Some of the best authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had! In the middle of nowhere. Very pleasantly surprised rice and beans were out of this world and carne asada was the best I’ve ever had. So clean and service was awesome! 5 star

The best Mexican food I've ever had bar none. The beef tongue tacos on the homemade tortillas are phenomenal and the tamales are savory and not dry at all. Thank god I don't live nearby, I would be so fat

My husband and I found this hidden gem while we were out for a country drive. Although we stopped in just as they were closing, a very nice young lady took the time to go through the menu with us and was just so sweet and accommodating. The restaurant was clean and bright, very festive. We purchased 6 beef tamales and 6 chicken tamales to go. The tamales were still piping hot when we arrived home in Whitehall. The tamales were delicious! I was taken back to my childhood when my family would make tamales for the holidays! We are new fans of Rico’s Tamales and we can’t wait to return and try the tacos, too! I foresee a lot of country drives that will take us through Rothbury again! Thank you so much for welcoming us into your establishment and being so kind. We will be back, often!

By far the best Mexican restaurant I have ever visited. Homemade tortillas, everything on the menu is incredible. The service here was amazing and everyone was friendly.

Happened upon this place and we are so glad we did! We are Hispanic & come from southern CA so we really tend to be critical of “midwestern Mexican” which isn’t Mexican at all.

This place is delicious! We had beans, rice, and barbacoa tacos and they were all fabulous. Yum!

Specializes in great tamales and tacos. Very authentic feel and taste. Perfect stop for quick lunch or to-go orders. Can even get tamales by the dozen. Worth the stop off 31 to get a good quick bite to eat.

Rode my horse to Ricos! I love their Tamales! The owners are very nice. The food is delicious. Fast service. We had a picnic in the shade. It was a great afternoon.

If you haven't ate here you need to. Seriously if you live within a 2 hour radius go there now and buy tamales there delicious and your missing out. Tacos are great to. Really it's all good just get some of everything.

Got two tacos, one asada and one barbacoa along with a real coke from Mexico. Food was great.

If you're a biker on the Hart / Montegue trail you have to stop at Rico's in Rothbury. Fantastic tamales. Easy to find and worth your stop!!!

Tamale's are amazing ... My husband ordered me 2 dozen. Chicken and then popper both very very good

After driving by multiple times I'm so glad I finally tried Rico's! I got the three tamale plate with chicken, popper, and steak. My favorite was the jalapeno and cheese tamale. Service was super fast and the staff was very friendly!

Im there for pickup one or twice a week for my Tamales,,,, especially the Popper Tamales,,,,but they are all great!!!!

They have the best tamales and everything i have tried from this place has been very good. I would highly recommend trying ricos. My family has used them for big graduation parties of 200 plus people multiple times and everyone raves about the food. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. Loved the beans...maybe the best I've had!! Rice was great as well. Tacos were loaded and tasty!! Tamales were...different compared to other tamales I've had. The masa is flavored better than other tamales but isn't as thick as most others...but they were still great!! Staff was fabulous and friendly!!

This place was awesome we are from out of town. But we love checking out small restaurants. By far the best tamales i have ever had. The tacos were good too. I love the tamales so much i got a dozen for the road. The owner was phenomenal very friendly

My husband and I stopped here on a road trip and had an amazing meal. We had the steak tacos, ate them, and ordered more! They were the most authentic tacos I have had since moving to Michigan. Rico and his family were such good hosts and super friendly. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try!
