Main Street Comics & Toys

This is a great comic book shop. I went in for the first time since their renovation and was wowed. Spacious and clean with tons of new and back issue selection, $1 books, complete sets, lots of wall books at great prices, Magic, Pokemon, and other TCG cards, Funkos, and collectibles. Highly recommended and worth the drive.

The prices are reasonable, and the stock of key issues is sizable. They also have a decent action figure collection. The guy who rang up my purchase was knowledgeable and friendly. The only thing I regret is that I didn't get his name. I definitely will be going back for more of my comic and figure collecting needs (and to learn his name)!

Great shop. Very knowledgeable staff. Quite an extensive stock and prices seem reasonable. Action figures are well represented as well as comics. Go check out Main Street Comics, you'll like their shop.

Think about some of the best comic book stores you've ever been to and then multiply it by some ridiculous number and then you might come close to Main Street comics.

Amazing selection, variety and prices. This place is seriously dangerous! I can't wait to come back!

Wanted to update my review. I LOVE THIS STORE! I've been collecting comic books for over a year now and I'm glad I got started over at Main St. I've been going here EVERY Tuesday religiously since October of 2021. Mike & the staff are super helpful and great to talk to. If there's an issue your missing or not apart of the weekly releases, they'll gladly order it for you. They have everything from graphic novels to vintage toys and the newest trading cards. Everything is reasonably priced and the overall atmosphere is great! Excited to go into the new year and see what will be released.

Went on free comic book day for the first time. I was blown away by all the amazing stuff anf variety they have in that store. Loved being there will start being a regular!

An absolute gem - both the store and the person who works there. I happened upon this spot quite by accident as I was in town and in search of a comic that a friend had recommended. Not only did they have the comic in stock, but one of them was even signed by the writer. Once inside, I got swept up in the perfectly curated stock of the old and new; toys, comics, magazines and art. I was surprised and pleased to see a giant section of $1 comics and they were all organized by title. That is the kind of care that is put into this place. I've never seen such an elevated aesthetic in a comic store. Also, a big shout out to the manager that helped me in a very kind and caring way. I really appreciate a store like this and hope to be back - don't sleep on this one!

Been collecting comics for more than a decade, and I gotta say.....this may be the greatest comic store I've ever been to on the East coast. Great amount of wall books, back issues and dollar books. So much fun digging through runs and finding keys, and everything is in mylar. Great prices for the wall books and back issues too. Can't wait to head back.

Mike is always on top of my subscriptions and the staff is very friendly. Good selection, too. My daughter and I always spend way more money in there than we intend!

I'm a believer. I even apologized to the owner to share my shame at not having visited this store before. The owner, Mike, even graciously shared with me some vintage Romance comics he'd gotten in but not yet priced after I told him of my interest. Great environment, great atmosphere and the most significant stock of both supplies and back issues of vintage Golden-Silver Age comics I've seen in a store and I travel the entire East Coast! Main Street Comics is the place to be and I look forward to becoming a regular customer from here on out.

Great place to get comics, manga, trade paperbacks, pops, etc. They'll reserve your titles for you as well.

If you are new to comics and games or are a hard core collector, Main Street Comics & Toy's staff will help you find what you want and they have a great selection of comics, toys and collectibles. I can spend hours staring at all of the vintage covers on the wall!!! Great collections... great owner... great staff! KAPOW!

I’ve been coming to this shop on and off again since I lived in spotswood back in 2003-2007. I’ve always been extremely pleased with the selection and staff, especially the Store Owner. If there’s ever something I’m looking for in particular he either helps me find it or orders it for me to be shipped to the store. Very knowledgeable, super friendly and down to earth folks here. I was happy to see they expanded the store as it was a bit small before but that never stopped them from having all the necessities you would look for in a local comic book shop(old/new releases, trade paperbacks, collectible issues, toys, and good music. I recommend if you’re in the area you drop by for a visit. I moved away and still take the 25 minute drive because it’s by far my favorite comic shop.

I went into the store to buy my brother a set of comic books that he had been looking for in Tennessee for months. He couldn't find them there or they were insanely overpriced. I'm relatively new to comics and wanted to get him something special. The two folks working in the place were incredibly nice and helpful. I ended up purchasing several items and am incredibly happy with them. I ended up sharing the news with my brother early because I wasn't sure if I paid a fair price. I then find out that I definitely did. I believe it was Mike that sold me the special collection for his birthday. As someone who is naive and relatively new to buying comics, especially ones on the rarer side, he could have easily taken advantage of me. He didn't. He was honest, helpful, and kind. I plan on starting a few subscriptions once I find out what I enjoy reading and will definitely continue to purchase items from here. They have a fantastic selection, too.
I could go on and on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I have been coming to this amazing shop for over ten years now and have never walked out of there without feeling like part of a community. You always feel welcome, the staff are warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable, and the choices you have, whether it be for comics, toys, collectibles, or comic related supplies are fantastic. This is what your local neighborhood comic shop is supposed to feel like, and I strongly encourage you to come experience it for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

I have had a pull list with Mike at Main Street Comics for the better part of 10 years; maybe longer. He is awesome when responding to special requests or last minute adds to my pull box. His pricing is reasonable and even with it being a smaller shop, for now, the selection is vast. If you live anywhere in New Jersey, and you haven't checked out Main Street Comics, you are missing out!

I just wanted to give a shout-out to Mike and everyone on his team over at Main Street Comics. I first began shopping there in 2008 and from the first time walking through their doors to just this past week, they’ve always made me feel welcomed!

Mike is always willing to work with you to try and find missing issues and just keeps a very clean and well stocked store (with amazing prices). Although I’m sad that I won’t get to shop there as frequently as before since my family and I moved to NC, you can bet the store is one of my first stops whenever we are back in the area.

Lastly, I let Mike know this when I stopped in this week and he reminded me I can always email him with my wishlist and he’s happy to work with me until I’m back in the area again.

Seriously, it’s one of the best comic stores I’ve shopped at!

Best Place for comics around. I have been getting my weekly comics pulled for close to a decade now. The entire staff is knowledgeable and more importantly friendly. Mike knows his customers down to knowing my job, my sons name.. and takes the time to just talk when coming in. On top of that, he doesn't hesitate to throw a comic in your pile that he thinks you might enjoy, and if its not to your liking will take it back. Seriously, they can't be beat, and the best thing to happen to me in my collecting was my old store closing, and suggesting to start using Main Street Comics.

Main Street Comics is a great place! I've been going there 17 years. Good selection of books- and and Mike, Jackie, and team are fixtures in the community and a great resource if you enjoy comics. The shop has a great team and an awesome owner. Always cares about everyone who walks in the people that come through. Every time I walk in there are people having conversations about what they love. Everything Ive asked for they’ve been able to order for me and reach to me directly when it arrives. This is the culture a comic book shop should have and I’m happy to have found it. You won’t regret visiting!
