riley and his positive and informative manner. The staff was excellent. Very positive experience

The staff are always willing to help you with questions and finding where you need to go.

Employees didnt seem to wanna listen to the patient. So i ended up repeating everything n i wtayed two days n they wldnt let me shower not impressed 🤯🤯

If someone asks you for a blanket in the ER waiting room, because they have a bladder infection and are shaking intensely from extreme chills so much that they have to moan, stand up and try to rub their whole body in front of all the other patients, just give them the blanket. Don't make them beg for it because of some stupid policy that everyone will want one, like we are in kindergarten. Hospitals are where you are treating sick people. Not everyone has the same needs or the same wants. We are not there to have hospital staff make us suffer more. Do we now live in a 3rd World Country where we can't afford to even give a patient a thin blanket? I thought the University of Michigan, my alma mater, was better than that. Isn't healing people your goal?

I just had surgery here and the nurses where all so nice! The problem is that they where so short staffed that the care was lacking. You could tell they really did care they just didn't have time to treat you the way you would hope.

Most unprofessional health care building I have EVER stepped into. If I could give a 0 star, I definitely would. My grandmas surgery ran 3 hours behind schedule which is understandable. BUT, she has two nurses in her room that were visible annoyed while helping and sat there and trash talked another nurse right in front of us. The nurse station was right outside of her room and the nurses there were talking about a patient and using their name and not saying anything very nice about that patient. I had to ask 3 times to be shown where the rest room was. Then after they took my grandma back for surgery, they completely forgot about me in her room to bring me back to the waiting room. The anesthesiologist and doctors finally came in and were talking so fast that me or my grandma could barely keep up with what they were saying. Very concerning letting her go back for surgery after the service we’ve receive. Save your money and use a hospital different than this one!

Terrible doctors who hold you hostage so they can keep squeezing every penny out if you. Had to ask 5 separate times to get food despite being a type 1 diabetic. Then don't get my insulin for 3 hrs while I had high blood sugar. Multiple instances of things not being noted in my chart and took me verbally telling them things have already been done. This hospital has going tremendously down hill. Do not go to this hospital, drive a little longer to go anywhere diffrent. They threaten that if I leave my insurance won't cover anything.

Very bad place if you are trying to get life saving surgery. Staff is very rude & unprofessional. Take the word professional building down & replace it with the truth, unprofessional building. Boyfriend to have life saving surgery but because doctor is afraid because boyfriend has PTSD from serving his rotten country he refuses to save his life. Place has tanked very badly, poor treatment, & if investigated malpractice. If u value your health & life DO NOT GO HERE They will throw u under the bus & let u die. Place is a meat market with a crowded morge fun of patients who could have been saved if only given professional treatment. Nurse here said, "this is not a hospital. It's a business. This place cares more about the money they bring in than patient care." If u have serious health problems & want to live & not die DO NOT COME HERE. I'm sure they can find room in their morge. You are not a human being but u are a piece of meat. Trust no one at this meat market!!!! Hopefully someday their so called doctors will need emergency medical attention & can't get it. Then they will know what they put their patients through. This place is a horror show. My boyfriend is slowly dying because of this place. This is what he gets for serving this rotten country.

The doctor that performed my wife's surgery was really nice and help us remain calm with is large amount of confidence in what he was doing. How ever the over night stay was horrible. Not sure if the medical staff is short handed or what but it felt like we were not takin care of in a timely manner. Hopefully they can get this corrected because that is the only thing that made this experience unpleasant.

This is the worst hospital I've ever been to. My grandfather has been in awful pain for months and they are doing nothing except drugging him out of his mind. They have moved his surgery over and over because they think there is something else. By the way there was nothing else and they are just letting him suffer.
He didn't go to the bathroom for 17 days and they did nothing for him. He has has kidney infection and so much more. This place is 0/10

I was scheduled for a sleep study in which I explicitly asked for them to look into one specific thing. I asked for it three times with three different people. I asked the Physician at my interview process. I asked the admissions person to make sure that they did it or at least it was in my notes for them to look at. And I even went as far as specifically to ask the technician that administered the sleep study to look into it. All I got was a bill for $1000 and no answers. I wouldn’t send my dog to this place.When I called them and ask them about what went on and why there was no answers to my questions they basically blew me off and told me that they would look into it but never really did. But yet I still had to pay the thousand dollars.

Had surgery at the outpatient center last week. My surgeon who has done numerous surgeries in the past due to a crash was wonderful - the staff at the outpatient center were rude. Every one of them. And then as I was still out of it from anesthesia they were rushing me out. Awful experience.

Dr. Ehrhardt (app. 10/12/21) is rudest, most presumptuous, and un-professional doctor that I have ever seen.

In under 5 mins he was able to bring my wife to tears and then proceed to kick us out of the office.

Following up, I was then surprised again to see him completely falsefy the appoinment summary.

Long wait times for procedures. They tell you to come at a certain time just to make you wait for over 3 hours. They don't let kids 18 and under inside either.. Don't tell someone to show up at 1pm to have them wait till after 3pm. It's ridiculous.
