Tried this resto for the first time today. The meal was so good and the serving was huge for the price ! Had the Lechon Asado with rice and black beans for just $6 ! So good ! The staff are also very friendly. A no-frills but cozy and welcoming place. I will definitely return to try the other items.

Pros: The cheapest breakfast in the whole area, the food is good and the staff friendly.

Cons: lots of homeless sleeping in the tables.

Pretty simple restaurant with good food , huge portions and very convenient prices. Definitely my go to spot for a lunch when I’m around the area . Atmosphere is very simple , environment is clean and staff is quick .

$1.50 for a great tasting cafe con leche make this my morning stop en route to my job sites. This also the absolute cheapest place anywhere for Spanish cuisine. Typically I’ll get roast chicken on rice with beans and plantains or yuca - $5.50. I happened to mention El Unico to my dentist and she said sh now gets a take out meal for her whole family once week from here. The decor isn’t 5 star dining but the wait staff are nice and the variety of dishes quite extensive

This is still one of the best bite for your buck in Hudson Country. Not a fancy sit down but if you’re looking for delicious Cuban Style food, Breakfast-Lunch and Dinner, this is the place. The service is fast, Very affordable and good tasting food.
They still offer lunch plates for $3.50. This is almost un heard off now days.
Black beans are great, the Caldo Gallejo(White bean soup) is great. The Moro (rice mix with black beans) is awesome.

The five stars are for the food and the prices. Really can’t be beat. Under $5 for a fantastic Cuban sandwich and $1.50 for a small Cuban coffee. Could be cleaner and updated inside but thats not what this place is trying to be. Its like an old school diner inside. Great cheap breakfast, lunch or dinner. Daily specials and most meats are slow cooked. The added photo gives one an idea of how many sandwiches have been cut in half over the years. There are lots of Cuban sandwiches in UC. I think this one is the best.

Delicious food at very low prices. Most dishes are $5 and can feed me for 2 or 3 meals (light eater). I specially love their ropa vieja and chicken leg with fries, both are available on a daily basis. The cortado for $1.25 is also very delicious, I like it much more than regular lattes.

Always a good spot to eat if you don't want to pay a lot of money to fill up your hunger. And they give you enough.

Love this place. It's affordable with good food. We come here sparactially, and it's always consistently tasty, ample amount of food at a great price.

El Unico is a great place for inexpensive eats. Good portion sizes and delicious! I eat there for lunch regularly and have even hosted events and used their catering menu. All my guests were impressed. Can't go wrong.

The place may be tiny and uninviting, but dont let that fool you. The prices and flavor and food quantity are well WORTH everything. Besides, most people take their order to go. So take a chance on this little joint and you will be coming back as a regular. I promise. Everyone around knows this place.

The food is excellent at a really low price. The restaurant is not fancy, but if you don't care about it I recommend to try the food.
