Tokyo Sushi and Hibachi Buffet

Clean place with a pleasant atmosphere and fresh all you can eat food. Expect to pay around $25 per person. It is mostly sushi (as the name suggests), nothing exotic, but fresh and tasty. Also, fish, meat, oysters, coconut shrimp, crab legs, and so on. There aren't many desserts, but they do offer eight or ten ice cream flavors. If you are planning a party, there are several private and semi-private rooms for birthdays and such. We usually go there with the whole family and never had any problems. That said, as with most buffets, it's better to come early. The best time to arrive (based on our experience) is between 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

My family likes this buffet. Because sashimi is fresh, I think kind and price are fine. I took my parents and my husband's parents together for the first time. Because they were so good, I felt good. The staff are all friendly and the food is great! Thank you Tokyo. GOD BLESS.

Never ever write reviews but I felt compelled because I see poor reviews and there shouldn’t be any. I went with my family of 7 (not from nor familiar with the area) and it’s not often you can go into a buffet and every single thing on your plate is good. We were seated quickly on a busy Saturday night. Yes they are pricey compared to other buffets but you get what you pay for. This place was amazing and the food is fresh, definitely recommend.

Food was delicious and great quality. Usually in buffet style they skip out on the quality but even their ice cream was very rich. It is no longer self serve, you will be asked to pick from a list of items and the server will bring you a plate. Great price 12.99 for lunch.

My experience originally was with the Mays Landing location. And I've always loved it! Great food, great prices, courteous staff, clean facility, BUFFET TAKEOUT!!! During my last trip down, I was crushed to see that the place appeared to be closed... Then I discovered this one in Freehold! I was so excited! It's even better than I remember. This location has even more options (new rolls I've never seen and brown rice options) and the food tastes better than ever. I live 45 minutes away but you can bet I'll be making the drive! Five stars for sure!!

One of my favorite places for Asian cuisine. Food is fresh, well seasoned, great portions and always hot!! Easy to find and great parking. I never had to wait long at all to be seated and the staff is friendly and efficient. The lunch prices are an amazing deal and even ordering out is quick and easy And the food is just as good as dining in.

I just came from having a party in their private room. They charged me for the food but not the room and we were there about three hours. Wow! Plenty of soda and water and they cleaned away the plates constantly. Wonderful service. Awesome selection of delicious food. Great, friendly staff. Thank you so much!!!

Buffets are a bad idea during a pandemic, and this place has found a way to work more safely -- and incredibly deliciously. They're working under the name Shake Crab and serving up take out and delivery with a mouth-watering selection of shellfish and Chinese American standards. The crab and shrimp boil was so generous I came home with a dozen shrimp to enjoy the next day.

For a buffet it's super good. Excellent sushi and sashimi. I always fill up on it first. They also have a flat grill where they cook all different meat skewers that are fantastic. Veal, salmon, steak, etc. They have a dim sum bar and the standard Asian buffet food which is kept very fresh. The place is legit. When I want to rock a cheat day and eat 7000 calories this is my spot. They also have private rooms for parties if you'd like.

Selection is top notch, but be prepared to pay adult prices for kids who are taller than 5 ft.

Good selection of hot foods and sushi is always fresh.

BYOB is great to save about $30-40 per person of your bill for drinks alone! That alone is worth the price of admission!

Service is ok but this is a buffet, remember? As always, unlimited free drinks. I’m an ice tea guy with a squeeze of lemon or two.

There’s always someone behind the food counter but you’ll not even notice them as you go through the great food selection. Well, you’ll notice the guy at the bar-b-que grill, as you’ll have to interact with him to have him cook your clams, beef, etc.

the desert bar has a selection of fresh fruits and cakes and pastries. There’s also some pastries by the dumpling area but that’s kind of hidden/unknown under their stainless steel pots.

Ice cream selection is great! Many flavors are available and always better than the traditional vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. Try green tea, mung bean, taro, and a few other! Not overly sweet and always a great!

The food selection is one of the better ones I have seen at a Japanese or Chinese buffet. The sashimi and sushi were a plenty. The rest is the usual fare of different types of meat, veggies, fried, steamed food. The steamed savory and sweet buns were a nice touch. The desserts were nice; which range from ice cream to cheese cake and fruits. The staff was nice, the restaurant was big and well spaced. I will definitely be going there again when I visit Jersey.

Restaurant also goes by the new name of Tokyo Shake Crab. Was craving crab and decided to try some of their new menu. I wasn't expecting it to be amazing but it was. 1 lb of crab with corn on the cob with spicy garlic butter sauce. It was cooked perfect and tasted amazing! Nice size crab legs too. Was messy but I didn't care about that. I couldn't stop licking my fingers. Nap time lol. Definitely will order again, no doubt.

I admit that this review is only for the sushi buffer portion of the restaurant - we haven't been to the hibachi side but honestly there are a billion hibachi places around here. There aren't any really good sushi buffet joints, and this place delivers. Food doesn't ever seem stale, crab legs without extra cost, even a mini-dim-sum section all come together for a pretty good experience.

My family loves the sushi, rock oysters, king crab legs and all the other buffet offerings. It is so great to be a to enjoy sushi for a fixed price. This is a regular stop for us for the quality and the price. Lunch is also great but it is all sushi rolls. But the price is right.
It would cost us more just to go buy the rock oysters and eat at home.

Excellent food!!! Really fresh food with so many choices. The sushi is second to none. So many varieties to choose from. They had American, Seafood, Italian and more. It was truly a nice surprise. I live out of town, but when I am in the area again, my family will make another visit. Skip the Golden Corral for better food at the Tokyo.

Excellent selection and variety of sushi together with a great lunch special price make this buffet a top pick in the area. Add to that an additional selection of standard asian buffet menu items and hard self serve ice creams and you have yourself a great buffet! They also have one large room dedicated to tableside hibachi which I have not sampled.

I love this place. The sushi is delicious and fresh the other buffet options such as the steamed buns or walnut shrimp are to die for. They have a great selection and during lunch time it's around 11 dollars a person

Never disappointed my family. Been coming here for years. Sushi and Sashimi’s are always fresh. A bit pricey on Fridays to Sundays but still worth it. Don’t forget to bring your own alcohol.
