I had my expectations shattered! Real Mexican food, served hot with BIG PORTIONS, I almost couldn't finish my salad! The place was hopping, they speak English and Spanish to help with reading the menu, which is also in both languages. I never knew this place was here, I am already planning the 40 minute trip to return this weekend!!

LOVED this place. Went here for the first time today and the food was so authentic and the portions were huge for the price!! So much flavor in the food and you can tell there was so much love put in. The service was excellent, everyone kept asking us if we needed anything and if the food was good, and there were so many options for vegetarians!! Highly recommend this place and we will come back again!!

I ordered the quesa birria, which is a traditional Mexican dish made with shredded beef, cheese, and a special sauce. The quesa birria was absolutely delicious! The beef was perfectly cooked and the cheese was melted and gooey. The sauce was flavorful and had a nice kick to it. I also enjoyed the chips and salsa that were served with the quesa birria. The chips were fresh and the salsa was flavorful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican meal.

Still my favorite Mexican restaurant anywhere!

This is the Carnitas Rancheras with the avocado salad only. I skip the rice and beans.

Drizzle the green sauce on top of the pork that comes with the nachos to add a little spice to it.

Always comes out perfect.

The food and service was excellent. Pastries were delicious. The place was very well maintained even-though it was a small place. Definitely i will go again.

An exceptionally good mole as well as birria tacos. Prices are reasonable and service is solid. I would go out of my way to return.

This is the best Mexican food I have ever had in my entire life!! These guys work so hard and they make the most delicious meals. The pictures speak for themselves. Im so full now but I wish I could eat more!!

Came in here on a rainy Sunday a couple weeks ago, and I’m still thinking about how delicious the food was! We dined in and immediately we were served complimentary chips and salsa. Insanely good and spicy 😋 Then we got chicken quesadillas, shrimp enchiladas (verde), chicken and shrimp tacos. By far the green enchiladas were the best thing I’ve had in so long — so spicy and savory, cannot recommended this more! Pretty good portions for the price point as well. We could not leave without some tres leches cake, amazingly moist and creamy.

What really stuck out to me was the commendable service! Genuine family-run restaurant that cares for its customers. They even brought an umbrella for us when it was pouring out. Can’t wait to visit again!

First visit was dinner which warranted a second visit for lunch since the first visit was delicious! Lunch specials are varied and affordable. I loved the salmon taco lunch special (pictured). The salmon was well-seasoned and well-prepared (not over- or undercooked). Portion sizes are great and service is great. It is a wonderful neighborhood place that we plan to return to again and again since we will be moving to the area.

Tiny and neat place. Their Enchiladas is amazingly juicy, tasty and spicy! Have tried couple other veg items too..

Someone recommended this restaurant to us. It was small and didn't look like much. However it was crowded. That was a good sign. The food was excellent. The staff was excellent. We have been recommending the place to others. We'll be going back there next week..

The place is small cozy and works are warm. Also this place has good things to talk about it.
The service is very good and attentive. It has a good atmosphere, the prices are very affordable
The flavors are good tasted and the most close to authentic Mexican food.

Genuinely the best Mexican food in New Jersey! My boyfriend and I drive 45 minutes each way just to eat here! The wait staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and it is just an overall amazing place! There is truly not a bad thing on the menu. My boyfriend gets the burrito de Maria every time and it’s always a 10/10! Definitely check out Maria’s for all your Mexican food needs!!

Such a cute, little place! Food was amazing; tasted homemade. Service was friendly; they made us feel welcome…even with our big family. Will definitely stop again when we are traveling through.

My husband and I went here for lunch. We ordered shrimp fajitas and chicken fajitas. I brought some light beer as BYOB. The chips and dipping sauce were great. We split dulce tres dessert. Very peaceful low key atmosphere. We will be there more often. Five minutes away. A very authentic place.

A gem and so very reasonable. Fantastic small operation doing exactly what made small businesses successful in the 1980's... good food, reasonable prices, healthy portions. Highly recommend. Be early, there isn't much parking.

Service was awesome! The food is awesome and the portion size is awesome as well. I love the feel of the restaurant, it's very small like a mom and pop shop. Everyone is extremely nice, I would definitely go back whenever I'm visiting Jersey.

Taqueria Maria provided excellent food, superb professional and timely service for our catering order last week end. All staff members - starting from help with taking order to delivery was very diligent and professional. The food wuality far exceeded the expectations
