Boathouse Brewpub & Restaurant

Food was delicious! A little on higher side for the portions, but thats inflation for you lol Service was a bit slow my daughter and sat down (seat yourself) for about 10 or so minutes before we were noticed and asked if we have been helped yet. But the gentleman (I didnt get his name) that helped was awesome very helpful, respectful and resourceful for food knowledge which helped my selection. It was still a very cool place to eat. Could use more seating/ better seating layout. I'm sure I'll visit the area again, and this will be one of the places I'll be going back to.

Great food, delicious beer, friendly staff. I had a hamburger, but subbed out the beef for a grilled chicken. My dad and fiance got a mushroom and swiss burger. If you get a burger, remember to check the corner under layer of paper for your hidden pickles.

Boathouse is a great stop if you are in the Ely area- they have a great beer selection of self brewed beers and a wide food selection as well. Prices are very reasonable and the staff does a great job taking care of their customers! Gotta love the Motorboat burger and fries- pairs perfectly with an ice cold beer! Will be back when I'm in the area again! Thanks for the great food and service!

Excellent bar tenders with awesome service. Very good appetizers to choose from. The jalapeños poppers with sausage was fantastic. Hand patted hamburgers and making them the way you want was very good. Good selection of craft beer. Wish they had a stout on tap. Porters we’re good, IPA was fair. Worth the stop.

Great menu. Had the black bean patty to substitute the burger 🍔, which was really good. Service was on point, and restrooms were clean. Trendy little brew pub for the area.

Thankful for the opportunity to be employed at this amazing restaurant! We were given two days off over this busy holiday season to spend time with our family and enjoy an AWESOME employee Christmas Party. Thank you to the owners for showing your appreciation towards your staff. Us enployees truly appreciate this!

This place is crazy good! We loved trying the fun different seasonal beers they had. I tried a really tasty blueberry flavored beer when we were here. My husband and I ordered the poutine to share and we each ordered a burger that had peanut butter and bacon on it. We did not know that the poutine would be such a huge portion! It was phenomenal and it had us both so stuffed that we had to take our burgers and fries to go. The burgers were still so yummy, even as leftovers! We would love to come back to Ely and stop here again.

This place has absolutely amazing burgers, fries and a great beer selection. Came in after our BWCA trip and this was the perfect place to fill up after several days in the wilderness. Fried cheese curds were also very good. Everything was fresh and came out fast. Service was very friendly. Highly recommended!

Tim was our server and he was working his tail off to ensure all of his tables had their food and were happy with their service. As tourists just passing through Ely, we had plenty of options to stop for lunch but we’re really glad we chose this brewpub! The Cuban was full of flavor and the lady enjoyed her cheeseburger. Good fries, but the in-house stout left something to be desired for me, if I’m ever through again I’ll definitely try a different brew.

We came to town for the color run, was recommended this place, and boy was it worth the stop.

I appreciate a good server and good food. Now, throw in some sassy snark when you ask Makenzie an obviously stupid question and you have the PERFECT server. Top that off with one of the best Cuban sandwiches I’ve ever had and I can’t not come back. The two beers I tried, cream ale and stout, were also very good.

Prices at every restaurant have gone up lately. Minneapolis to the North Shore has had to adjust based on the inflation we are all feeling. Just our new “normal”. Thanks Joe!

Had the Walleye fish and chips and coleslaw. So delicious and filling. I could not finish it! Ely is quite a little tourist place in northern MN. Glad we stopped here. We were going to eat at the Insula in Ely but they require a mask to enter. Masks haven’t been required for over a month anywhere. So my husband didn’t have one with him Not that we mind wearing one when asked . Glad we stopped here!

We had a great experience , great service and great food. We even bought a round of brews for the kitchen on behalf of Outdoor Afros! Thanks for the hospitality and the great food !

Been coming to this place for years. You should not come to Ely without visiting The Boathouse. Their service is great, the food is good (and came out quickly). Their beer was very good.

It is a kid friendly place and also accessible to people with wheelchair.

Quick service, and the server was attentive. Good atmosphere. We only had some of their craft beers, and didn't have any food, but the menu looked interesting.

The Boathouse is a nice local bar in Ely that has great food, service and atmosphere for its little town. My girl and I enjoyed the food and the drinks and even are thinking of moving to the area one day. We are happy to have spent time in this restaurant, though short, we will be back again. Great little pub. Motorboat burger was excellent! Bacon was like a junior steak.

If you don't come to Ely for the hiking, canoeing, shopping, bear center, or wolf center, at least come for the food and beer here. It's worth the trip on its own. The duck wings and blueberry blonde are especially amazing.
