Roaring Brook Nature Preserve

This is a gem enjoyed by locals for years and my personal favorite in our downtown. It should be celebrated, not locked away. Putting a gate up comes off as another elitist group trying to keep us regular folks from enjoying our area. And what a lovely area this preserve is. The wooden walkways have stone fairy ponds along them and even a path up to the bluff for outstanding views of the bay and beautiful homes. My favorite pond is just below the bluff tucked away. The ponds have pretty green plants in the winter so it's even nice to walk then. This is a hidden gem and worth stopping by for a short, relaxing walk. It would be nicer without all the new private signage. Maybe a sign telling us about the heritage and who created the ponds would be much nicer to read. It's very unique to Harbor Springs.

Great hiking trails with wooden boardwalks. Very peaceful and very little known about spot. Small streams and lots of cedar trees. A very beautiful area. A true hidden gem!

It is a nice nature preserve but watch where you park. We ended up on a private hiking path but no one bothered us.
