The Empress Hotel

I love this place! You absolutely cannot beat the location- directly across from boardwalk and beach! The rooms are spacious and very clean, pool area is awesome and the staff are extremely pleasant. Our room was ready early and no problems with early check-in. I was pleased to see there’s complimentary breakfast (and coffee!) on weekends. The next time I’m back I’ll definitely try the Paradise nightclub attached to the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel!

Rooms spacious and clean across boardwalk to beach. Sad that cubacon restaurant closed it was excellent Cuban food and great deck location🥰

We have been coming to the Empress for 4 years now. My son plays baseball for nearby Monmouth University, so we come here often. We also have a 10 lb. Yorkie and the staff just love her and dote on her (treats, etc.) Kris and her staff are always accommodating to our requests (extra chair, fridge, etc.). This last stay included two additional rooms for family to attend graduation. Everyone was extremely pleased with their stay. Our son is continuing his education and baseball next year, so I can guarantee that I will be going back to this hidden gem. My brother is now going to come here (dog-friendly) as the beaches allow dogs up to Memorial Day.

Awesome staff! Clean rooms, walking distance to everything cool in Asbury Park and the on site night club was a blast! We had a corner 3rd floor room with beautiful ocean and boardwalk views, we came to see Twiddle and could even hear the band sound check at the Stone Pony from our balcony. A fantastic experience, we will be back!

We felt safe, and I would have felt safe if I were traveling alone. Our room was cozy and clean. The balcony was great! That was all that was needed for the quick trip before summer starts. So close to the beach and a very comfortable walking distance to shops. There are many great food options close by. We didn't check out the club, that wasn't in the cards. For this type of lodging, it is perfect.
I will definitely be going again. And again. Thank you!!

One of the last cool spots that survived the redevelopment of Asbury. Great place to stay in an incredible location. Definitely the best deal in town as parking and entry to the nightclub are always included. No sneaky "resort fees" and they don't nickel and dime you for basic amenities. Definitely worth a stay especially in the off season!

First time there was last week! Absolutely love this place! Great atmosphere, beautiful people, GREAT STAFF! ... and???? A FREAKING POOL TABLE!!! *Liz bows to greatness

This place seemed comparable money wise and location wise from the Asbury and Berkeley, where we’ve stayed previous visits. Turns out- it is better! Balcony overlooking the ocean, delightful bars, and kind humans. Definitely recommend!

Once again they out did themselves. My husband and I go and stay at the Empress many times and always have a great time. Wonderful friendly and courteous staff, very clean rooms. Tho a little pricey these days yet a great place to stay and or visit. Definitely will b back to visit. ❤🌈
The rooms tho clean need to to be updated like now. Usb ports near the bed or electric sockets near the bed. Make sure all lamps work and hangers in the closet. But we will be back as always. A great time ❤. A wonderful place.

Spent the night this past weekend for my bday. A bunch of friends rented rooms as well. We all only live about 20-30 min away in in various directions to Asbury but didn’t want to worry about driving, Ubers etc. Staff was very nice, rooms were clean and location is just perfect in town.

We’ve stayed here a bunch of times, and it’s always great. Clean rooms, friendly staff. But this stay was extra awesome!
I dropped my wallet outside on the sidewalk, and didn’t realize I had lost it until hours later. The staff not only found it and kept it safe for me, they scoured social media trying to find me! (The room was booked under my SOs name, not mine)
10/10 for going above and beyond!

Its a dirty old hotel with everything shopworn but has the nicest staff of any hotel on the planet and not just the front desk staff, even the housekeeping staff was absolutely delightful. The pool was large with plenty of seating. The rooms were simple but well kept except for the carpets, gross, and the views from the fourth floor were spectacular. Located right by the old power plant and casino so you can park your car and never have to use it your entire vacation. There are dozens of restaurants and galleries all within easy walking. If you can stay on the 4th floor for the best views and stay on the north end of the hotel (rooms ending in 24 through 34) if possible, better views AND quieter.

Across the street from the Boardwalk and has a Pool with Tiki Bar--what could be better? Nightclub with fun shows-walkable to everwhere! Balcony rooms and free parking when available--stay here on your next visit!

we are repeat guests at the Empress and will continue to keep coming back! Very clean, excellent, friendly staff. The manager Kristen is the best!! All are so welcoming, the pool is crystal clear and the tiki bar is always stocked! Best hotel in the area, you will not be disappointed!

What an amazing hotel. The staff was super welcoming and warm. The room was clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean. I'm very happy how they took care of us. Also paradise was such an amazing bar and a time would go again. The pool is absolutely to die for and I could spend all day there instead of the beach. This is definitely the best hotel in Asbury

I have stayed here a couple of times throughout the years. 1- This Hotel is IMMACULATE. The rooms are always clean. The hotel itself inside and outside are always in tip top shape. 2-. The staff are exceptional, always making sure your needs are taken care of. 3- Balconies for every room,you can't beat that. It's right by the boardwalk,beach and good restaurants. So if your heading to Asbury do yourself a favor and stay here.

I want to thank the empress and paradise staff for maintaining a safe and fun environment during this pandemic. The pool feels way safer than the overcrowded beach thanks to the staff making sure everyone follows the protocols. The hotel staff is so accommodating and helps with anything you may need. The bartenders are always so nice and friendly. The security staff does a great job of keeping everyone safe while still being personable and not aggressive. Thank you guys for the great job you are doing.

A very comfortable and welcoming hotel. Front desk lady was super nice. The room was newly renovated, it seemed. The bathroom was spotless, looked brand new. My room had a balcony, on the ocean side. Price was perfect. As a solo woman business traveler, I felt very safe there. Highly recommended.
